Junior right fielder Nick D'Ambra went 2-for-6 with four RBI and three runs scored as Rhode Island College split a doubleheader at No. 7 Southern Maine, 0-14; 10-0, in Little East action played at Ed Flaherty Field on Friday afternoon.

No. 2 Washington University swept No. 5 Aurora in Friday's doubleheader. The Bears continue an undefeated season, improving to 14-0, while the Spartans suffer its first losses and dip to 13-2. Senior Ryan Loutos pitched eight innings to earn his fifth win of the season. He recorded 12 strikeouts for the third time, which ranks eighth in program history for most strikeouts in a single game. Loutos owns the record with 15 strikeouts. Senior Troy Bauer pitched five innings to earn his third win from the mound.

Westfield State's Casey Boudreau singled home Kyle Darby in the top of the seventh inning with two outs to lift the Owls to an 11-10 win over Fitchburg State in game one of a doubleheader.  The Owls were down 10-2 through four innings of play.  The Owls completed the sweep with a hard fought 4-3 win in the nightcap.  Westfield improves to 7-1 overall and sit atop the MASCAC at 4-0.  The games were the openers for the Falcons as they are 0-2. 

Carroll University split with No. 9-ranked and three-time defending conference tournament champion North Central College in a sunny, cool College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin doubleheader at Zimmerman Stadium on Friday afternoon, winning the opener 5-4 but losing the second game 11-1. The gritty first game effort snapped a string of back-to-back conference losses for Carroll, which is currently 3-6 in the league standings and 9-8 overall following the challenging twin bill. The statement-making victory took on historical significance as it was the Pioneers' first victory over North Central since April 15, 2017 (a 17-7 home-field victory in the opening game of a CCIW doubleheader), ending an eight-game losing streak to the Cardinals.

US Merchant Marine played its first two games away from Kings Point on Friday with a Skyline Conference doubleheader up at Purchase College. The Mariners (5-0, 5-0 Skyline) earned a sweep over the Panthers (5-9, 2-9 Skyline) with 7-0 and 15-6 victories. Senior Joe Raab tossed another gem in the seven-inning first game – his second-straight complete game victory, this a shutout where he allowed just four hits and struck out double-digits for the second-consecutive outing (10). He moves to 2-0 on the season. Matthew Millen knocked in a team-best five RBIs in the nightcap after going 4-for-6 with one double.

A Bobby Barlett infield single in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded clinched a sweep for North Park in their two games against Illinois Wesleyan University Friday evening at the Holmgren Athletic Complex. Game one only lasted seven innings before the Vikings took that one by way of the 10-run rule. The Vikings controlled every aspect of the game on the front end of the doubleheader. The latter game was a bit more dramatic than the former with the visitors climbing to a 5-0 lead midway through the fourth. With the score at 7-5 in the bottom of the eighth, it was again Richie Silva coming up clutch with a ground rule double that scored Ryan Moritsugu to cut the North Park deficit to one going into the ninth.

The 15th ranked NC Wesleyan College Bishops used pitching and defense to win game one 4-0 while erupting for an 8-run inning in game two to sweep the William Peace Pacers 11-6 in USA South Conference action on Friday. With the wins, Wesleyan improves to 19-3 overall and remains in first place in the east at 7-1. Senior starter Derrick Carter dominated the Pacers in game one throwing 8 shutout innings allowing only 5 hits and one walk while striking out a career-high 12 batters. Senior reliever Kevin Williams then finished it off throwing a scoreless ninth with two Ks. Wesleyan racked up 15 hits in the victory scoring 8 runs in the 6th inning to come back from a 4-2 deficit.

Elmhurst University moved to 10-7 overall and 6-5 in the CCIW after splitting a doubleheader with Carthage College at Butterfield Park. The Bluejays won the opening contest 11-4 before dropping game two 15-1. Elmhurst scored early and often and used a strong pitching performance from Jaysn Miller to defeat Carthage 11-4 in game one. Carthage boke open a close game with a six-run outburst in the sixth inning on route to a 15-1 win in game two.

