The nationally second-ranked Cortland Red Dragons built an 8-0 lead midway through the game and held on down the stretch to defeat host William Peace University, 9-7, in a non-league game.

Salem State swept New England College 5-3 and 3-0 at the Ripken Experience to raise their record to 4-2 on the season. Christian Burt went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI's in game one while Mason Consigli pitched a complete game one-hitter in leading Salem State to a game two victory. The Vikings jumped on top 3-0 in the first inning of the opener but the Pilgrims tied the game with a single run in the first and two more in the second. Christian Burt broke the stalemate with a two-run single in the fourth allowing Kyle Boucher to pick up the save, leaving the bases loaded after recording back-to-back strikeouts in the seventh to end the game. Consigli gave up a first inning single and allowed just three base runners the rest of the way as Salem State shutout New England College 3-0 in game two. Salem State leads the all-time series, 13-0.

Ithaca got back on the winning track Tuesday morning as the Bombers defeated Franklin & Marshall, 10-5, at Chain of Lakes Park Stadium. IC is now 6-2 on the season. The Bombers utilized a six-run fourth inning to break the game open and produced six extra base hits in the win and stole five bases. Connor Pedersen went 3-for-5, while Louis Fabbo and Buzz Shirley both went 2-for-4. Nate Scott earned the win in 5.0 innings with five strikeouts and two earned runs on four hits allowed. Ethan Buckley, Dan Kellechan and Brett Budzak combined to throw the final four innings of relief.

Oswego State improved to 8-2 in an offensive thriller, putting up 15 runs in the first two innings against the Seahawks of Salve Regina to win 22-14. The Seahwaks battled their way back but were no match for the Laker offense. Ryan Enos his early success going as he went 2-4 with four RBI's and three runs. Drew, Tammaro, Levine and B. Van Dreason also all collected three runs scored throughout the contest. Sophomore Jake Danyluk faced 13 batters allowing only three hits, and struck out six, including striking out the side in the top of the ninth inning to end it for the Lakers. Jacob Sanders finished the contest with 23 batters faced in four innings, striking out five.

Sophomore Sean Meth recorded five RBIs while junior Cooper McGrath closed out the game with 10 strikeouts and senior Colin Mann ripped a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth to lead Trinity (Conn.) to an 11-5 win over Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday night at Murren Family Field. The Bantams improve to 2-1 while the Dolphins drop to 5-5. Cooper McGrath had himself a career-night striking out 11 batters in just four innings on the mound for the Blue and Gold and earning his first win of the 2022 season.

Neumann got off to a slow start but was able to surge late to defeat Moravian University 6-5 in the home opener on Tuesday afternoon. Nate Griffin started the game and went 7.0 innings. He allowed five runs, three earned, on 10 hits while striking out three. Will Hart was able to shut the door, pitching the scoreless and hitless eighth and ninth innings to earning the victory. Shawn Vega went 3-for-5 with two doubles, scored two runs and knocked in one. Nick Glebocki went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI and two doubles.

St. Scholastica played its third game in the RussMatt Invitational on Tuesday against Spalding. Both teams were able to find the scoreboard early, as CSS took an early lead. Spalding chipped away at the Saints' lead, forcing the game into extra innings. In extra innings, Spalding took a 7-6 lead over CSS, but big RBI hits from Jack Harris and the game-winning walk-off hit by Mitchell Olson, gave the Saints the win by a score of 8-7.

Junior Fabio Kamitani faced just one batter over the minimum as he delivered a seven-inning complete game shutout to lead Wisconsin Lutheran to its first win of the season, defeating Defiance 3-0 at Terry Park on Tuesday morning. The Yellow Jackets earned a split in the doubleheader by defeating the Warriors 4-3 with a walk-off single in the ninth inning of game two at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. Kamitani earned his first win of the season, allowing no runs while scattering three hits with no walks and five strikeouts in 7.0 innings on the mound. It was his first career complete game. After a lead-off walk in the bottom of the ninth, Defiance walked-off the Green and White on a two-out RBI single down the right field line.

St. Mary's (Maryland) (4-2) hosted a non-conference weekday double header this afternoon. (Mar. 15). The Seahawks welcomed the St Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears (2-6) to campus where they swept the series 2-0. The Seahawks came out on top in game one by a score of 3-2 and then followed their performance with another win in game two, 12-9. The final was .Both games were played in seven innings. Three runs was the magic number for the Seahawks today as no team was able to reach home plate again in the contest. St. Mary's took game one, 3-2. St. Mary's was able to cushion their lead in the fifth and sixth innings thanks to RBI's from George Berbakos and Adrian Auber. The Seahawks were able to hold on and out last the Bears by a score of 12-9.

Piling on nine runs of the final two innings of the second game, Central College completed the 11-5, 12-9 sweep over Knox Tuesday afternoon. Trailing 8-3 entering the top of the sixth in game two, Central (5-1) struck for five runs in the sixth and added three more in the seventh to complete the rally. "Our team had a lot of energy all day," coach Casey Klunder said. "They didn't give up there and really battled well." In the first game DeRocher and second baseman Lucas Farren each had two hits and three RBI. Caleb Evans got the win in the opener, yielding thee earned runs in four innings. Wes Hamor secured the three-inning save while striking out six. "I don't know if I've seen a debut like that," Klunder said. "He came in and threw strikes and threw his breaking fall for strikes. If he continues to do that he is going to be effective."

