Postponed twice, the matchup between Salisbury and Christopher Newport finally got played. Salisbury took advantage of defensive and pitching mistakes for a 5-1 win over the Captains. Bill Root was 1-for four but factored in four of Salisbury's five runs, scoring once and driving in three.
The Arcadia Knights ended their trip to the Ripken Experience this morning with a 4-2 win over Albertus Magnus. The Knights took two out of three from the Falcons this week and return home going, 4-3 on the trip. Justin Simpson went 2-4 with a run scored and also recorded the save. Brendan Campbell pitched four plus innings, giving up two runs, one earned on three hits and struck out two.
Craig Conway surrendered a home run to the second batter he faced in his first collegiate start, but he settled down from there and the Albion hitters supplied more than enough offensive support as the Britons routed Greenville, 16-2, at Chain Of Lakes Park. Conway yielded seven hits and two walks.
Catholic had its five game win streak snapped in a 6-0 loss to Mary Washington. After three scoreless innings, the Eagles broke through with two runs in the 4th, and then added three more in the 7th. The Cardinals were held to two hits on the afternoon.
Redlands used a four-run seventh inning to overtake Bridgewater (Va.), 4-1, in non-conference baseball action. JustinnPetock carried a four-hit shutout into the seventh, but the Bulldogs bunched three hits along with a pair of Bridgewater errors to put four runs on the board. The Bulldogs followed this up with a 11-8 win over Kean, their second Top 25 opponent of the day.

It took a few innings to get going, but once Marietta got rolling there was no stopping it as the No. 2 ranked Pioneers defeated Ohio Wesleyan by the score of 18-1. This was the second game in three days that the Pioneers defeated a team coached by an alumnus of the Marietta program.
In their final day of RussMatt Invitational action, Gordon swept the Trailblazers of MCLA, taking the opener 8-1 before capturing a commanding 15-8 win in the nightcap. In the opener, the Scots crossed the plate seven times in the top of the first to take control of the game. In the nightcap, MCLA jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in their half of the first but Gordon took advantage of some sloppy defense to pull even in the second. The Scots' three-run fourth put them ahead for good.
Baldwin Wallace defeated Denison University, 9-6, on the fourth day of its annual Spring Break trip at the Snowbird Baseball Classic. The win ended the Yellow Jackets' two game losing streak. At the plate, the Yellow Jackets were led by Brad Gugliotta with a pair of hits and three RBI.
Behind 22 hits, Gwynedd-Mercy struck early and often in a 17-3 win at Penn State-Berks. The Griffins plated runs in the first four innings including a six-run second to go up 13-0. Josh Martin, Rick Elfreth and David Blount each had three hits apiece. Martin drove in three runs while Blount scored three times and Elfreth knocked in a run and scored twice.
Cairn senior centerfielder Jeremy McAlack got on base four times from the leadoff spot, going 2-for-3 with two walks, and came around to score twice to lead the Highlanders to a 6-5 victory at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida. The win was the first of the season for Cairn, who improves to 1-8, while Lesley, who picked up a win over Medaille College earlier in the morning, fall to 2-4.

After Augsburg dealt the Blue Devils a 4-1 loss in the first game, UW-Stout defeated the Auggies 7-5, in the second. In the nightcap, Augsburg scored three in the fifth to knot the game at 5-5 but as they did a week ago, the Blue Devils came up with the winning margin. Charlie Meyer drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning with the final tally scoring on a wild pitch.
Washington (Mo.) exploded for a season-high 13 runs on a season-high 16 hits as the Bears earned a 13-5 win over Brandeis at the UAA Championship Tournament. In other UAA action Brandeis lost to Emory 8-3 and Case Western Reserve lost to Rochester 4-3 in the late game.
Muhlenberg picked up right where it left off in Florida in its northern opener. Just like they did on Saturday against Penn State Behrend in Fort Pierce, the Mules posted a walkoff win against a team from Pennsylvania with postseason experience. This one was against rival Moravian, 6-5 in 10 innings. After the Greyhounds scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth, Muhlenberg again struck with two outs in the bottom half of the inning. With the bases loaded, Nick Plinio hit a slow roller that was not fielded cleanly, allowing the winning run to score.
A trio of sophomores had strong pitching performances and Mount
Union got some clutch hits in the eighth inning to beat
Transylvania, 3-2. Down 2-1 in the eighth, Mount Union took
advantage of a pair of walks and a hit batter while getting RBI
singles from Anthony Morino and Ricky Olasz to take the lead. Three
sophomores, Sam Clarke, Ryan Sason and Brandon Bell, combined
to hold the Pioneers to nine hits over nine innnigs.
