With 15 straight runs and a solid start from Will Conroy Arcadia earned a 15-6 victory over Johns Hopkins, the No. 1 team in the nation, in non-conference play on Sunday. The Knights fell earlier in the day 10-6 in a rematch with No. 3 Baldwin Wallace.

Case Western Reserve team picked up two more wins in Washington, Pennsylvania on Sunday, claiming a 9-8 victory over 25th-ranked Ithaca College in the early game and a 4-3 win against the University of Mount Union in the late contest. The Spartans completed a perfect 4-0 opening weekend with the two victories, marking the team's best start to a season since the 2014 campaign when CWRU started the season with five straight wins. The Spartans scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, including the game-winner on a pinch-hit sacrifice fly from graduate student Franco Alonso, to come from behind to defeat 25th-ranked Ithaca College 9-8 in the first game on Sunday. The win marked the team's third straight win in its final at-bat to start the season. The Spartans took the lead with a three-run top of the fifth inning and held on for a 4-3 win over Mount Union in their final game in Washington over the weekend. The CWRU pitching staff led the way in the game, scattering 10 hits and five walks over the nine innings and holding Mount Union to just three runs. Sophomore Archer Stankowski earned the first win of his career in his first collegiate start, going the first five innings and allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts. First-year Tyler Stillson followed with 2.2 innings of one-run baseball in his collegiate debut on the mound, allowing five hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Sophomore Austin McGowan closed out the victory with 1.1 innings of scoreless pitching, giving up just a hit and a walk with one strikeout for his first collegiate save.

Kai Osaka's sixth-inning grand slam to tie the game at four and AJ Anzai's seventh-inning homer to give Chapman an 8-6 lead and propelled them to an 8-7 win over Centenary (La.). Chapman's bats were ice-cold through the first five innings, but in the sixth, a single and a pair of walks sent Osaka to the plate with two down. He feasted on the newly entered pitcher, crushing one over the left field wall to make it a brand-new ball game. After tacking on one in the eighth via a long ball – there were five in the game – Henry Chabot closed out the game with a one-two-three ninth inning, earning his third save on the young season. Chabot is nearly halfway to his eight-save freshman season in 2023. Colin Godfrey started on the mound, tossing five innings of two-run ball, allowing five hits while striking out five. Tyler Buxton picked up the win, the first of his career.

Just one day after defeating the second-ranked team in NCAA Division III, the No. 16 Denison took down No. 10-ranked Cortland by a final score of 9-2 during its third and final day at the D3 College Showcase. After Nick Falter pitched six innings allowing just two hits in Denison's win over No. 2 Salisbury University on Saturday, Will Rettig (1-0) got his first win of the season after tossing five innings and allowing just two runs on two hits while walking one and striking out three against No. 10 Cortland on Sunday. In other Classis action, second-ranked Salisbury capped its stay at the D3 Showcase with a 7-6 win over the eighth-ranked Marietta Pioneers on Sunday afternoon at First National Bank Field.

Centre kept its program record season opening win streak going as the Colonels swept a Sunday doubleheader at Gary Wright Field. Centre rallied for a 7-3 victory over Capital before winning a pitching duel against DePauw by a count of 2-0. The Colonels had to play from behind in the first game of the day as the visiting Comets rallied for three runs in the third and held the Colonels at bay over the next two innings despite Centre getting runners in scoring position. Centre took the lead in the sixth with a six-run inning. Jess Miller picked up the 27th out of the game on a strikeout to improve the Colonels to 7-0 on the year.

Adrian wrapped up its opening weekend in Alabama on Sunday afternoon with a game against LaGrange. The Bulldogs went on to defeat LaGrange 6-4 to finish the weekend with a 2-1 record. Adrian's Easton Rogers opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning and extended the lead to 5-0. LaGrange responded with a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to make it a 5-2 game. The Panthers scored a run in the sixth and another in the seventh, but couldn't keep the momentum going allowing Adrian to take the victory. Jakob Charles picked up the win on the mound throwing five innings allowing three runs on seven hits with two strikeouts. Robert Leonard pitched two innings in relief where he allowed one run on four hits while Ryan Davis earned the save with two scoreless innings to end the game.

