TCNJ stayed red hot in its rematch against Haverford Thursday afternoon, eclipsing 20 runs for the second time this season in a 22-9 rout of the Fords. No 13, UW-La Crosse opened Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a doubleheader sweep of UW-Stout, 16-2 and 12-7, Thursday afternoon. Offensively in game one, UWL finished with 16 runs on 12 hits and seven walks. Andrew Rajkovich led the Eagles offense going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, four RBIs and three runs scored. In game two, the Eagles scored 12 runs on 11 hits and four walks. Rajkovich was once again the offensive star as he finished game two 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs and three runs while Witte was 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and one run scored.
No. 1 UW-Whitewater let their bats fly in the WIAC opener. The Warhawks (11-0, 2-0 WIAC) hit eight home runs in the two victories over the Blugolds (6-7, 0-2 WIAC). Sam Paden recorded 6 RBIs with two home runs in the 12-2 victory in the first game. Matt Scolan added two of his own homeruns in the 10-1 second game win. Cade Hansen had the win on the mound in game one, going 6.0 innings with six Ks. Jack Hagen was the pitcher of recorded with 7.0 innings pitched, 6 Ks, and only five hits. On the day, Paden went 5-for-8 from the plate with three HRs and seven RBIs. Scolan was 4-for-6 with two HRs and five RBIs
UW-Oshkosh opened its 2025 WIAC schedule on Thursday, hosting UW-Platteville. The Titans put up winning scores of 4-0 and 11-6 and never trailed after the first inning in either contest. UW-Oshkosh (11-3, 2-0 WIAC) recorded its 15 runs on 22 hits, five of which went extra bases including a pair of home runs. Titan pitchers held the Pioneers (5-5, 0-2 WIAC) to 15 hits while striking out 13 batters. Mason Kirchberg hit for the cycle on the day, going 4-for-8 from the plate with a walk and notched two RBIs and three runs. The starting pitcher against Platteville in game one was Connor Brinkman. The All-WIAC stalwart pitched a nine-inning complete game, the ninth of his career. Brinkman allowed just three hits and struck out six across his 32 batters faced to move to 3-1 on the season. He put the Pioneers down in order four times and Platteville reached scoring position only twice. Connor Walters got the start in the nightcap, going six innings with three strikeouts while allowing four earned runs on seven hits and three walks. He moved to a 3-1 record. Parker Thompson, Ryan Richter, and Nick Rector each threw an inning of relief. Richter and Rector both struck out a pair of batters.
Junior Connor McAuley and senior Michael Shanahan both tossed two scoreless innings in relief as the Randolph-Macon outscored York (Pa.) 11-8 on Thursday afternoon. The Spartans expanded their lead with three in the fifth before RMC put up its own crooked number in the sixth. Junior Logan Duff started the outburst with a leadoff homer, his second of the season, to get RMC within one at 8-7. Carter Schmitt had a two-out double and scored on a single by Lautenschlager to tie the game at 8-8. Senior Chaz Harvey doubled to drive home Lautenschlager and give RMC a 9-8 advantage. After McAuley retired York in order in the sixth with a pair of strikeouts, the Yellow Jackets added to their lead in the seventh. McAuley pitched a scoreless seventh and Shanahan did not allow a run over the final two frames to record his second save of the season in the 11-8 victory.
Senior Sammy Rosenfield and two other Yellowjacket pitchers combined to hold host Hobart College to just two hits in a 6-2 victory for University of Rochester on Thursday evening at McDonough Park. Rosenfield allowed just one hit in his 6-inning outing, striking out a career-high 10, picking up the victory for the Yellowjackets who got off to a quick start, scoring five runs over the first three innings. Finishing off the game on the mound were Thomas Blaydes and Colby Cruser, who added two more strikeouts apiece in the strong pitching performance.
