Freshman Cooper Sobeck and senior Joel Garcia each launched home runs for Buena Vista on Tuesday afternoon which aided the Beavers to a series win at Bethany Lutheran with a 7-1 victory in the finale. It was a scoreless game until the fifth inning when BVU plated four runs, capped by Sobeck's two-run blast that marked the first hit and RBI of his collegiate career. The Vikings got one of the runs back in the bottom of the inning of BVU starter Mark Eddie, but that was all they could string together. The Beavers added to their run total in the sixth with a three-run home run from senior Joel Garcia. Eddie was lifted after allowing just the one run and three hits over five innings, walking two and striking out six. Freshman Dylan Johnson and Gunner Russell each worked two innings to close the door and allowed a combined two hits and two walks.
Rhodes earned their tenth win of the season as they were victorious 16-6 over Alma. Alma, coming off a win over undefeated University of Chicago could not find the offense to match the Lynx. The Scots had an early 2-0 lead in the game, but the Lynx would chip away at the lead and put the game away in the third with a ten spot to take a 12-2 lead through three, putting Alma in a pinch moving forward. The Lynx were able to tack on four more in the fourth to take a 14 run lead before Alma was able to put some runs back on the board.
With a combined 31 runs scored, the Eagles took a 18-13 win over Lyon College Tuesday afternoon in game one. Both teams put on an offensive show recording 18 hits each. At the end of two innings, the score was tied 4-4, but the Eagles produced five runs in the third to take the lead for good. it was topsy-turvey in game two. Lyon College used a 12-run second inning to take game two 18-4. The Scots would record 11 hits in the inning and the Eagles could never climb back into the game
Stevens Institute of Technology took down Rutgers-Newark in their home opener on Tuesday afternoon, securing a commanding 15-2 victory. Eli Somers powered the Ducks (1-2) with two home runs, while Joseph Bernardo and Dario Morales contributed RBIs for RU-N (1-2). The Ducks broke the game open in the seventh then added three more runs in the eighth. Jonah Swarts earned the win, tossing three scoreless innings with two strikeouts. The bullpen combined for six scoreless innings and recorded nine strikeouts, led by three from Jacob Buurman.

Texas-Dallas improved to 7-0 with a 23-2, seven-inning victory over Arlington Baptist at Lon Goldstein Field Tuesday afternoon. In the win, the Comets set a new school and American Southwest Conference record with 22 walks. They also tied the NCAA Division II record in bases on balls while outhitting the Patriots (10-2) 17-3. UTD scored in the first, second, third, fourth and seventh innings and batted around three times. The Comets scored nine runs in the second which was highlighted by a grand slam by center fielder Austin Wallace. Both of ABU's runs came in the second inning after a pair of hits, a hit batter, a walk and an error.
It took a few days to get the first two games of the baseball season in, originally scheduled to be played on Saturday. The wait was well worth it for the Knox College Prairie Fire as they stomped Fontbonne in a pair of seven-inning games on Tuesday afternoon at Shaw Park, 14-0 and 9-1. Three pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout for Knox (2-0) in the opener, with junior Jeffrey Ripka (1-0) earning the win with five scoreless stanzas. The right-hander surrendered four hits without a walk while fanning four. Junior Ethan Rompala-Matthews and sophomore Will Vines both issued a couple walks but struck out five between them to finish the shutout. First-year Jacob Halseth (1-0) earned the game two victory for yielding just one unearned run on four hits over four frames of work, walking one and striking out two. Junior Brady Bertrand tossed a scoreless fifth and senior Brandon Ward put goose eggs on the board in the sixth and seventh to close out the win.
New Jersey City University opened its 2025 campaign on Tuesday, February 25 with a dominant, 10-3, win over FDU-Florham. The win snaps a three-game losing streak against the Devils and marks the largest win margin for the Gothic Knights since a 10-0 win in 2015. On the bump, Dom Yarson (1-0) hurled six innings and tallied a career-high 9 strikeouts for the Gothic Knights (1-0). Offensively, the Gothic Knights were relentless, racking up 15 hits led by Arian Lunar, Enrique Beltrs, Yarson, Justin Moreno, and Chris Rosario. FDU-Florham (1-2) tallied 9 hits and committed one error in the field. Rolli led the Devils with a 2-RBI homer, finishing 1-for-4 on the day.
Looking to rebound following their loss to Emory in their first home tournament of the season, Huntingdon welcomed the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe University to Neal Posey Field for a midweek matchup. The Hawks fell behind 5-0 after the first inning, but recovered strongly to take the victory, 10-8. The Stormy Petrels put together a resounding start to this game, scoring five runs on 3 hits in the opening frame to take an early lead. Huntingdon's first run came late in the second inning and closed the third with the Hawks trailing by just one, 6-5. Huntingdon kept rolling as the fifth inning got underway, evening the score at 6 off an RBI single from Pruitt. A passed ball in the sixth inning allowed for Jabez Sampson to cross home plate and give the Hawks a 7-6 lead shortly after. Sampson's run sparked a four run inning for the Hawks, sending Morgan, Kelley, and Holcomb around the bases as Huntingdon's lead grew to 10-6. The Stormy Petrels brought in two runs late, but the Hawks hung on, claiming victory 10-8.
Gustavus opened the 2025 season Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep over UW-Superior at the Gustie Baseball Field. The Gusties rolled to a 13-2 win in game one and then earned a 7-6 comeback victory in game two. The Yellowjackets started strong with a pair of runs in the first inning, albeit unearned, but it was all Gustavus the rest of the way. The Gusties put the game well out of reach in the sixth with seven runs on as many hits, along with three UW-Superior errors. Chris Knowles was perfect at the plate, batting 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, a run, and a walk. Just as they did in game one, the Yellowjackets opened the first inning with two runs. Gustavus cut the deficit to two and took the lead in the seventh. The game-winner was scored by Knowles on an infield single by Kohls. Jackson Thielen earned the win after retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced in the final three innings.
Benefiting from blasts in the eighth and ninth from Grayson Tudor and Rylan Smith to get some breathing room, Guilford College (5-0, 0-0 ODAC) proved victorious, 11-6 over Pfeiffer University (0-7), at Joe Ferebee Field on Tuesday night. Fresh off his first-career ODAC Player of the Week nod, Smith dominated at the dish again, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a home run, driving in three runs and scoring three others. Tudor also connected on a longball as one of his two hits in a 2-of-4 day with a walk and a steal, scoring twice. Jackson Marcellus got the win for GC instead, allowing an inherited runner and one run of his own to score over 1.2 innings permitting two hits against three K's to improve to 2-0. Upping their record to 5-0 out of the gates, GC is off to their best start in the NCAA-Era. The last time they opened a season winning five-or-more unblemished was all the way back in 1975 when they began that season with an 8-0 mark.
LeTourneau was operating at full capacity on Tuesday evening as they defeated Vermont State Castleton, 15-7, at Conrad-Vernon Field in Longview. Austin Wiederhold, Xander Nabors, Hayden Norris, and Zach Zarko all produced multi-hit efforts as the YellowJackets moved to 2-2 on the campaign, while the Spartans dropped to 1-3. Following an early 2-0 lead for the Spartans, Nabors would bring in the first run for LeTourneau on an RBI double to right field, cutting the deficit to 2-1. After Castleton added three more runs in the second and third innings, it was time for the offense to find its footing again. Seven unanswered runs, four in the third inning and three in the fifth inning, gave the YellowJackets a lead they would not relinquish. Norris and Dane Jones collected RBIs in this stretch, with three Spartan errors helping the cause.
