Sedbrook hired to lead Crown program

St. Bonifacius, MN – Crown College Athletics is excited to welcome Colt Sedbrook as the next Head Baseball Coach. 

"My family and I are blessed and abundantly grateful for this Kingdom opportunity for me to become the next Head Baseball Coach at Crown College," said Sedbrook. 

Sedbrook most recently completed a graduate assistant role in Men's Ministry at Colorado Christian University. Prior to his time at Colorado Christian, he was an assistant baseball coach at the Colorado School of Mines from 2018-2019. He most recently founded Rocky Mountain Corridor Collective, a baseball student athlete training and development program. 

When asked about the future of Crown Baseball Sedbrook said, "Crown College has and continues to be a model of truth, excellence, character, and faith. My heart is being called to Crown College to be guiding force in the mission of Crown College as well as the competitive nature the baseball program has had over the years. Our Crown College baseball team will glorify the name of Jesus and will be boldly Christian on and off the baseball diamond."

Sedbrook brings a wealth of playing experience as he played baseball at the University of Arizona from 2006-2008 as team captain. Sedbrook's playing career didn't stop there as was drafted by the Chicago Cubs organization in 2007 and went on to play for the St. Louis Cardinals Organization from 2008-2012 after being drafted three times.

Following his professional career Sedbrook was the Head Baseball Coach at Boulder High School from 2013-2016. During that time he was the Director of Recruitment/Retention and Digital Media for Gameday Baseball. 

"I want to thank President Andrew Denton, Athletic Director Michael Vigue, VP of College Relations Joel Johnson, Dean of the School of Theology and Ministry Bill Kuhn and the entire interviewing committee for entrusting in me to lead this outstanding baseball program. I believe this opportunity gives me a chance to grow as a man of faith and to fully develop as a baseball coach," said Sedbrook.

Sedbrook is a native of Broomfield, Colorado and completed a history degree at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2016 and attained a master's in organizational leadership in 2022 from Colorado Christian University.  

"We are thrilled to announce Colt Sedbrook as Crown's next head baseball coach.

"Colt brings with him a wealth of playing, coaching, and leadership experience to the Crown Baseball program and his addition is a huge win for our entire athletic department. 
The combination of Colt's experience, passion, and character will help lead our baseball program in the future. Most importantly, Colt is committed to leading a successful baseball program that will honor Jesus Christ. We are excited to welcome Colt, his wife Kimberly, and their son Thaxton into the Crown family," said Athletic Director Mike Vigue.

He enjoys traveling, watching sports, volunteering with youth baseball, supervising/planning church events and activities for elementary aged children, and living a life full of enthusiasm and gratitude. 

Sedbrook will begin his role as the Head Baseball Coach effective immediately.