Catholic smashed five home runs en route to its sixth straight victory, and eighth win in its last nine, on Tuesday afternoon, defeating York (Pa.) 15-8 at Talbot Field. The Cardinals (10-5) have now had a player hit multiple home runs in the same game four times this season, as junior Ben Nardi did the honors this time. Catholic scored six in the first and two in the second to pull out to an 8-1 lead, and would never look back.

St. Norbert junior outfielder Grady Brick's first collegiate hit was a big one, with his eighth-inning grand slam leading the Green Knights to a spicy 4-1 win over Curry College at Chain of Lakes Park. The Green Knights trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. The first two St. Norbert hitters of the frame were retired, with Adam Cootway singling to give the Green Knights a baserunner. Caden Uhlenbrauck and Trevor Cornell followed with walks. Curry then made a pitching change and Brick hammered an offering from Brandon Prescod out to left field for a 4-1 lead. Sam O'Leary then set down Curry in order in the ninth inning to lock down the win. O'Leary earned his first collegiate win with 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief with one strikeout. Trevor Reinhardt went 6 1/3 innings and allowed six hits, one run, two walks and two strikeouts.

Transylvania shut out the Alfred State Pioneers 4-0 at the Y'alls Ballpark in Florence, Kentucky on Tuesday afternoon, in a very well-rounded performance from the team. Freshman pitcher Preston Davis took the ball for the Pioneers of Transylvania, and had a masterful outing in his first start. On the afternoon, Davis went 7.0 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks, with a remarkable total of 14 strikeouts. Matt Armstrong came in to take the 8th and 9th innings on the mound, making quick work as well, allowing no hits, no walks, and 3 strikeouts. Transylvania took the game by a final score of 4-0, with 9 hits on the day. Their four runs were more than enough thanks to the tremendous pitching and defensive performance.

Bard defeated Middlebury College, 6-4, in a non-league game on Tuesday afternoon. The Raptors jumped out to a 6-0 lead, then used solid pitching and great defense to keep the powerful Middlebury offense from breaking through. The Raptors turned double plays to end rallies in the top of the sixth and the top of the eighth, and Murphy Foss struck out the side to close it out in the ninth. "We were fortunate to execute well enough to beat a good team," Bard coach Andy Salvatore said. "The pitchers kept us in it, we limited the amount of free bases they got, and we played good defense." Spencer Checkoway got the start and gave up two runs over four innings; he also went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Alex Luscher doubled and drove in a pair of runs, while Jordan Myers, Justin Fiume and Michael Hannan had two hits apiece. Jake Stacey started a pair of key double plays from third base, and he also threw a runner out at home on a fielder's choice.

Five Covenant players recorded two hits apiece and the Scots tallied 12 hits on the day in a 10-6 win over Berry on a rainy Tuesday afternoon on Lookout Mountain. The Scots scored nine runs over the first four innings to build a 9-1 lead and used a solid relief effort to hold off the visiting Vikings. Kenny Mills, Zeke Gilbert, Josh Harvey, Joseph Ridenour, and McKaleb Harlemon all had two hits each for the Scots in the victory. Covenant used six pitchers in the win. Cody Gibson (1-0) got the win after tossing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Conor Austin and Jackson Rau also had scoreless outings out of the bullpen.

Daniel Elliott drove in five runs in a four-hit performance at the plate and added 2.1 innings of scoreless relief for good measure to lead Christopher Newport to a 12-3 win over Roanoke at Captains Park on Tuesday afternoon. The Captains improved to 13-5 overall while the Maroons fell to 6-7. After a Roanoke three-run homer in the top of the second to teeter ahead of the Captains, 3-2, Christopher Newport starter Jay Cassady strapped in from that swing and dominated the Maroons lineup the rest of his outing. After giving up the home run, Cassady retired 13 of the next 16 batters with four strikeouts to keep Roanoke from threatening again. With his offense picking him up in the middle innings, Cassady left in line for the win and improved to 4-0 on the season. Offensively, Elliott was in the middle of each of the Captains' run-scoring innings in the fifth, sixth, and seventh as CNU opened up a big lead.

Penn State Abigdon got a big win on Tuesday. Like 2021, their win over Rowan loomed large in the regional rankings and the Lions got bigger prey in defeating last year's national champions. Chase Swain and Ryan McCarty each homered twice, including back-to-back bombs in a dramatic 12th inning, as Penn State Abington defeated defending national champion and eighth-ranked Salisbury University, 9-5, on Tuesday. The win improved the Nittany Lions to 8-4 on the year while the Sea Gulls, fell to 10-6. It was the first time the two played against each other since the 2019 NCAA Division III playoffs when Penn State Abington made its first and lone appearance in the national tournament. Swain went 3-for-7 with the two home runs and five RBIs. McCarty was 2-for-4 with two solo bombs and he also pitched five scoreless innings of relief, permitting just two hits and striking out four to get the win.

