MARCY, N.Y. (May 10, 2015) - The Penn State Berks baseball team's attempt for a repeat as NEAC Champions was dashed as Penn College won the title game by a score of 9-7 on Sunday afternoon on the campus of SUNY Polytechnic.

Despite the loss, the Nittany Lions (20-17-1) will receive an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Regional Tournament since Penn College is a provisional member of the NCAA and not yet eligible for postseason play.

The Wildcats, who entered as the No. 4 seed, went 3-0 to claim the NEAC title in their first season as a member of the NEAC. They lead 4-1 after three innings, but Berks put up a four spot to go ahead 5-4 in the fourth. The Wildcats responded with five runs in their half of the inning to jump out to a 9-5 lead that held up the rest of the way.

Cory Fox paced the offense by going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run scored, and a stolen base. Pearce Harhigh, who was the hero on Saturday with his go-ahead three-run home run, went 2-for-4 with a run scored against the Wildcats. Keeanu Erb scored two runs and added an RBI.

Sean Pavlik allowed just one unearned run and struck out one batter in five innings of relief.

The Nittany Lions will find out after midnight what region they will compete in and who their first round opponent will be.