Alma College hosted the Adiran Bulldogs on Thursday for their home opener as well as their MIAA Conference opener at Klenk Park on a sunny afternoon. The bright afternoon turned into a sunset and darkness loomed as the Scots and Bulldogs found themselves in an affair that lasted 14 innings to decide the first conference win of the season for both squads. Alma outlasted the Bulldogs and drove in a run in the bottom of the 14th to secure a 6-5 win at home. Alma's defense got the Bulldogs to go 'one, two, three' in the top of the 14th, looking for their sixth chance for a walk-off win. Ryan Kracht did the heavy lifting in the inning with a double to right center. Easton Denton would pinch run for Kracht as Charlie Chmielewski headed up to the plate to bat. Chmielewski ended up grounding out, with Mitch Foley back up to the plate with a chance to end the game. Foley hit a bouncer towards first that was bobbled by the first baseman, allowing for Foley to reach and causing enough chaos that Denton could round third and score at home as the Bulldogs scrambled to get a throw home. Alma moves to 1-0 in MIAA play following the walk-off win as the Bulldogs move to 0-1.
Senior left fielder Kevin Matos became the first player in school history to hit three home runs in a game to power Wheaton College (Mass.) over visiting Rhode Island College, 12-3, this afternoon at Sidell Stadium on the Wheaton campus in Norton, Mass. The Lyons have won three in a row and five of their last six to improve to 9-7 on the season, while the Anchormen fall to 6-9. Wheaton pounded out 14 hits in the game, including seven extra base knocks. All but one hitter in the home team's lineup scored at least one run. The Lyons led 4-3, before scoring six times in the bottom of the fifth to break the game open with a 10-3 advantage. Matos' three-homer game was the fourth multi-longball outing of his career to extend his school record. He now has 23 career round-trippers to move him into third on Wheaton's all-time home run list. Matos finished the day going, 3-4 with five runs batted in and three runs scored. Senior catcher Lucas Pierce paced Rhode Island College at the plate with a 2-4 effort that produced an RBI and a run scored.
The University of Olivet started the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association portion of its schedule by splitting a doubleheader at Calvin University. After losing the first game, 5-0, the Comets scored three runs in the eighth inning to win the nightcap, 7-4. In the opener, the Knights scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Olivet had its best chance to score in the fifth inning when it loaded the bases with nobody out. Calvin got out of the jam with a double play, including an out at the plate, and strikeout. The Knights carried the momentum in the last half of the fifth frame when they used a leadoff triple and double to plate one run. Calvin ended the scoring with two runs in the seventh. Calvin jumped out to a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second innings. Olivet kept pace, with Calvin leading 4-2 after four. Tyler Hall had an RBI-single to score Jack Friesen in both the fifth and seventh innings to even the score at 4-4. Olivet plated three runs in the eighth inning. With only one out recorded in the last of the eighth, the Knights had two runners on base but failed to score because the next two batters struck out. The Comets went down 1-2-3 in the top of ninth before Calvin left one runner stranded in the bottom part of the inning.
Hardin-Simmons split a doubleheader at No. 21 East Texas Baptist to open American Southwest Conference play on Thursday, winning 7-6 in the first game before falling 18-1 in the nightcap. The win by the Cowboys snapped a nine-game winning streak for ETBU. The Tigers came into the game ranked No. 21 in the nation. The Cowboys rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 7-5 lead and held on in the bottom of the seventh for the victory in game one. The Tigers came out strong in the second game with five runs in the second inning and eight more in the third inning. Ben Lea had a pair of home runs as the teams split on the day.
Senior Michel Gajda went 5-5 with a grand slam, four RBI, and three runs scored on Thursday, lifting Mitchell College over the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 16-8, in non-conference action at Fran O'Brien Field. Gajda added a walk, while sophomore Michael Ficocelli was 3-6 with a homer, two RBI, and two runs scored. Freshman Braiden Alaimo added a two-run bomb, and had a two run single. After senior Jadon Canelli allowed six runs (four earned) over the first three innings, sophomore Ethan Chavez came out of the bullpen for an inning and earned the win.
Farmingdale State College picked up its sixth win in the last seven games on Thursday afternoon, as the Rams defeated John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 10-4. Nine different players scored runs for the Rams (7-6), including seniors Tyler DiRocco and Chris McGuggart, who came home in a two-run first inning against the Bloodhounds (6-8). McGuggart's RBI double to left field scored his classmate, before fellow senior Jordan Lambert plated McGuggart on a single to right. After John Jay tied the score at 2-2 in the road half of the third inning, FSC took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth when junior Ryan Plocker's two-out single down the left-field line scored Lambert from second base. Farmingdale State tacked on three more runs in the fifth frame and one run apiece in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, upping the Rams' edge to 8-2. From there, the Bloodhounds and FSC scored two runs each in the eighth inning to account for the final score.