Playing their fifth game in five days, No. 5 North Central (Ill.) used a four-run sixth inning to prevail in a 5-1 win over Sewanee. Coming in relief, pitcher Robert Deischer picked up the win, in part by working out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the sixth. Jaedin Kotecki saw his first action of the season by starting on the mound for the Cardinals. After allowing one run to the Tigers in the first, Kotecki settled in and held Sewanee scoreless for the rest of his day. in the sixth inning, Deischer came in with the bases loaded and left all three runners on base at the end of the inning. Deischer struck out the side on the top of the seventh and cruised the rest of the way to earn his first win of the season. In his 3.2 innings pitched, Deischer struck out four while giving up no runs.

Cal Lutheran got back in the win column in today's afternoon match up against La Verne. The Leopards fought back to tie the game up but Brendan Durfee finished it off in the bottom of the fifth for the 5-4 win. Durfee singled through the right-side sending Ryan Farr across home plate. Max Kendall started on the mound for the Kingsmen and faced 15 batters in 2.2 innings. Kendall through 28 strikes in his time on the mound. Relieving Kendall was Tristan Dupont. Dupont threw 21 strikes on 31 pitches. Freshman Luke Wechsler came in during the top of the fifth to get the final out. Wechsler continued on the mound for the sixth inning and threw 10 strikes and allowed zero hits. This earned Wechsler the win.

Ramapo used timely hitting to take two wins today at 12-11 over Anderson and 4-2 over Ripon. The Roadrunners saw themselves down 10-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning before they got on the board with one run. Ramapo would tie the game up in the seventh inning scoring six runs. In the eighth, Calero drew a walk before being lifted for pinch runner Jason Cuba. Aiden Supp advanced Cuba one base with a sac bunt before Tyler Guadagno laced a single to left field allowing Cuba to score the eventual game-winning run, 12-11. Ramapo relief pitcher Matt Ivanicki and the defense were able to hold the Ravens in the ninth to secure the win.

Suffolk grabbed one win in a doubleheader against Westminster Tuesday at Ebbets Field as part of the Ripken Experience. After falling in game one, 12-4, the Rams closed the series with a 14-3 triumph over the Titans. Erratic pitching by two different hurlers hurt Suffolk in the first inning. It was until Anthony Del Prete's second choice from the pen, third Rams' wing of the day, Shreyas Parikh took over that things calmed down, but the damage was already done by Westminster as the blue-and-gold found itself in a seven-run hole. It was an entirely different ball game in the second as a pair of Suffolk solo shots in the first and second innings, respectively, boosted the blue-and-gold bats. Joe Ward got the excitement going as the sophomore barreled a no-doubter over the left center wall. The second dinger came off Luke Harder's bat to start a four-run second that pushed the Rams ahead 5-0. The Titans managed to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth with a pair of runs, but Suffolk responded with a six-run fifth to really take control, 13-2. Suffolk and Westminster met for the first time since 1997.

Johns Hopkins answered Messiah's three-run seventh inning with two runs of their own, taking an 11-9 lead they would hold over the final two innings. As was the case all night long, the game didn't remain tied for long. Jared deFaria led off the inning with a double to right. Jack Pausic drew a walk and the Jays were in business. Sam Frank was retired, but Dylan Whitney singled through the hole to load the bases. After a Messiah pitching change, Ingram laid down a two-strike bunt, Dennis Snyder, the new pitcher, fielded it and glove tossed it home, but Dustin Isanogle dropped it, allowing deFaria to score and give JHU the lead. After striking out Cooper, Snyder allowed an RBI single to AJ King, giving the Jays some necessary insurance. Matt Savedoff tossed the final 2.0 innings, picking up his second straight save.

Before Eastern Connecticut State University took the field in a battle of unbeaten teams against Skidmore College, the Warriors (6-0) learned they were ranked 4th in the latest D3Baseball.com/NCBWA national poll while receiving one first-place vote. After trailing in the second inning, 3-1, Eastern roared back with six unanswered runs against the Thoroughbreds (7-1) on a hot day at Terry Park Sports Complex en route to an 11-6 win on Tuesday afternoon. Zach Donahue, Jason Claiborn, and Luke Broadhurst all extended their on-base streaks to start the season to six games.

No. 22 Denison improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 during its current Spring Break trip at the Snowbird Classic following its 7-1 victory over Babson College on Tuesday. Just as he has done so many times so far in the early going of the season, freshman Eric Colaco led off the game by getting on base and helping the Big Red score in the very first inning as he doubled down the left field line and scored with two outs on a single up the middle by Danny Alvarez. Denison has now scored in the first inning in all eight games so far this season while Colaco has led off by getting on base and scoring the first run of the game in six of those instances. That was all Kenny Lippman (1-0) needed. Lippman made his first start of the season and pitched the first five innings allowing just two hits and no runs while Jacob Pendergraft pitched three innings allowing one hit, one walk and one run. Henry Haack finished off the ninth inning recording three straight outs after allowing a leadoff single followed by a walk.