Trinity (Texas) finished off its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series against Austin College with a doubleheader sweep on Friday afternoon. The Tigers extended their winning streak to nine games with the two wins, improving to 16-1 overall and remaining undefeated after six games in conference play. Trinity scored eight runs in the final three innings to pull away from Austin College in a 12-4 win in game one, then rallied with four runs in the seventh to take an 8-6 win in the series finale.

Widener University posted season highs in runs and hits as the Pride split a doubleheader with the Alvernia Golden Wolves, winning the second game of a doubleheader 14-3 on Friday. Alvernia took the opener 3-1. In game one of the afternoon, the Pride had the tying run at the plate, but Mike Cirilli, pitching in relief, struck out the final two batters of the game. Shane Ostrowsky picked up the win for Alvernia, striking out two and allowing four hits. Cirilli picked up the save in one inning of relief, striking out three. In game two of the afternoon, Widener go up 10-3 through five, and scored four more over the final four innings to take the 14-3 win.

Wittenberg continued their electric start to the season, wrapping up the home set of their series with Case Western Reserve, sweeping the Spartans on the day, taking game one 11-1 before securing game two, 11-2. The Tigers collected 23 hits on the day, going for 14 in the first game and adding nine in the second. The Tigers added to their advantage consistently throughout the first game, before exploding for a seven-run seventh inning and securing the sweep on the day. Patrick Kenny sparked the Tiger offense going 4 for 9 at the plate on the day, including a double and a home run in the first game. Rusty Hayhurst picked up his second win of the season, moving to 2-0 after picking up the start in game one for the Red and White. Hayhurst put in 7.2 innings of work with six hits allowed while striking out five. Michael Osmond earned his second win of the season in game two, striking out two with four hits allowed.

St. Thomas had gone 699 days since it last played a home conference game on campus. The Tommies took advantage of the comfortable surroundings on Friday at Koch Diamond as they recorded a 7-1, 17-2 sweep of St. Mary's to open the 2021 MIAC season. After averaging just five hits a game in a 4-3 start to the season, all tight games, St. Thomas erupted for 24 runs and 29 hits on Friday with 10 different players contributing. In the nine-game season so far, over a 70-inning span, St. Thomas has a 1.42 ERA with a .179 battng clip allowed, with 100 strikeouts and just 25 walks.

Wilkes University continued their 2021 season with a pair of home games against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom rival FDU-Florham Friday afternoon. The Colonels (5-9) needed extra innings to put together a 7-6 comeback victory over the Devils (3-11) in game one, before shutting down FDU on all fronts in a 9-0 game two. Senior pitcher Andrew Indzonka took the mound for the Colonels in the seventh inning and threw three scoreless innings with two strikeouts. The Colonels found their walk-off run in the bottom of the ninth, with Kerdesky taking advantage of a fielding error to give the Colonels a 7-6 victory. Darren Kerdesky went 5-for-8 at the plate in both games, with four RBIs and two runs to his name. Nick Malatesta went 5-for-7 with three RBIs in his tally, while Dominick Bayo had four RBIs including a home run on the afternoon.

Hood College's Jordan Patterson struck out 10 and went the distance in a game one win but Messiah threw out the tying run at the plate in the ninth inning of game two as the teams split the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth doubleheader. The Blazers captured the opener 5-3 with the Falcons taking a 4-3 win in the nightcap. Patterson, who improved to 2-1 on the year, tossed his second straight complete game. His 10 strikeouts were just one shy of Hood's single-game record. Patterson, who went 1-for-3 in the game out of the leadoff spot in the order, allowed three runs on five hits and did not walk a batter.