Muhlenberg overcame an early six-run deficit to defeat Rosemont, 14-9, in its final tuneup for Centennial Conference play. The Mules (10-9), who surpassed their win total from all last season, trailed 8-2 after two innings but flipped the script with three in the third, one in the fourth and six in the fifth. It was back-to-back hits that put Muhlenberg in front in the fifth. RBI hits by four straight batters – Salvatore Cifalino, senior Aidan Legner, Jack Kent and Marc Quarrie turned an 8-6 deficit into a 10-8 lead. Senior Brendan Hughes capped the rally with a two-run single. While the offense was adding runs, the pitching staff kept the Ravens (5-14) off the board for six consecutive innings. Freshman Shane Ohl tossed the first two, picking up his second win, and senior Ethan Brochin and junior Evan Virno followed with two more apiece. Quarrie and Hughes finished with four hits each, while Kent went 3-for-7.

A five-run fourth inning propelled Allegheny College to an 8-3 victory over visiting Penn State Behrend on Thursday afternoon at Robert M. Garbark '32 Field. Temperatures were more than 20 degrees warmer than the freezing weather that postponed Wednesday's matchup against Baldwin Wallace University, and the Gators (9-8) took advantage of the beautiful conditions to down the Lions (8-6). Backed by a strong performance on the mound, the difference maker for Allegheny was a fourth inning that saw the Gators break a scoreless stalemate with a quintet of two-out runs. Starting pitcher Dawson Thomas put together a quality start for the Blue and Gold in his first win of the season. He scattered three runs and eight hits across 6.2 innings before giving way to Mitchell Swineford and Cole Litman, who shut down Penn State Behrend out of the bullpen.
No. 15 Gettysburg scored 11 runs in the final two innings for a 13-11 victory over Cairn. Jack Pistner led the Bullets with three hits and four RBIs, including a go-ahead three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning. A two-out walk to Dylan Jackson and Will Wikner triple tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. Tyler Warr followed a go-ahead before back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Cairn's Ben Gagnon poked a single up the middle to score two for a 9-6 lead for Cairn. Michael Fischetti doubled the lead off the ninth that ended with seven runs on board for Getteysburg. Cairn still had some fight left. Back-to-back one-out triples from Dylan Jackson and Will Wikner made it 13-10 before a sacrifice fly cut the deficit to two. Zach Bauers reached on an infield single but was thrown out by Tom Chanis trying to steal second for the final out of the game.
A late-inning surge lifted the Linfield Wildcats to a 5–3 comeback win over Cal Lutheran on Thursday afternoon, securing a bounce-back victory in non-conference play at Ullman Stadium. Linfield trailed 2–0 after five innings but began their comeback in the sixth inning when Tyler Eisenhut's infield single and an error by the pitcher allowed Josh Mansur to score. Tyler Marr doubled in the seventh and eventually came around to tie the game at 2–2 after advancing on a passed ball and scoring on a throwing error. Matthew Lewis scored the go-ahead run in the eighth after stealing second, advancing to third on a miscue by the catcher and scoring on Evan Maris' sacrifice fly. Linfield plated runs in each of the final four frames, including an insurance two-run double by Wyatt McClory in the top of the ninth. Mansur sparked the Linfield offense all game long, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored. Wainfeld added three hits, including a pair of doubles, while Marr chipped in with two hits and a run scored.
Senior center fielder and team captain Jack Wilson hit a solo home run in the first inning and had two RBIs, and sophomore catcher Noah Leonard had two hits and one RBI, to lead Hampden-Sydney College to an 8-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference home win past Virginia Wesleyan University on Thursday afternoon on Yank Bernier Field at the Ty Cobb Ballpark – Wurdeman Stadium. Freshman left-hander Noah Lewis gained the pitching win for the host Tigers (12-10, 6-4) against the visiting Marlins (4-11, 0-8). The Garnet & Grey have now won eight of their last nine games.