Junior Jake Elston drove in five runs on the day, graduate student righty Daniel Johnson tossed six shutout innings in game two and senior Aidan Plick delivered a walk-off single in game one as Scranton (2-0) opened the 2024 campaign with a doubleheader sweep of RIT (0-2) on Sunday at Volpe Field. The Royals captured a 14-13 victory in game one and then completed the sweep of the twin bill with a 3-0 shutout win in the nightcap. Plick's two-out walk-off single in the home half of the ninth completed a three-run rally in the inning for Scranton as Elston had tied the game earlier in the frame with a two-run double. In game two, Johnson scattered just four hits over six shutout innings and Scranton cruised to a 3-0 victory over RIT in the nightcap.

Buena Vista completed its three-game weekend series sweep of Bethel on Sunday afternoon with a 14-1 (7 inn.) victory at the Bettis Family Sports Complex. Both teams went scoreless in the first inning, but that's when the Beavers took charge, plating seven runs in the second inning and five more in the third while building a 12-0 lead. After the Royals got on the board with an unearned run in the fourth inning, BVU finished the scoring with the final two runs in the sixth inning. The top-four batters in the Beaver line-up went a combined 10-for-18 in the contest with three doubles, one triple and eight RBI. Junior Joel Garcia led the way by going 4-for-4, including a double, three RBI and three runs scored. Fellow junior Drew Taylor was 2-for-5 with a double, pair of RBI and also scored three times. Buena Vista finished the contest with 14 hits in the game, including four for extra-bases. Bethel, meanwhile, had seven base knocks but only one that went for extra-bases. Fifth-year Mason Gehling improved to 2-0 on the season after pitching six strong innings, allowing an unearned run and five hits while walking two and striking out three.

Adrian wrapped up its opening weekend in Alabama on Sunday afternoon with a game against LaGrange College. The Bulldogs went on to defeat LaGrange 6-4 to finish the weekend with a 2-1 record. Adrian built a 5-0 lead before LaGrange responded with a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to make it a 5-2 game. After Adrian extend the lead back to four, LaGrange scored a run in the sixth and another in the seventh, but couldn't keep the momentum going allowing Adrian to take the victory.

Senior Myles Webb was a triple short of the cycle with three runs and four RBI as Randolph-Macon defeated Hanover 16-1 on Sunday to give head coach Ray Hedrick his 460th career victory, a program record. RMC added a crroked number in the sixth and another in the eighth to cuise to a win. RMC reached double figures in runs for the first time this season. The Yellow Jackets tallied 14 runs in their first four games before putting up 16 vs. Hanover. Senior Drew Ramos was the starter for RMC and tossed four scoreless innings with two hits, three walks and four strikeouts to earn his first win of the season.

Luther hosted Carleton for its season opener this afternoon in the valley. The first pitch of game one at 12:01 p.m., marked the earliest the Norse have hosted a home game in February in school history. The combination of 13 hits and Harrison Blum tossing a gem propelled the Norse to a 14-1 victory over the Knights. The Norse score one run in both the first and third frames, seven in the second and five in the fifth en route to the victory. Mark Prince, who was officially 1-for-2, drove in four runs. He drove in runs in both the first and second innings with a sacrifice fly and hit a two-run double in the fifth. Peyton Lindmark, Josh Matanich and Noah Dutler were all credited with two rbi. Multiple hit games were recorded by Lindmark, Gavin Scurr, Noah Kindem and Will Heithoff. Harrison Blum was handed the opening day ball and produced a complete game victory. Blum allowed one run on one hit, struck out eight and walked one. At one point, he retired 12 batters in a row. Luther secured its opening weekend series with Carleton posting a 5-2 victory in game two. The Norse trailed the Knights 1-0 entering the bottom of the fourth, when Mark Prince hit a grand slam home run over the left center field fence. Noah Kindem drove in the final run with a double in the sixth. Prince and Josh Matanich both had multiple hit games, producing four of the Norse six hits.