It was a tale of two games for Oberlin College as it opened the season with a split against the visiting Hilbert College Hawks on Friday afternoon at Dill Field. The Yeomen, who were playing for the first time in 391 days, won the first game 14-5 before dropping the nightcap 10-0. It was an impressive debut for freshman Jake Freed as he went 5-of-7 with three RBIs. Junior David Fineman added four hits and classmate John Schooner chipped in with three. After a tough first inning in the lid-lifter that saw Hilbert post three runs, junior right-hander Ian Ashby settled in to earn his second-career win on the bump as he got through five innings, allowing just six hits. In the nightcap, Freed and Fineman accounted for four of the team's six hits but Oberlin couldn't string anything together.

UW-Oshkosh traveled to Eau Claire and swept a pair from UW-Eau Claire, 18-5 and 13-4. This was UWEC's first home game since May 6, 1995 but Matt Scherrman hit two home runs and totaled eight runs batted in to lead the Titans to a win. UWO was hit by pitch five times in eighth inning, the second-highest inning total in NCAA Div. III history, and eight times overall. In a close game in the nightcap, UWO scored nine runs on two hits, nine walks (eight consecutive) and one hit batter in ninth inning to complete the sweep. UWO's nine bases on balls in the ninth inning tied the second-highest inning total in NCAA Div. III history.

Lancaster Bible College swept a doubleheader from Penn St. Berks for the first time in program history on Friday, as the Chargers won game one, 8-0 behind another terrific performance from senior pitcher Trevor High, and then took game two, 8-4 in Reading, Pa. The victories send Lancaster Bible to 4-0 for the first time in 41 years, while the Nittany Lions dropped to 0-4. For the second straight doubleheader opener, Lancaster Bible senior Trevor High was fantastic on the hill, as he shut down the Penn St. Berks offense for seven innings. Penn St. Berks opened the scoring in game two but Lancaster Bible's two-out magic was in full effect as the Chargers swept the doubleheader. "Trevor had another great day to get us started in game one, and our ability to get hits and score runs with two outs was a huge part of today's games," Lancaster Bible Head Coach Frank DiFilippo said. "This is just a great group of guys and today's wins, like last weekend's, were full team victories. For us to continue to be successful, it will take all 27 of the guys, and they have really bought into that mentality."

Millikin swept a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin doubleheader from Wheaton (Ill.) at the Workman Family Baseball Field in Decatur. The Big Blue won game one 7-4 won took the nightcap 4-2. In game one, the Big Blue jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning but the Thunder took advantage of eight free passes in the game in the fifth scoring on a bases loaded walk and a run scoring single from Ben Weaver to tie the game at 2-2. Millikin jumped back in front 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth. Brent Beals had an RBI double and later scored on a wild pitch. Each team would score two runs in the sixth with Millikin adding an insurance run in the seventh on a RBI single from Mason McGahey. Game two was a pitchers' duel between Millikin's Caleb Buehrle and Wheaton's Sam Arnold. Buehrle was the winning pitcher throwing eight innings allowing eight hits and two earned runs while striking out nine. Beals pitched the ninth inning for Millikin to earn the save. Arnold threw seven strong innings for Wheaton allowing five hits and two runs (one earned).

The Linfield Wildcats enjoyed the sweet taste of victory on Good Friday, taking the second game of a doubleheader from the Northwest Conference-leading Whitman Blues at sun-splashed Roy Helser Field. The Wildcats and Blues staged a tight battle in game one. Whitman surged to a 6-3 win in the opener with help from timely hitting in the late going. Linfield returned the favor in game two, led by Tanner Earhart's two RBIs plus solid pitching from starter Andrew Del Biaggio and closer Sam Adams.

A day earlier than expected at the beginning of the season, Eastern Mennonite traveled to Hampden-Sydney College to take on the Tigers in an important ODAC doubleheader. At the end of the day, EMU managed to pull out a split, winning the first game, but coming up short in the second. The Royals stay above the .500 mark, coming out of the day at 5-4 overall and in conference. The Tigers sit at 7-8 on the year so far, with a record of 4-6 in conference play.