The Elmira Soaring Eagles erupted for 19 runs in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday as Elmira split its matchup against the Penn State Altoona Lions at the Holding Point Recreation Complex. Elmira won game one 19-5 against the Lions before falling 19-9 in game two of the twin bill. The Soaring Eagles manufactured a seven-run bottom of the second inning in game one to take an 8-0 lead against the Lions. After adding runs in the third and fifth innings, Elmira would bat around in the sixth and make it 19-4 in favor of the Purple & Gold. First-year pitcher Robert Shabouk earned his first collegiate win on the mound for Elmira after working one inning. In game two, Elmira trimmed a six-run deficit in the second inning to 6-4 and rallied again with four runs in the fourth inning but it was not enough. Penn State Altoona had their own big innings in game two to plate 19, all in the first five innings.
Ramapo College won their seventh straight game with a non-conference win over Alvernia University today at Jeff Maund Field, 11-6. The Roadrunners saw themselves down one heading into the bottom of the first as they scored three runs for the lead. Jesse Swartout connected on his X home run of the season, a three-run shot as Zach Novakowski and Zack Bailey each scored. A sac fly for Alvernia cut the Ramapo lead to just one before the Roadrunners scored two in the fourth inning. Matt Lalomia drove in Swartout before John Higgins laced a double to center field to plate Lalomia, 5-2. In the sixth, the Wolves would tie the game at five scoring one run on a wild pitch along with two unearned runs. In Ramapo's half of the seventh, Melvin Matias launched his first career home run over the left field fence to take the lead for good, 6-5. Lalomia recorded an RBI single before Swartout stole home for an 8-5 lead. Lalomia later scored on a wild pitch before Eric Knapp singled home two runs in Shaun Piotrowski and Higgins, 11-5. Alvernia scored the final run of the game in the ninth as Ramapo came away with the win, 11-6. Lalomia, Knapp and Matias each finished with two hits while Lalomia and Knapp collected two RBI each. Swartout led the way with three RBI in the game as he finished 1-3 with three runs scored. Will Paoli (1-0) earned the win in relief for the Roadrunners with one strikeout while he did not give up a hit or run in 1.2 innings of work.
A six-run second inning powered WPI to an 11-2 victory over Nichols on Thursday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex. With the win, the Engineers improve to 8-8, while the Bison dropped to 7-7. WPI's offense was led by Tommy Burns, who went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI. Spencer Merrick and Jacob Wiberg each drove in two runs. Zachary Roethlein, Jack Zawacki, and Jonathan Lattimer all added RBI, while Andrew Cash chipped in with a 3-for-4 performance, including an RBI. On the mound, Logan Blandino earned the win with a steady six-inning outing. He allowed just one run on five hits while striking out five and walking two. Relievers Ethan Smith (Hanson, MA) and Gage Nagy (Monroe, WA) each pitched an inning of scoreless relief to close out the game.
In a non-conference matchup, Roger Williams University defeated No. 20 Babson on Thursday afternoon at Paolino Field, 9-8. On the mound Evan Beattie took the win, tossing 1.2 innings of scoreless ball, while striking out one with a pair of walks, facing 10 batters. Ryan Camp took his first save of the season, tossing the ninth inning, coming in for relief while only allowing a walk, and picking up all three outs. Vinnie Purpura had the loss, giving up three earned runs with six runs total off five hits. For Roger Williams, Sam Weigel went 2-for-4 with three runs and a walk, while Owen Hibbard went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Will Florio also had a pair of RBIs with a hit in the matchup. Babson saw Ryan Liss go yard, hitting a three-run home run in the eighth inning while bringing in four RBIs. Ryan Hvozdovic also had 4 RBIs in the game, going 1-for-5.
