Senior pitcher Ethan Carpenter hurled five shutout innings and the Rutgers University-Camden offense erupted for 13 hits and 10 runs as the Scarlet Raptors defeated Swarthmore College, 10-4, in a non-conference baseball game on a cold, windy afternoon here Saturday. The victory lifts the Raptors to 4-1 in the early season and marks the fourth time in five games that Rutgers-Camden has scored in double digit.

FDU-Florham (3-3) swept a doubleheader vs. CCNY, winning the first game 10-2 and the second game 25-2. Mark Geist was the best hitter combined from the two games, going 6-8 and knocking in three RBI's. Jack Giovenco went 5-8 with four RBI's between the two games. Parker Muratore (Branchburg, NJ) went 3-5 for two RBI's for the day. In game one, the first runs of the game came in for FDU only to see CCNY climbed back into the game in the fourth. FDU added three more in the bottom of the fifth and one last run in the bottom of the sixth to win 10-2. The Devils put game two away in the first inning, as they scored nine. The game quieted down for a few innings after FDU held a 14 run lead. CCNY scored a run in the top of the fourth, and there were no more runs scored until the bottom of the seventh. That's when the floodgates opened again, as FDU scored five more runs. FDU scored their final five runs in the bottom of the eighth, winning game two 25-2.

Roanoke College split the first two contests of a three game weekend series with Denison, walking off game two by a score of 12-11 on Saturday. In game one, Denison exploded for eight runs in the sixth and added two more in the eighth and needed everyone. After adding a run in the eighth RC made their push in the ninth but fell just short after tallying seven runs. Denison fell behind early in the nightcap but outscored Roanoke 7-1 until the bottom of the sixth, in which the Maroons added three more to reduce the deficit. After Denison added two more in the seventh. Roanoke tied it up at 11 all in the eighth. Corey Coogan then finished the job in the bottom of the tenth with an RBI single to drive in Nate Prince.

LeTourneau clinched a series victory against MUW with a 10-2 rubber match win at Conrad-Vernon Field in Longview. Blake Vice's first homer of the season, a two-run blast to left field, gave the YellowJackets (4-3) a lead they would not relinquish, and the pitching staff held the Owls (1-7) to just two runs on five hits. LeTourneau scored first in the third and MUW would manufacture a pair of unanswered runs between the fourth and fifth innings to take a 2-1 lead, After trading runs, LeTourneau's Xander Nabors got the gears turning with a double down the left field line to drive in Dane Jones, and then Ben Jones, Isaac Price, Vice, and Zach Zarko added four consecutive RBI knocks to put the game well out of reach. Clayton Holt (2-0) earned his second win of the season for LeTourneau with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, striking out three and only giving up a hit and a walk. Starter Ryan Brewer went 4.2 innings with a season-best seven strikeouts, and Jaxson Breedlove made his collegiate debut, throwing a scoreless ninth to seal the win.

First baseman Tyler Petrosino hit a home run in both games today as #2 Salve Regina University swept the University of Southern Maine, 5-1 and 11-3, in Kingston, Rhode Island, at Bill Beck Field in a Saturday non-league doubleheader. Petrosino's first blast came in the bottom of the fourth with the Seahawks (5-0, 0-0 NEWMAC) trailing 1-0 and then jumping to a 3-1 advantage. Brayden Clark (W, 2-0) pitched seven innings and struck out 13 Huskies (0-3) after recovering from a first-frame solo dinger to Kyle Douin. With the victory in game one, Salve Regina head coach Eric Cirella '05, a three-time Academic All-America® while playing baseball for his father, Steve Cirella, became the second Seahawk coach to reach the 300-win plateau. The elder Cirella ranks first all-time in school history with 318 wins. Petrosino led off the bottom of the first of game two and hit a first pitch over the fence in right field for a 1-0 lead. The Huskies tied the score in the top of the second before Salve Regina plated four in the bottom of the frame, and then three more in each of the sixth and eighth innings. Reliever James Keating (W, 1-0) came into the game at the start of the fifth and pitched three scoreless frames for the victory. The Seahawk infield turned a trio of double plays.

Misericordia University opened its Florida trip with a 12-4 win over Heidelberg. Jack Regenye had three hits and three RBI and Brock Bollinger had two hits, two RBI and scored four runs. The Cougars opened with a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and extended it to 6-0 lead in the second. This was all the Cougars needed for Ha'oa Bode. Bode struck out five while allowing just one hit in six innings of relief to earn the win.