Illinois College concluded action at the 2024 IC Baseball Invitational hosting ex-conference opponent in St. Nortbert College Sunday at Joe Brooks Field. The Blueboys hit a total of five home runs that propelled to a high-scoring 16-13 victory over the Green Knights. With the victory, IC starts the season with a 3-0 overall record which matches the best start in program history set back in 2015. For the game, IC was led in hits and runs batted in Adam Passmore with three hits and drove in a team-high four runs. On the mound, IC used seven different pitchers as Dylan Eaton was credited with the win.

Opening weekend for Illinois Wesleyan came to a close with a 4-3 win over Central College as the Titans improved to 2-1 on the season Sunday. The Titans thwarted a Dutch comeback with a two-run sixth to grab the victory. The Green and White came back to the plate following another 1-2-3 inning from Cole Shamhart and quickly reclaimed the lead. Jacob Cyrus and Jimmy Gurgone singled to start the frame, before a sacrifice bunt put two in scoring position. Tommy Willard was later plunked in a pinch hitting opportunity to bring home a run, with Casey Swanson also taking a HBP to bring in the go-ahead run. Will Davidsemeier entered in relief in the seventh, working around an error to toss a scoreless frame and keep IWU's 4-3 edge intact into the eighth. Luke Schwab took it from there, throwing the final two innings, to preserve the win. Schwab fanned the side in the eighth and struck out two more in the ninth en route to earning the save.

Mary Washington improved to 7-0 on Sunday afternoon with a series sweep over Westminster (Pa.) in Fredericksburg, Va. with a nail-biting final few innings, 4-1. The Eagles are the one of only five baseball teams in NCAA Division III baseball to start the season 7-0 as of Feb. 25.Mary Washington used six innings of one-run ball from Gavin Riley to propel them to the victory, while Ryan Northup proceeded to get the next four outs, pitching into the eighth. But that's when it got tense as Northup loaded the bases with an out in the eighth inning.

The Shenandoah Hornets picked up a pair of non-conference wins in a doubleheader sweep of Lebanon Valley College, 19-1 and 18-6, Sunday afternoon at Kevin Anderson Field. The Hornets won game one by a score of 19-1 behind a stellar pitching performance from Jacob Bell's 5 innings pitched, giving up four hits, and only one run, striking out five Dutchmen. Offensively, the Hornets exploded with 18 hits in the game. Frankie Ritter went 4-4, four runs scored, with a walk. Gavin Horning went 3-3 with three runs scored, and six RBI including a grand slam to dead-center. Chandler Ballenger continued his hot start to the season by going 3-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Pearce Bucher continued his hitting streak to five games with his two hits on the afternoon and three RBI. Jaime Padilla also went 2-3 with three runs scored and three RBI.

Wartburg opened the 2024 season with a 12-4 win over Grove City College at the RussMatt Invitational. Grove City and Wartburg traded leads until the sixth when the Knight's offense began to dominate. Sam Nicolino's eighth inning three-run homer was the nail in te coffin putting Wartburg ahead 12-3. "I'm really proud of this team's effort to open the season by beating a 4-0 team that won 30 games last season," said head coach Casey Klunder. "I credit the win to our guys' high energy and high level of character."

