HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – Senior Chaz Harvey (Charlottesville, Va./Miller School) tied a program record with three doubles and junior William Wian (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) struck out nine over seven scoreless innings as the Randolph-Macon baseball team posted a 10-3 ODAC victory at Hampden-Sydney on Tuesday evening.

How It Happened:
- After a scoreless first, the Yellow Jackets started the scoring in the top of the second. Harvey had a leadoff double and went to third on a base hit by sophomore Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga). Sophomore Zach Wernoski (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill), playing in his first game since March 8, delivered a sacrifice fly to center that brought in Harvey to make it 1-0. Junior Tanner Gates (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) doubled to knock in Quici and give the visitors a 2-0 edge.
- RMC put up another crooked number in the third. Senior Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) drew a two-out walk and scored on a double by Harvey to make it 3-0. A two-bagger by Quici brought home Harvey to push the advantage to 4-0. Quici went to third on a bunt single by Wernoski and scored on a passed ball to up the lead to 5-0.
- The Yellow Jackets added to their lead in the sixth. Wernoski reached on an error, went to second on a walk to Gates and advanced to third when sophomore Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) was hit by a pitch. Freshman Mason Bodnar (Arlington, Va./St. John's Prep) drew a walk to bring home Wernoski, making it 6-0. Junior Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) hit a sacrifice fly to deep center that scored Gates from third and Bowles from second to extend the advantage to 8-0.
- RMC scored again in the ninth. Lautenschlager had a leadoff double and came home on a double by Harvey to increase the lead to 9-0. A sacrifice fly by Wernoski brought in Harvey to make it 10-0.
- The Tigers scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth to make the final 10-3.
By The Numbers
- Wian pitched 7.0 innings with four hits, all singles, two walks and nine strikeouts to raise his record to 3-1.
- Harvey had three doubles with three runs and two RBI. Harvey tied Ted Thomas (1980 vs. Hampden-Sydney), E.B. Walthall III (1987 vs. Shenandoah) and Charlie Kuehn (1988 vs. Washington and Lee) with three doubles in a game for the Yellow Jackets.
- Quici went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and one RBI.
- Lautenschlager had a double and a walk while scoring twice.
