Lynchburg used the benefit of three home runs to take a doubleheader against Emory & Henry, 4-2 and 11-2, on Saturday in ODAC play. Brock Shiflett, Lincoln Evans, Michael Kenah, and Dan Savage each had three hits on the day for the Hornets. Shiflett added four runs scored while Arrowood contributed four RBI.

Thiel scored all the runs it needed in the fourth and fifth innings as the Tomcats defeated Dominican, 4-2. Four Tomcats recorded multi-hit games, with Doug Farley leading the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a double and a run scored.

Carthage opened its 2013 season by splitting a doubleheader with the Rose-Hulman at the Art Nehf Baseball Field in Terre Haute, Ind.  Carthage won the opening game, 8-6, before losing the nightcap by a 6-5 margin, as the Fightin' Engineers scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Sophomore outfielder Frankie Tassielli went 5-for-6 with two home runs, three runs scored and five RBI to lead the Florham Devils to a 13-6 victory over Washington (MD) in the first game of their Florida Spring Break Trip.

Scranton scored seven unearned runs with the help of five York errors, en route to an 11-8 victory over the Spartans at sunny Jaquet Field. Senior lefty Bobby Della Polla worked the first six innings to get the win.

A walk-off walk and a two-hitter lifted Chapman to a weekend series sweep over visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, taking both ends of a doubleheader 6-5 and 6-1 at Hart Park. The Panthers came back with four runs in the bottom of the ninth in the first game of the day and then received outstanding pitching in finale for their fourth consecutive win. Chapman moved from a sixth-place tie on Friday into a five-way tie for second place in the crowded SCIAC standings, one game behind Occidental who sits alone in first.

Sophomore Josh Desai pitched Suffolk to their first win of the 2013 season as the Rams topped Washington College 8-2. Desai was solid over seven innings of work on the mound for Suffolk as he scattered eight hits on the day only allowing one run while striking out three hitters.

Strong pitching from starters Micah Mabe and Garrett Kriston propelled Covenant to a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Christian. Covenant took game one 6-1 behind Mabe's impressive outing. Kriston twirled a gem of his own in game two as the Scots shutout the Trailblazers 5-0 to earn the sweep.

New Jersey City senior right-hander Wendell Rodriguez moved within one win of tying the career program record for victories and did not allow an earned run in a brilliant complete-game seven-hit effort as the Gothic Knights opened their annual spring trip to Florida with a 3-2 triumph over Penn State University-Abington.  In the opening game of a four-game appearance at the Russ Matt Spring Break Invitational, NJCU evened its record at .500 by scoring three runs in the top of the second inning and then holding off the Lions. PSU-Abington scored single unearned runs in the third and fifth innings.

Jeff Lynch went 2-for-4 with two runs and Adam Weiner was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Johns Hopkins to a 10-5 victory against Mary Washington on a beautiful day at the JHU Baseball Diamond. The Blue Jays improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2010,

The Colby-Sawyer baseball team began the season with a pair of wins over WPI on Saturday at McKeel Academy. Colby-Sawyer won the first game 6-4 and took the second game 2-0. Kevin Keith earned the game one win allowing two runs in six innings. Junior PJ Singster went 5.1 innings without surrendering a hit before the Engineers broke up the no-hitter. Singster finished the game, with a three hit shutout.

Despite weather that was more Minnesota-like than Arizona-like, the Cardinals' offense continued to sizzle, as St. Mary's (Minn.) scored nine runs, including four in the first two innings combined, in running its winning streak to seven with a 9-4 nonconference win over Marian. Drew Denning went 3-for-5 to pace St. Mary's 14-hit attack.

Louisiana College split a doubleheader with LeTourneau to win their opening series ASC play. The Wildcats dropped game one by a final score of 6-1, but came came back with a 3-2 win in the rubber match to take the series.

Stevens pounded out 17 hits and scored 15 runs in a shutout against John Jay at Dobbelaar Field. Stevens plated at least one run in each of the first six innings en route to its most runs scored this season and fourth win of the year.

Muhlenberg exploded for seven consecutive singles to start the bottom of the ninth to knot the game at 6-6. Kurt Johnson delivered a sacrifice fly that brought home pinch-runner Chris Flynn and the Mules had a stunning 7-6 win against a Penn State Behrend has been invited to a postseason tournament each of the last five years. The win brought the Mules home with an 8-3 record and a 6-2 mark in Florida.

The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs swept a Saturday road doubleheader at Mary Hardin-Baylor and completed a three-game sweep of the Crusaders in ASC West Division play. Thomas Harwell won for the fourth time in 2013 and pitched six innings in game two. He struck out two and allowed four earned runs. In the early game, Aaron Aleman tossed a complete-game six-hitter and struck out eight.

Pitchers come through for St. Mary's (Md) and Oneonta State in a non-conference doubleheader. St. Mary's rallied for a 2-1 win in the first game of the twin bill while Oneonta State held on for its first win of the season, a 1-0 decision in the nightcap.

Clay Gartner of George Fox out-dueled Pacific ace Rob Dittrick in the first game and the visiting Bruins used 15 hits and several costly errors to score big in the second game, sweeping the Boxers 2-0 and 14-4 in a NWC doubleheader at Chuck Bafaro Stadium.

Hardin-Simmons' split an ASC doubleheader with Sul Ross State, losing 6-3 in the first game before taking the three-game series with a 10-4 win in the rubber game, in action at Hunter Field.