Trent Waire hit a walkoff two-out RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning, securing the seventh-ranked Salisbury's 3-2 victory over the Widener Pride at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. Burroughs led off the 10th with a single up the middle, then pinch-hitter Ethan Ruiz laid down a sac bunt to get pinch-runner Cole Swift to second. Ben Anderson was then hit by a pitch, and BK Wilson rolled into a fielder's choice to force out Swift at third. Up came Waire, who dunked a soft liner into left that Balcer dove for and missed, allowing Anderson to come in with the winning run and send Williams Stadium into a frenzy.

On Saturday Anna Maria College would host the Lancers of Worcester state at the New England Sports Complex in Northborough, MA for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS walked off the game 6 to 5. Taking the lead early, the AMCATS were up 3-0 over the Lancers going into the sixth inning. The Lancers would fight back with AMCATS needing a run to send the game into the ninth tied 5-5. The AMCATS would have all the momentum on their side, and with the bases remaining loaded the AMCATS Andrew Denison would get hit by the pitch off the top of his shoulder to score the game winning run and walk the game off against the Lancers.

and a late rally in the late innings of game two
allowed the team to pick up two victories over the
Engineers to move to 3-2 on the season.

Marietta College opened its home season with a doubleheader sweep of Wilson College at Pioneer Park. The Pioneers took game one, 3-2, and then completed the sweep with an 8-4 win in the second game. Austin Ziance (1-1) struck out 12 Phoenix batters in game one for the win. He scattered six hits over 7.0 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, with two walks. Cooper Fiehrer pitched 1.0 inning of shutout relief for the save. In the second game, Marietta scored two runs in the third and three more in the fourth for a 5-1 lead. Wilson scored one run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innimgs, while the Pioneers added runs in the seventh and eighth for the 8-4 win. Jacob Rocky (2-0) started and got the win throwing 5.0 innings. He allowed one run on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

Muhlenberg scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to defeat Eastern, 5-4 but fell 6-5 to earn a split of a doubleheader in Newark, New Jersey. The nightcap was a thrilling game that featured three tying or go-ahead home runs in the last two innings. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, sophomore Marc Quarrie drew a walk. He came around to score the winning run on a long double by senior Brendan Hughes, who also pitched five strong innings as the starting pitcher in Game 2. It was the second career walkoff hit for Hughes, whose first came against TCNJ in 2023. Late home runs also figured prominently in the opener, but they were only by the Eagles, who hit two in the top of the seventh as part of a five-run inning that turned a 6-5 deficit into a 10-6 win.

Senior Aaron Lautenschlager went 7 for 8 with a double, two homers, two walks, four runs and six RBI as No. 13 Randolph-Macon split an ODAC doubleheader with Washington and Lee on Saturday afternoon, winning 13-6 in game one and losing 12-14 in game two. The Generals put up three in the top of the second but the Yellow Jackets responded in the bottom of the frame to level the score at 3-3. After WLU used a homer to reclaim the lead in the top of the third, RMC went ahead in the fifth for good. Senior Bere Bauers earned the win, going 5.0 innings with four hits, four runs, two earned runs, no walks and three strikeouts to even his record at 1-1. In game two, the the Yellow Jackets took a 6-4 advantage in the fourth. The Generals scored six in the top of the sixth, five with two away, to take an 11-9 lead. WLU scored three with two away in the eighth to go up 14-12. RMC did not score in the bottom of the frame. The umpires called the game after eight innings due to darkness.

Allegheny picked up their second straight win to start the 2025 season as they defeated Concordia Chicago 13-8 at the RussMatt Invitational in Florida. The Cougars tied the game in the fourth before retaking the lead with a run in the fifth. In the sixth, the Gators produced eight runs as they pulled away from Concordia. All eight runs came with two outs. Liam Irving was walked before Jennings reached on an error. Robinson doubled to clear the bases and put the Gators back in front. Landes then singled to bring Robinson from second. After that, the next five Gators walked as the lead grew to 11-6. Irving brought in the final two runs of the inning on a single to right center. Concordia made up two runs in the bottom of the frame, but neither team came across the plate in the final three innings as the Gators collected the win.

Mitchell College picked up their second consecutive win, holding off the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 5-3, in non-conference action at Alumni Field. After dropping a pair of games at Kean University to begin the season, the Mariners have opened with back-to-back wins on their home field and have improved to .500 on the season at 2-2. Senior Eddie Kaftan (Old Lyme, Conn.) notched his first win of the spring, allowing just one earned run across five innings, striking out six. Senior Jadon Canelli (Northford, Conn.) came on in relief and earned his first save of the season, tossing four innings of one-run ball, scattering three hits and striking out five.

