Carroll (10-14, 2-6 CCIW) rode the shoulders of senior righty Cam Godinsky's complete game shutout to take the 1-0 win Friday night at Millikin (10-13, 5-6 CCIW). Millikin would lead off the bottom of the first with a single, but Godinsky would strand him at second. The Big Blue would manage just four hits and four total baserunners over the final eight innings. The lone run in the game would cross the plate in the top of the third inning. Catcher TJ Pfaffle would lead-off the inning with a line-drive single to right-center field. Freshman Matt Pestel would sacrifice bunt Pfaffle to second and lead-off hitter Ethan Fleigle would drive home Pfaffle to give the Pios the 1-0 advantage. Godinsky (3-3) would cruise to the win, scattering five hits, walking none and striking out eight in the complete game shutout.
Nolan McCarthy pitched a complete game gem as the Occidental baseball team beat Caltech 4-1 on Friday in Game 1 of three between the teams this weekend. McCarthy, a junior from Portland, Ore., continues to dominate everyone he faces. He struck out 12 batters, with just one walk, and did not allow an earned run. He's only allowed six earned runs in 41 innings pitched in SCIAC play. He also has an incredible 69 strikeouts with just 14 walks this season. Oxy's Reid Gibbs went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base, Antonio Andrade went 2 for 4, Bryan Smith went 1 for 4 with an RBI, a run scored and a triple, Jared Baur went 1 for 4 with an RBI, a run scored and a double, and Jack Brancheau went 1 for 5 with an RBI-single.

Senior Edward Lehr hit a grand slam and classmate Michael Genaro became the program's all-time wins leader with a three-hit complete game as No. 14 Babson defeated visiting MIT, 12-1, in the opener of a three-game NEWMAC series at Govoni Field. Winners of three straight games, Babson improves to 20-4 overall and 9-2 in league play, while MIT slips to 13-10-1 overall and 5-4 in the NEWMAC. Genaro improved to 4-1 this spring by fanning six and allowing just an unearned run in the fifth to record his first complete game of the spring and sixth of his career. The victory was also the 22nd of his career helping him pass Sam Kilpatrick '97 for first on the Beavers' all-time list.
Matt Valin allowed two hits and struck out 10 batters over six innings and Wyatt Myers doubled twice and drove in four runs as nationally 25th-ranked Cortland remained unbeaten in SUNYAC play with a 9-2 win over visiting New Paltz. Valin allowed one run on two hits with four walks and a season-high 10 strikeouts to improve to 5-0 on the season. Noah Ernst gave up one run over two innings and Liam Krasney pitched a 1-2-3 ninth.

Dickinson struck early and continued to build on the lead throughout the game, sweeping the series with Gettysburg with a 17-10 victory. Senior Ben Carter had a great outing, coming just a homerun short of hitting for the cycle. He went 4-for-5 on the day, driving in three runs, scoring twice and drawing a walk. He tallied two singles, a double and a triple. Max Brown became the second Red Devil this week to record the 100th hit of his career, driving one through in the fourth. Carter reached the century mark in Tuesday's win at Gettysburg.
On a night when its offense was only able to muster one run on nine hits, Webster used a complete game pitching gem from junior Matt Mulhearn to post a 1-0 shutout victory over Iowa Wesleyan in the opener of its three-game SLIAC series against the Tigers at GCS Credit Union Ballpark. With the victory, Webster extended its win streak to three straight games and improved its record to 18-8 overall and 8-3 in the SLIAC, while Iowa Wesleyan fell to 5-20-1 overall and 3-10 in the league. In Friday's game, Mulhearn tossed a complete game shutout as he threw 110 pitches and allowed just two hits, while walking three and tying a career high with 12 strikeouts. Mulhearn, who improved to 6-1 with the win, struck out the side in the first and third innings and has now recorded 60 strikeouts in 56.1 innings on the season. With his performance, Mulhearn, who threw a career high nine innings in Friday's game, lowered his season ERA to 1.93.
Case Western Reserve struck first in their four-game series at Emory this weekend, winning 4-1 in the opening game of a doubleheader in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday. The win was the sixth-straight for the Spartans, who raised their record to 18-8 overall and to 5-2 in the University Athletic Association. Emory dropped to 15-12 overall with a 4-1 league mark. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Matt Levine picked up the win to improve to 4-2 on the campaign. He held the Eagles to one run on just four hits and a walk over five and a third innings in the contest, while striking out one batter in a 74-pitch effort. Levine lowered his ERA to 2.30 following Friday's effort.
Behind another solid Friday start from Sam Carpenter, Piedmont won 7-4 in the series opener against North Carolina Wesleyan College. Carpenter held the Battling Bishops to four runs over seven innings while the offense tacked on runs in six straight innings to control the contest. Cameron Johnson led the Lions with a three hit performance with two runs scored and an RBI.
Behind seven strong innings from game one starter Joe Gratton, Castleton earned a doubleheader split, 3-1 and 1-3, at UMD Baseball Field. Due to field conditions at Castleton, the games were played at UMass-Dartmouth with the Spartans as the home team. Gratton - 7 IP, 1 ER, 8K - earned the win in game one, while Andy Kenosh - 2 IP, 0 H, 1K - earned the save in his second straight appearance. Garrett Moran - 7.1 IP, 3 ER, 3K - suffered his first loss of the season (3-1) despite turning in a quality start. Davis Mikell - 1.2 IP, 1 H, 2K - relieved Moran and kept the Corsairs off of the board during the final two frames. Offensively, Mikell recorded two hits in game one and another in the backend of the twinbill to go 3-for-7 with an RBI and walk. Josh Ferro, Dillon Benham and Pat Mumford each notched two hits apiece.