Opening day resulted in a pair of wins for Allegheny, as the Gators defended the swamp in a doubleheader against John Carroll University on Sunday at Robert M. Garbark Field. The Gators (2-0) used a pair of four-run innings in both games to overcome early deficits and beat the Blue Streaks (0-2) by scores of 5-2 and 4-2. Pitching was terrific throughout the day for Allegheny. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Walker Cunningham settled in and threw 5.0 frames of three-hit ball. The righty had command issues, surrendering three walks and plunking four Blue Streaks, but it had limited effects. Cunningham also struck out seven in his first start of the year. John Doney earned his first collegiate win. Coming out of the bullpen, Doney offered three innings of scoreless ball. The right-hander gave up a pair of hits while striking out as many. Preston Pierce slammed the door in the ninth frame to pick up his first save of the season. Brent Herrmann earned the win in game two after going 6.0 innings. It was a rocky start for the southpaw, but he settled in quickly and retired nine in a row during the third, fourth, and fifth innings. The third reliever out of the bullpen, Pierce earned his second save of the day in the final frame. He allowed runners before ending the ninth with back-to-back flyouts

Phil Marcantonio drove in four and Kyle Adorno recorded four hits as Kean improved to 6-1 with a 12-2 win over SUNY Brockport on Sunday afternoon. Brockport (0-2) took advantage of early walks in the game and plated single runs in the first and second to take a 2-0 lead. Kean scored 12 unanswered to take the victory. Nick Nemes (1-0) got his first win of the season by tossing four and two thirds innings of relief. He allowed no runs, two hits and two walks while striking out four.

Capturing their first win of the season, North Central College used an 8-run fifth inning to earn an 18-14 victory over Franklin College on Sunday at Stauffer Field. The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead after one inning of play only to see Franklin tie up the score. NCC responded to grab a 6-2 advantage after two innings. In the fourth, the Grizzlies tacked on three runs on two hits to come within one run of North Central. Again the Cardinals answered in a big way to make the score 15-10. With the bases loaded, Trey Roach doubles to clear the bases and extend the North Central lead to eight, 18-10. Franklin added a run in the sixth and three runs in the eighth as they took advantage of a North Central error to bring the score to 18-14. Luke Lehnen came in to pitch the ninth inning and secured the Cardinal victory.

Junior Jaxon Masterson had four hits and four RBIs, junior Grayson Harris went a perfect three of three at the plate with one RBI, and, senior Tillman Butler had two hits and three RBIs, as Hampden-Sydney College grabbed a 15-1, 9-3 doubleheader sweep of St. Mary's (MD) College on Sunday afternoon on Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark – Wurdeman Stadium. Junior Justin Reynolds took the win on the mound in game one for the host Tigers (3-3) against the visiting Seahawks (1-2) throwing six innings, giving up two hits and one earned run while striking out six. Freshman Adam Emhoff earned his first career win in game two for the Tigers, throwing five innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs while striking out nine.

Opening a season with high expectations, Benedictine recorded a pair of wins in Indiana, taking down Ripon 7-2 and Wabash 17-7 in eight innings. Kevin Bushnell homered twice and Brennen Fisher also went deep. Nick Kosmetatos worked five shutout innings to grab the win. The team opened the season by scoring a run right away in the first inning. Fisher hit a two-run homer in the top of the first in the second game and Benedictine did not trail. Chase Hanselman homered in the second and DeShawnte Carraway also homered in the fifth, a three-run blast. Nine players posted a hit and Benedictine totaled 14, scoring at least a run in every inning and multiple runs in four frames. The team also drew 10 walks. Hanselman scored four runs. Carraway finished with three hits and three RBIs. Fisher and Hanselman also contributed three hits each.

John Jay opened their 2024 season with a thrilling walk-off win to split their doubleheader at Houlihan Park against the University of Mount Saint Vincent, as the Bloodhounds edged the Dolphins, 4-3, in game two after falling in the opener, 10-1. The Bloodhounds were held to just one run at the official start of the season, as the Dolphins scored four times in the opening frame and tacked on three more over the fifth and sixth innings in picking up the win. The Bloodhounds faced a three-run deficit after the first two innings but valiantly responded with three runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game. The score remained knotted until bottom of the eighth, when, with the bases loaded, Mauro lofted a fly ball to right field as Bowman tagged up from third and scored the winning run, as the Bloodhounds earned their first win of the year, 4-3. "It was a good team response in game two. A relentless effort paid dividends for us today. The pitching staff was excellent and we got offensive contributions up and down the lineup. We will enjoy the win today but will turn our attention to our upcoming trip to Myrtle Beach beginning Tuesday."

