Worcester State University split a non-conference doubleheader with Fisher College on Wednesday afternoon at Lyons Diamond. With the split, Worcester State moves to 7-1 on the season, while Fisher moves to 20-7. Worcester State's program record six-game season-opening win streak came to a close to game one, as Fisher pitching shut down the hot Lancer bats. In what was only scheduled as a seven-inning contest, game two of the twinbill proved to be a pitchers' duel that would require extra innings to be resolved. After eight and a half innings of scoreless baseball, sophomore Chris Ausiello sent the Lancers home happy with a two-out RBI single up the middle, plating Sean Devin from third for a walk-off win.

Justin Porter tossed a three-hitter in game one, while Brittan Kittle went deep three times in the nightcap, to help Penn College sweep Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference baseball twinbill Wednesday. The Wildcats took game one, 2-0, and outslugged the Chargers in the second game, 13-8. Porter improved to 1-0 after six innings of work. He struck out eight, scattered three hits, and allowed no walks. Joel Verrico earned the save with a one inning close. He allowed two hits and struck out one. The Wildcats pitching staff overcame six errors and allowed just two earned runs (six were unearned). Hunter Jordan picked up the win after three innings on the rubber. He scattered three hits, allowed no runs, while striking out two and walking one.

In the first-ever meeting between the two teams that call Stein Diamond home, Brandeis University prevailed over Lasell University in a doubleheader, 7-2 in the opener and 2-0 in the nightcap. The Judges improve to 4-1 on the season, the Lasers fall to 4-10. In game one, both teams had eight hits, but the Judges were able to capitalize on three Lasell errors, while the Lasers were unable to take advantage of Brandeis miscues. After the visitors got on the board in the top of the first on a Charlie Danaher single, Brandeis scored seven unanswered runs.

Penn State Behrend split an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheader with Pitt-Bradford, taking game one 7-0 and falling 13-2 in the nightcap on Wednesday afternoon. Game one starter Derrick Shield threw a three-hit shutout and fanned eight for his third win and first complete game of the season Offensively, the Lions scored three runs in the fourth to break open the scoreless game and added four more in the sixth. The Panthers jumped ahead 4-0 after the first five innings and then added nine more over the next two innings for the win. Pitt-Bradford used 13 hits to generate 14 RBIs, including three home runs to split with the Lions.

Manhattanville College rallied in the middle innings and came away with a 12-11 Skyline Conference home win in 10 innings over the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (2-3, 2-2 Skyline) Wednesday afternoon from Manhattanville College Baseball Field. The Valiants now move to a 4-5 overall record and 3-4 mark in conference play. A costly error by shortstop Matt Lynch in the ninth pushed across Steven Mirra to send the 11-11 game into extra frames. With Anthony Quatrochi sitting on second base, Matt Lynch hit a two-out walk-off single off Knight reliever Anthony Caminitti to settle the 12-11 final in 10 inning.

Rose-Hulman beat Mount St. Joseph in walk-off fashion by a score of 8-7. Rose-Hulman improved to 10-8 on the season, and MSJ fell to 8-12. After holding the Lions to no runs in the top of the ninth inning, Harris Camp began the Rose-Hulman half of the inning with a leadoff single. Brett Tuttle reached base on a throwing error, which scored Camp to tie the game 7-7. Lopez bunted Tuttle to third base, bringing up Logan Cody. Cody drove a single into the outfield to score Tuttle and win the game in walk-off fashion. Cody, Camp, and Taylor led the offensive attack, each finishing with two hits. Taylor and Kluemper contributed two RBI's each, and Taylor also scored twice.

Wisconsin Lutheran College rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to knock off nine-time NACC champion Concordia Chicago 7-6 in game one of a seven-inning doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Neumann Family Baseball Field. It was the Warriors' first win over the Cougars since the 2013 season. Game two was suspended due to weather in the first inning. The Warriors evened the score at 4-4 in the seventh but Concordia Chicago jumped back ahead in the eighth with two unearned runs off an overthrow on a steal attempt and passed ball. WLC refused to go away in its last at-bat, using a single, three walks, three wild pitches, and a fielder's choice to walk-off CUC. Sophomore Danny Cain legged out a fielder's choice to score Dylan Pease from third for the winning run with two outs.

Denison continued their impressive start to the 2021 season on Wednesday afternoon with a series-opening doubleheader sweep of Wabash College at Goodrich Park in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The Big Red took game one, 10-2, before coming back in extra innings to defeat the Little Giants, 10-6, in nine innings. Denison's senior starting pitcher Taylor Perrett took control of the mound in game one, throwing his first complete game of the season with two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work. In game two, both sides played through a scoreless eighth inning before the Big Red returned to the plate in the ninth and loaded the bases after a walk to Spencer. In the next at-bat, Glennon cleared the bases with a two-out triple before Lahn followed with an RBI single up the middle and helped the Big Red recapture the lead, 10-6.

The Bearcats split the doubleheader against Franciscan in a Presidents' Athletic Conference, dropping a 4-3 decision in the opener before riding a stellar 10 runs in three innings to claim the 16-14 victory in game two. Franciscan opened the scoring in the opener with two runs on five hits in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, Franciscan would tally one hit and one run, taking advantage of a hit by pitch to earn the victory 4-3. In the second half of the twin bill, trailing 13-7, Saint Vincent scored four runs in the seventh inning to draw close. The Bearcats had a dominant ninth inning to salt away the victory.

Dickinson split a Centennial Conference double-header at Gettysburg College on Wednesday afternoon. The Red Devils rallied in game one to take the opener, 6-5, but suffered a tough 4-3 setback in the nightcap. The Red Devils looked to rally in the seventh tying the game, 5-5. They held in the bottom of the seventh and took a 6-5 lead on a homerun from Christian Kim in the top of the eighth. Game two went into extra innings as well, following a familiar script. The Bullets pulled even on an error in the sixth. They worked the bases full in the eighth and Andrew Decker hit into a fielder's choice to score the game-winner for the hosts.

MSOE got one last tune up in before NACC play this afternoon when they took on the Regents of Rockford. While the second game of the doubleheader got wipe away due to weather, the Raiders did plenty of damage in game one to get back into the win column, winning 16-6. MSOE (3-7, 0-0 NACC North) got on the board first in Wednesday's ballgame, scoring one in the second and two in the third to launch out to an early 3-0 lead. However, Rockford (8-10, 0-0 NACC South) would climb right back into the contest. Micah Overley, Blake Hall, and Noah Ernst put the Red & White back ahead in their very next at bats though, each driving in a run to put MSOE ahead for good. The Raiders would add one more in the sixth before putting up a nine spot up on the board to end the game early via the 10-run rule.

There is no place like home, at least if you are a Wells baseball player. The team returned from a pair of road conference opening doubleheaders last weekend to face Penn State Berks on Tuesday, April 7, for the first-ever home conference games for second-year head coach Ryan Stevens. The Express won both conference matchups against PS-Berks, thanks to a big inning in each game. In the first game, Wells scored five runs in the third that was enough to carry them to a 6-3 victory. In the second game, a six-run sixth inning broke open a 3-3 game and propelled the Express to a 9-3 victory. Wells finished the contest with eight hits, but half of them came in the decisive third inning by Dylan Nolan, Justin Colindres, Aaron Izquierdo and Kevin Spaeth, with the latter two each recording multiple-RBIs in the inning. Derek Shea had a career day at the plate with four hits, five RBI and a pair of runs. Shea doubled and scored Nolan in the first inning and then hit a grand slam in the sixth to cement the win.