Rowan cruised by Rutgers-Camden, 10-2. Designated hitter Mitch Walker went four for five at the plate and scored four runs. Second baseman Alex Kokos contributed three hits, including a home run and four runs batted in (RBI). Center fielder Matt Woods added two hits, a double and one run. Right fielder Eric Schorr chipped in two triples and scored once. Right-hander Danny Serreino earned the win (2-2) on the mound, pitching seven innings and striking out 12 batters. Right-handers Dan Corvo and Zach Listro each threw one inning and struck out two batters apiece.
Junior RHP Andrew DeRoche allowed just three hits and struck out eight over 7.1 innings and classmate Matt Koperniak was 3-for-3 with two walks, two runs, an RBI, and a stolen base to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-0 win over the visiting Colby College Mules in NESCAC East Division action at Murren Family Field in DiBenedetto Stadium. Trinity improves to 17-4 overall and 5-2 in the NESCAC East, while the Mules fall to 6-10 overall and 0-4 in the division with their 10th setback in a row. The teams will resume the three-game set in Hartford tomorrow.
Behind a pair of RBI from graduate student Mark Joao Springfield defeated Clark, 2-0, to open a NEWMAC West Division Series at Granger Field. Freshman Brendan Kirck got the nod and pitched 3.2 innings, giving up three hits, before Zach Kerr came on in the fourth and went for 3.1 frames, giving up just one hit. Duncan Satterlee earned his second save of the year as he pitched the final 2.0 innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.
J.J. Freeman's four-hit effort at the leadoff spot and Kelsey Launi's five-RBI performance keyed Franklin & Marshall's 11-3 drubbing of Washington College on Caplan Field Friday. Freeman led the effort with a 4-for-5 line, registering four runs and two RBIs. Launi went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and five RBIs, while Blugis recorded a 2-for-5 effort with two RBIs, and Justin Cavegn went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Alex Miller stole two bases on the day, and F&M outhit the Shoremen by a staggering 14-5 margin. Starter Jack Buckley (5-1) earned the win after tossing six solid innings, allowing two earned off of four hits while striking out five.
Cole Irby delivered the go-ahead double in the 10th inning to lift the sixth-ranked Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to an 11-10 road win Friday night over the Centenary College (La.) Gents. Irby brought home freshman shortstop Joe Jimenez with the winning run in the top of the 10th, and freshman left-hander Matthew Hickey capped three innings of hitless relief with a scoreless bottom of the 10th to secure the win. The Bulldogs improved to 22-8 overall and to 7-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with their third straight victory. Hickey improved to 4-0 with the pitching victory. He struck out two and walked three. Thomas Varner collected three hits, drove in three and scored a run for TLU. The Bulldogs recorded 14 total hits. Centenary had 17.
Sophomore Jordan DeDonato had both RBIs in the first nine innings while junior David Larson snapped a 2-2 tie in the top of the 14th as WPI went on to defeat Coast Guard, 6-2, in a NEWMAC matchup. Junior Kyle Wood, meanwhile, struck out eight and walked a pair in six hitless innings. Trailing 2-1 heading into the ninth, DeDonato used a productive ground out to tie the game. The game then went into extra innings after a 1-2-3 frame by the hosts. Coast Guard left three on and WPI abandoned a pair in the 10th and 11th. Both sides were then retired in order in the 12th and 13th. Junior Tyrone Patterson, graduate student Matt Howard and Larson each connected on singles to produce the go-ahead run. Later in the frame, senior Josh Herlands chased home a run before classmate Austin Lindner struck a two-RBI single to center for the 6-2 final.
Johns Hopkins hit seven home runs, including two three-run shots from Chris Festa, as the Blue Jays defeated visiting McDaniel, 13-3 on Babb Field. JHU has now won 29 consecutive Centennial Conference games at home as the Blue Jays are outscoring conference opponents 58-4 in the four games in Baltimore so far this season. Johns Hopkins last lost a conference game at home on April 2, 2016, when Haverford came to Baltimore and took a doubleheader from Hopkins. The Blue Jays are 92-61 all-time against McDaniel and have won the last 10 meetings between the two teams. Dating back to 2015, JHU has outscored McDaniel 51-17 in the last five meetings in Baltimore. The seven home runs are a season-high for the Blue Jays who also hit seven home runs last season against Gwynedd Mercy on February 27.
Ramapo defeated Kean on the road 4-2 in NJAC conference action. The Roadrunners improve to 14-10 overall, 5-3 in the NJAC while the Cougars now stand at 18-11 overall and 5-3 in the conference. Greg Westhelle, who entered the game in the bottom of the eighth, closed the door on the Cougars in the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered just two hits in two innings of work. CJ Growney (2-3) earned the win on the mound for Ramapo, he struck out five, walked two and scattered seven hits in seven complete innings of work. Five different Roadrunners recorded hits in the game while Timpanelli led the way with two RBI.