Transylvania swept the weekend with their 15-13 thrilling victory over Roanoke College. Trent Youngblood played hero in the win, going to 2-4 with RBI's and the game winning two run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning. He finished the weekend 8-14 with eight hits, eight runs, and three RBI's. He is batting .571. Another standout offensively from the weekend was Henry Mitcham. He was 9-14 with four doubles, nine RBI's, and a home run and hit .643 for the weekend. With the game tied at 13-13 in the bottom of the ninth, the Pioneers had a chance to avoid extras but were set down in order. However, after a one-two-three top of the tenth, Calvin Schubert walked with two outs to bring Trent Youngblood to the plate who would hit a walk-off home run to win the game. Matthew Armstrong picked up the win after going 2.1 innings and giving up no runs while striking out three batters. He earned the save yesterday. Youngblood broke the program's all time walks record with his 75th career walk. He tied the record yesterday at 72, and was walked three times today. Transylvania starts the season 3-0 for the first time since 2007.

Penn State Harrisburg completed its opening weekend by sweeping a pair of games on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon. The Lions held off SUNY New Paltz for a 10-9 victory in the opener before defeating Virginia Wesleyan 7-3 in the final outing of the weekend. Leading 8-2 midway through the day's first contest, Penn State Harrisburg (2-1) saw its lead evaporate when SUNY New Paltz (1-2) rallied with two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, along with three more in the eighth. Entering the top of the ninth frame with the scored tied 9-9, the Lions got things started when Carlos Irizarry doubled down the left field line before Julian Belardo moved him to third with a bunt single. Drew Sassaman came through with a sacrifice fly to center field that plated Irizarry and put Penn State Harrisburg back on top. Kevin Lehner provided the power Penn State Harrisburg (3-1) needed to pull away from Virginia Wesleyan (4-5) and four pitchers combined to allow just two earned runs in Sunday's nightcap victory.

A solo shot from Jonathan Cruz in the first inning followed by a two-run shot from Brick Conway in the second inning helped Oglethorpe overcome an early deficit and beat Maryville 7-6 Sunday evening under the lights of Hermance Stadium. They were the first home runs of the season for Cruz and Conway as the Stormy Petrels improved to 5-3 on the year with their second straight win. Cruz added two more singles for a three-hit game along with a sacrifice RBI in the fourth inning that gave Oglethorpe a 5-3 lead. Maryville tied the game 5-5 in the top of the fifth, but an Isaiah Pou single through the right side in the bottom half gave the Petrels the lead back. Oglethorpe played small ball again in the sixth to pick up an insurance run on a sacrifice from Cooper Krause, scoring Jaxson Corr. Pou ended up making one of the best plays on defense in the seventh when he erased the would-be advancing runner to third on a fly ball to right. Pou made the catch in right, then threw out Nick Curry attempting to advance. Maryville's Zach Devries homered four pitches later on what would have tied the game but instead only cut it to 7-6. From there, Colin Stewart entered and retired each of the last seven batters of the ballgame to pick up his first save.

High-octane offense and shutdown defense lifted Hood to a weekend sweep over the Pitt.-Greensburg Bobcats, as the Blazers walked away with 19-5 and 11-0 victories. Austin Rhue went 4-6 across both games, drawing two walks and driving in three runs. In game one, Tyler Cooney and Joe Alexander split pitching duties in game one, combining for eight hits and ten total strikeouts Dutch DeProspero had another lights-out performance, giving up just three hits and no runs while striking out five in six innings in the second game before Finn Scott-Daniels came in to close it by striking out all three batters he faced.
