INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Capital's Jacob Sheaf and Connor Golden combine to no-hit the DePauw Tigers in an unconventional way during its 10-inning, 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders split the day's doubleheader with the Tigers after engaging in another extra-inning affair.

The combination of Jacob Sheaf (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Connor Golden (Galena, Ohio/St. Francis Desales) pitched a no-hitter through a total of 10 innings in its 3-2 win over DePauw (1-5). While not the norm, the no-hitter was adequately celebrated following a 6-4-3, game-ending double play induced by Golden.

DePauw's runs came by way of a three-error inning by the Crusaders, putting them down 1-0 in the third. The Tigers added another in the fourth, again by way of an error, stolen base and fielder's choice to the right side of the infield.

After Sheaf tossed six innings that witnessed six strikeouts, Golden took over on the bump and retired seven straight hitters out of the gate. Of those seven, he struck out four hitters, all in a row, and struck out the side in the ninth.

Down 2-0, Capital scored its first run by way of a passed ball in the sixth inning. They tied the game with an RBI double by Brett Colburn (Liberty Township, Ohio) in the eighth.

In the decisive 10th inning, Joe Swisher (Westerville, Ohio/Central) led the inning off by being hit by a pitch, the first of two consecutive hitters to do so. After a sacrifice pushed both runners ahead 90 feet, Jake Foley (Pataskala, Ohio) hit a walk-off single to right center field to end the game.

Golden earned the win to improve to 1-1 on the year and struck out six hitters in his four inning on the hill.

Carnahan finished the game with three hits including one extra-base hit.
