Carleton got the 2013 campaign started off with a bang. Three pitchers combined for the first no-hitter of the season in a doubleheader sweep of Crown (Minn.). Playing the first D-III games this season at the Metrodome, the Knights prevailed by scores of 25-4 and 17-0.

In the nightcap, starting pitcher Kevin Johnson tossed the front 5.0 innings before relievers Jackson Tears and Nolan Baker each worked a 1-2-3 frame out the pen.

The Knights hurlers faced the minimum in game two. The only mistake came during the fourth inning when Johnson hit a batter, but the Storm baserunner was immediately cut down on the basepaths by catcher Jeff Dsida.

The last no-hitter by a MIAC team was on March 16th, 2012 when three St. John's pitchers combined for the no-no.  St. Scholastica's Mickie Keuning no-hit Morris (Minn.) on April 6th, 2012.
