Blueboys Fall to Augustana in High-Scoring Affair

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Illinois College put up a strong offensive performance but came up short in a 15-12 loss to Augustana on Friday. Despite racking up 13 hits and three home runs, the Blueboys couldn't overcome a tough day on the mound.

IC moves to 8-5 on the season, and the Vikings climb to 5-4.

Illinois College wasted no time getting on the board, scoring six runs in the first three innings to take an early lead. Connor Hennemann led the charge at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Adam Passmore added a homer, a double, and two RBIs, while Nolan Decker also went deep as part of a 1-for-3 day with an RBI.

The Blueboys' offense stayed hot late, pushing across three runs in the ninth in an attempt to rally. Louie Bartletti drove in three runs with a double, and Logan Fleener chipped in with a 2-for-4 performance, scoring twice.

On the mound, Illinois College battled through a challenging day, working around 11 walks and five hit batters. Jack McGuire took the start, pitching three innings, while the bullpen fought to keep the game within reach despite some tough breaks.