Franklin & Marshall (5-1) split its non-conference doubleheader against Rochester Tech (2-2) at Penn Medicine Park on Saturday. The Diplomats run-ruled the Tigers, 10-0, in seven innings in game one before suffering their first loss of the season in game two, 12-10. The Diplomats jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after two innings of play in the opener. After holding RIT to just three hits in the game, F&M plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure the run-rule victory. The win marked the first shutout-victory for F&M since April of the 2022 season, where the Diplomats defeated Gettysburg, 11-0. Bijan Anvar (2-0) had a dominant outing on the mound, striking out six and allowing just three hits and no earned runs in six innings pitched. Sebastian Holl recorded one strikeout and didn't allow any hits or runs during his one inning of relief. Franklin & Marshall fell in the second game of the doubleheader, 12-10, for its first loss of the 2025 season. F&M led 9-0 through five innings of play, but free bases plagued the Diplomats the rest of the way as 13 walks in the final three innings allowed the Tigers to come back in the contest.

Carlos Irizarry hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to punctuate No. 25 Penn State Harrisburg's 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Johnson & Wales at a blustery Babb Field on the campus of Johns Hopkins. In addition to Irizarry's game-winning solo shot, Brendan Henn and Matthew Johansen each hit two-run blasts. Reliever Dylan Sattazhan earned his second win of the season after throwing the final 3.2 innings and striking out six batters without surrendering a run. With two on and nobody out in the top of the ninth, middle infielders Alexander Ruiz and Drew Sassaman turned a clutch 6-4-3 double play before Sattazahn struck out Nicholas Fortes to strand a runner at third base and end the threat. Irizarry led off the bottom half and saw two pitches before hammering the third over the fence in left field to set off the celebration at home plate and put an exclamation point on the memorable comeback.

Hobart split a pair of games on opening day of the 2025 season at Genuardi Field today. The Statesmen fell 4-0 to Penn State Abington in their opener, but rebounded with an 11-inning 8-2 victory over Gwynedd Mercy. Sophomore Sean Garvin and junior Nate Garrett led the offense. Garvin collected three hits and three RBI, while Garrett had two hits, including a triple. Senior Nicholas Franceschi got the win in Game 2 with three innings of no-hit relief work.

Nichols College opened the 2025 season with a 13-6 win over Gordon in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon from Conaty Park at Bryant University. The game was called after seven innings due to darkness. Graduate Students Ben Jerome and Andrew Croteau each tallied two hits and Jerome also plated a team best two RBI in the win for Nichols. Seven total batters recorded a hit, including freshman Ryan Keating who recorded his first collegiate hit in his debut. Sophomore Allen Hinckley earned the start going 2.2 innings with four strikeouts. Freshman Nicholas Willand went 1.2 in his first collegiate game while striking out one batter. Senior Patrick Doyle threw 1.1 innings to seal the deal for the Bison. Senior John Steed earned his first win of the season after throwing 1.0 innings of work.

Top ranked UW-Whitewater rounded out the sweep of Asbury with a 6-3 win on Saturday morning in Wilmore, Kentucky. After double-digit runs in the two games yesterday, the Warhawks were able to showcase their defense prowess in against the Eagles. Asbury added to the scoreboard first, hitting an one-RBI double in the bottom of the first, taking their first lead of the weekend. It didn't last long however, as the Warhawks put three on the board in the top of the second with a few singles and a Sam Paden acrifice fly. A fifth inning double to put the Warhawks up 5-1 and the Eagles managed to close the gap slightly, keeping it a 2-run game heading into the final innings. The Warhawks were unable to get a hit in the seventh or eighth, but their defense stepped up to keep the lead on their side. UWW stranded three Asbury runners on base in the two frames. To close out the game, Ben Lee got the call to close the game, collecting a backwards K for the first out. After the second batter walked, the Warhawk defense ended the game with a 6-4-3 double play, capping off a great defensive showing.

No. 23 Rowan (1-1) opened the 2025 season by splitting a doubleheader with Hampden-Sydney (3-5), winning the first, 8-3, and falling in the second, 12-7. The teams will play a single game on Sunday beginning at noon. Brayden Davis went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI and Phil Sedalis hit the Profs' first home run of the year as Rowan opened the year with an 8-3 win. Mike Shannon (1-0) earned the victory, going 6.0 innings with six strikeouts. In game two, senior left fielder Christian Chambers had two hits and four RBIs for Hampden-Sydney, while senior first baseman and team captain Grayson Harris and senior shortstop Jaxon Masterson each added two hits and two RBIs. Junior right-hander and team captain Alex Fitz-Hugh earned the pitching win in long relief in the 12-7 nightcap.