No. 17 Centenary made history on Friday as the streaking Gents tied a school record with their 16th-straight win by sweeping the University of Dallas Crusaders in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader by scores of 5-1 and 12-5 at Shehee Stadium. The red-hot Gents (22-2, 8-0 SCAC) tied a record set by the 2017 team which made the NCAA Tournament and went 35-10 overall. The Gents are now 31-6 in their last 37 games and have not lost a game since falling 8-5 at Huntingdon back on Feb. 28. Dallas dropped to 5-12 overall and 3-5 in SCAC play. The Gents continued their best start to a season in the division III era (2012-present) and will go for a new program record 17th-straight win on Saturday. Centenary entered Friday's action ranked number one in the conference in team batting (.345), team pitching (3.03), and team fielding (.973) and was the conference leader in runs and hits and with the second-most home runs.

Gustavus started its three-game series with No. 22 Saint John’s with an 8-3 victory at the Gustie Baseball Field. The Gusties blasted four home runs in the game while the pitching staff tossed eight scoreless innings and limited the Johnnies to seven hits. Gustavus improves to 7-1 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC, while the Johnnies drop to 10-2 overall and 0-1 in the league. The Gusties collected 12 hits with Nick Azar leading the way, batting 3-for-5 with a double and a home run.

No. 24-ranked Adrian College cranked out 25 outs to sweep host Albion College, 5-1 and 12-3, on Friday in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader at Frank Joranko Field. The Bulldogs have won a season-high seven games in a row to improve to 12-5 overall and 6-0 in the MIAA, while the Britons drop to 7-9 on the season and 3-3 in the conference. Adrian won the opener by scoring an unearned run that led to four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Fifth-year senior Pierce Banks went the distance on the mound to up his record to 4-1 this season. He allowed an unearned run, two walks and three hits while striking out eight batters. In the nightcap, Adrian led wire-to-wire while pounding out 15 hits including home runs byBrady Wood and Brandon Cooper, three doubles and two triples.

Wabash split its opening North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader versus DePauw on Friday. The Little Giants won the opening contest 5-2 prior to a 5-3 loss in game two. Wabash (8-8) rallied in the first game of the four-game weekend series against the Tigers (8-8) with three runs in the fifth inning as DePauw opened the game with two runs in the first inning off starter Kase Lawson. The senior righthander surrendered a pair of runs on four hits in the first inning before silencing the Tigers' bats over the final six innings. He allowed just two more hits in the game, finishing the six-hit complete game victory with three strikeouts and no walks to move to 3-2 for the year.

Texas-Dallas moved into fourth place in the American Southwest Conference Friday afternoon after taking yet another series with a split with East Texas Baptist at the UTD Baseball Field. The Comets (now 13-7, 10-5 ASC) opened Friday's twin bill with a walk-off, 4-3, victory over ETBU before dropping the series finale to the Tigers, 6-3. UTD opened the three-game set on Thursday with a dominant 14-6 victory. Zac Vorst's sacrifice fly capped a two-run 7th as the Comets rallied for a 4-3 win over ETBU to open Friday's doubleheader. Looking for a three-game sweep of ETBU, the Comets sent five pitchers to the mound in the series finale and dropped a 6-3 decision to the Tigers.

Behind solid pitching performances, Central College picked up a split Friday afternoon by winning the nightcap 4-2 following a 3-2 loss in the opener against Luther College. Facing a Norse (9-5, 5-1 American Rivers Conference) squad averaging over six runs a game, The Dutch (5-9, 3-7 conference) held them to five total runs in 16 innings. "I was just really proud of the approach we had in both games," coach Matt Schirm said. "We were right there in the first game and had some bad luck. If a couple different plays would have went our way we could have pulled that one out." Ryan Riddle scattered four hits over 7.2 innings to pick up the game two victory. Nathan Schwanke secured the four-out save without allowing a base runner.
