Today we will see two teams head home as only six teams will be on the Sunday schedule. On Friday, the higher seed won three of the games, and it was only with the pitching of Griffin Young that Wheaton (Mass.) upset Rowan.

Salisbury and Wheaton got a late start, playing into the wee hours of Sunday. Salisbury opened the scoring in the first inning but fell behind 3-1 when the inning was completed. The Sea Gulls battled back to take the lead but Wheaton kept the game close. At the end Salisbury was too much as they defeated Wheaton 11-9.

Cortland scored four eight run innings and defeated Rowan 4-2 to eliminate the Profs from the World Series. Pitching was the name of the game as both staffs were stingy and it was defensive miscues that played a big role in deciding the result of he game

Saturday's second game features yesterday's bracket one winners, St. Thomas and Washington University. WashU rolled out to an early lead but St. Thomas caught up with them and they are playing late in the game where the next run could decide the contest. In the eleventh inning it looked like a Caleb Durbin home run would win it but Jake Porter doubled home two to tie and in the next inning, Matthew Enck doubled home Josh Thorp as St. Thomas defeated Washington 8-7in 12 innings.

The day opened with an elimination game between Johns Hopkins and Adrian. Neither of these two teams was able to get the big inning or the clutch hit on Friday but they did on Saturday. Adrian was finding the combination of pitching and hitting as they open an 11-0 lead on the Blue Jays but Johns Hopkins refused to concede. They outscored Adrian down the stretch 9-1 but fell short and was eliminated by a 12-9 score.
