Haverford banged out 15 hits en route to an 11-4 victory over Johns Hopkins in the first round of the Centennial Conference playoffs at Preston Field. Franklin and Marshall will meet the Fords on Saturday following a 4-3 win over McDaniel.
Heidelberg was back to their winning ways, knocking off La Roche in a non-conference matchup. The Student Princes made a big rally in the bottom of the fourth and never looked back, holding on for a 12-9 victory.
The two-time defending CCC champion Endicott will have their backs against the wall for the remainder of the conference tournament after suffering a 2-0 loss to the #6 seed Salve Regina in the opening game of the CCC Tournament. The double elimination tournament continues on Friday when top seeded Endicott hosts #2 Western New England. Salve Regina travels to #4 Gordon who suffered a 4-1 loss to Curry. Roger Williams defeated Western New England 6-5 and will face Curry.
Top-seeded Alvernia defeated Widener 4-2 in the opening game of the Commonwealth Conference after a over three-hour rain delay at Santander Stadium. Kevin Becker-Menditto picked up his 14th save of the season and 45th for his career pulling within one of Division III career mark.
Senior Ben Libuda spun an eight-hitter with five strikeouts and sophomore Adam Barry went 3-for-4 as they both helped pace Worcester State to a 7-1 victory over #6 Fitchburg State in the opening round of the MASCAC Tournament at the Lyons Baseball Diamond. The Lancers will play at second-seeded Salem State in the conference tournament quarterfinals, to start off double elimination play. Top seeded Mass-Maritime will take on Framingham State who ended Westfield State's season with a 5-1 win.
Brendon Joyce hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to spark Southern Maine to a 6-2 non-conference victory over Bowdoin at Pickard Field. With one out in the fifth inning, sophomore Paul McDonough singled up the middle, and classmate Matt Bender was hit by a pitch to bring Joyce to the plate. Joyce drove a pitch from junior Michael Staes over the right-field fence for his second career home run and a 4-1 lead for the Huskies.

Junior third baseman Tyler Flaherty drove in five runs and scored four times to lead Ohio Wesleyan over Capital in the nightcap of a non-conference doubleheader at Littick Field. In the opener, the Bishops took a 5-1 lead, but Capital rallied to send the game into extra innings and pushed across six runs in the eighth to take the win.
Southern Vermont is still in the hunt for the NECC postseason as the hosting Mountaineers split a doubleheader with Becker at Bill Epstein Field. Becker scored all of its runs in the opener during its last trip to the plate to take game one 7-3. The Mountaineers then scored seven of their own in the bottom of the sixth in game two for the Mountaineers to take the series with the 11-4 victory.
Five days ago, Bethany senior southpaw Ronnie Donley pitched his third complete game of the season with a 13-strikeout performance in a 3-2 win over Crown. Thursday, the same two teams returned to the BLC Baseball Field for the Bethany home finale and Donley repeated the feat with a 10-strikeout, 5-hit effort in a 4-1 win over the Storm.
Sophomore Daniel Mantoni went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI, while junior Nick Brothers scored twice and drove in a pair of runs as visiting UMass Boston defeated Babson, 8-4, at Govoni Field. With its 10th win in the last 12 games, UMass Boston earns win number 20, the third time in program history that the Beacons have reached that mark, having won 21 games in 2002 and 32 in 2010.