In their return to Monan Park following back-to-back road games earlier in the week, UMass Boston (11-6) portrayed dominance with a 13-0 shutout victory over the Western New England Golden Bears. Breon Parker and Justin Gouveia combined for seven of the Beacons' 12 RBIs, with Parker hitting his third double of the season and Gouveia going yard for the first time this year, marking the 10th homer of his career. The Beacons used three pitchers in the win, with Tristan Ciampa making his highly anticipated return to the mound following 10 months of recovery from Tommy John surgery. He pitched three solid innings, striking out two against 13 batters, and allowed just three hits in a shutout performance. Left-hander Keenan Metrick pitched the fifth through eighth innings, earning his first win of the season. He faced 15 batters, allowed just one hit, and struck out a team-high five batters, also holding the Golden Bears scoreless. Ethan Nowak closed out the game, pitching the final two innings. He faced seven batters, struck out four, and allowed no runs or hits to seal the win for the Beacons.
Senior lefty Francis Ferguson pitched six shutout innings for his first win in an Eastern Connecticut State University uniform and senior righty Matthew Wootton gained his second save in his last three appearancesas the Warriors trimmed No. 8 nationally-ranked Salve Regina University, 5-4, in a non-conference game Thursday afternoon at Reynolds Field. The win is the fourth straight and seventh in the last eight outings for Eastern (11-4) while Salve (12-4) had a three-game winning streak stopped. A year ago at the Eastern Baseball Stadium, Eastern rallied for a 6-3 win that ended a 13-game winning streak for the Seahawks, who were also ranked eighth nationally at the time. Salve reached last year's national semifinals, finishing 40-10.
Emerson College slugged past Rivier 16-12 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex. Rivier chalked up a pair of runs in the sixth inning to knot the contest at 9-9. Emerson reclaimed a two-run advantage with a two runs in the bottom of the sixth, 11-9. Ethan Chanthompali and Braeden O'Connell start the inning with back-to-back solo homers. The Lions racked up five runs in the seventh to stretch the margin to 16-9. The Raiders tallied three runs in the eighth inning to trim the gap to 16-12. Jordi Arboleda racked up four RBIs, three hits, and two stolen bases. Jake Morvillo pitched 4.2 innings and recorded four strikeouts in his first start of the year. Huon Fitzpatrick, Lukas Phillip, Russell Silverman, and Robby Posio all made relief appearances on the afternoon.
St. Joseph's (L.I.) bounced back with a 6-5 non-conference win at No. 12 Kean University on Thursday afternoon. Kean drew four walks in the bottom of the first and sacrifice fly from Cole McGourty for an early 2-0 lead. The Golden Eagles got a run back in the top of the second, two in the top of the third and a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. The Cougars got two runs back in the bottom half of the sixth to draw to 5-4. In the seventh, Rob Page gave the Golden Eagle some insurance, putting the Golden Eagles ahead 6-4. The Cougars pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth, but SJLI reliever Dante Morabito retired Kean in order in the ninth to pick up his second save of the season.
Morgan Zientara spun a four hitter in leading Fredonia State to a 5-3 win at Oswego on Thursday. Zientara issued one walk and struckout a pair. Oswego took the lead with a run in the second and a run in the third innings. The Devils finally solved starting pitcher Jon Hayner in the sixth inning when Domenic Hickok ripped a two-run single to tie the game. Fredonia State took its first lead, 3-2, when Kyle Tedford singled in Brady Ventura in the eighth. Tedford would finish with a pair of hits. They tacked on needed insurance runs in the top of the ninth when Vinny Grazioplene doubled and Christian Cabrera singled in runs to make it a 5-2 game. Oswego would get a leadoff hit in the bottom of the ninth that would eventually score, but Zientara finished strong for the win.
What began as a nice pitcher's duel through the first four innings quickly changed in the fifth when Buena Vista broke things open with a 10-run inning en route to a 13-0 (7 inn.) home victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Thursday night to begin the three-game series. Morgan Smith earned the win and is now 3-0 on the year and 19-8 in his career. He's now tied for third on the program's all-time career wins list with both Jon Ringblom (2011-14) and Bill Drummond (1963-66). Junior Peyton Thomas, making his first varsity appearance in nearly two years, took over for Smith on the mound in the seventh and worked around a two-out single to record his second punch out of the inning to end the game by the run rule. Joel Garcia and Drew Taylor each had two hits in the game with Taylor also getting hit by a pitch, stealing one base and scoring a pair of runs.