Stockton University (3-2) saw their offense explode on the day with 24 runs and 37 hits, in a doubleheader sweep over Keene State (0-3), by scores of 9-0 and 15-4 on Saturday afternoon. Joe Gmitter led the Ospreys with seven hits on the day, while Jordan Nitti broke the career doubles mark at Stockton. The Ospreys jumped out early in the first game, scoring four times on three hits. Stockton added a trio of markers in the bottom of the second on two hits, one being Nitti's milestone double. The senior ripped a shot down the left field line for his 36th career double, breaking the mark set by Chris Crescenzi set in 1996. The home team tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth and that was all starting pitcher Stephen DeMilio would need. He tossed six strong innings, giving up just three hits with eight strikeouts and not allowing a walk in the 9-0 victory. In the nightcap, Stockton kept up the onslaught, batting around in both of the first two innings while scoring seven times. Freshman Chris Galasso closed out the scoring in the bottom of the eighth inning with his first career hit. With the bases loaded, the rookie smashed a double to center, clearing the bases for his first three college RBI, finalizing the 15-4 rout.

The 14th-ranked Case Western Reserve Spartans ran its winning streak to three straight games with a pair of wins on Saturday at the Derby City Classic, defeating Millikin University 12-8 in the first game of the day and coming from behind to beat host Spalding College 7-5 in the second contest. Sophomore infielder Tyler Stillson went a combined five-for-seven over the two games with three runs and two RBIs, and graduate student Jack Anderson added three hits, including a double and a single, and three runs in addition to recording the save in the win over Spalding.

Brockport swept Lebanon Valley in Saturday's doubleheader by identical 11-4 scores. The Golden Eagles improved to 5-0 to begin the season following the win. The Golden Eagles offense would bat around in the first inning, bringing in six runs to open the contest. Zach Eldred (W, 1-0) did it all for Brockport, pitching five innings of one-run baseball with six punchouts. At the plate, Eldred went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, continuing his excellent start. Brockport's offense would jump out to another hot start in game two, netting the first four runs. The Flying Dutchman would score the contest's next three runs to cut Brockport's lead to 4-3. Brockport would score the contest's next seven runs. Lebanon Valley would add a run in the sixth to cut the lead to 11-4, but Nick Ianniello would shut the door for the win. 

Ryne Rodrigues blasted a ball over the centerfield fence at Gil Coan Field, capping a six-run seventh that flipped a three-run deficit into a three-run advantage for Guilford College (7-1, 0-0 ODAC), who took game one, 14-12, but did drop their first game of the season in game two, 12-1, against Brevard College (2-9, 0-0 USA South) on Saturday afternoon. In the opener, Rodrigues' long ball was his biggest swing, but he was productive all of game one, going 4-for-4, scoring three times and driving in four. In the second contest, Jacob Ray did not get help from his defense, but still only lasted 1.0-plus with five runs scoring, two of them earned, on two hits and three walks, suffering the loss to fall to 0-1. GC could not get their offense going in the second contest and settled for a split on the day.

Ohio Northern opened its 24-25 season with a neutral site 22-17 offesive showcase victory over Millikin (Ill.) in an extra inning battle on Saturday. Sophomore Evan Russ led the Polar Bears' 21-hit offensive attack by going 5-6 at the plate with 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored. In the ninth Northern scored four runs in the top of the 9th to grab a lwead but the Big Blue stayed alive once again with a 2-out single to send the game to extras tied at 17-17. After a scoreless 10th, the Polar Bears' bats would come alive one last time by scoring 5 runs led by another RBI single by Russ. The Northern defense would end the game with a 4-3 double play and secured the win at 22-17.

Playing off-campus at Yetten Field in Waltham, Brandeis University pounded out seven extra-base hitsas the Judges defeated Amherst College, 6-4, in the New England debut for both teams. Brandeis went back on top in the fourth and added two more runs in the fifth. Brandeis tacked on an insurance run in the seventh and the insurance runs proved handy, as Amherst scored twice in the top of the eighth with two walks, two doubles and a sacrifice fly against first-year Keni Franck. Classmate Brady Lane came on and induced an inning-ending double play. After hitting a batter and giving up a hit in the ninth, Lane got a fly out and another 6-4-3 double play to end the game and earn his second save of the season.
