Trace Gingerrich pulled a two-out, two-run, walk-off homer down the right field line in the 10th inning Saturday to lift Augustana to a 10-8 win over 19th-ranked North Central in the CCIW opener for both teams. The second game of what was originally scheduled as a doubleheader was postponed and will be played as part of a twin bill in Naperville, Illinois on Sunday.

Buena Vista was outhit by Loras 8-7 in both games of a IIAC doubleheader but the No. 25 Beavers won both games 6-4, 7-4 to sweep.

No. 23 Amherst split its twinbill with Hamilton, falling 6-2 in game one before Joe Feldman sent a walk off single into right field in the bottom of the 10th to lift the Purple & White to a 8-7 victory in game two.  Amherst took the NESCAC series 2-1.

Southpaw Richie Ferguson tossed a 12 inning complete game to power Kean to a conference opening sweep of #20 The College of New Jersey, 2-1 and 7-4. Ferguson tied a program single-game mark with his 12 innings pitched with former Cougars Dan Zeffiro and Matt Mantione.  In today's action, Ferguson allowed just one run and nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

UW-La Crosse opened its 2016 home schedule with a 14-4 win over St. Scholastica at Copeland Park.  The Eagles, ranked 18th on this week's D3baseball.com Top-25 Poll have played just three game in the last two weeks since returning from their spring break trip.

Allegheny came back from a 9-8 deficit with three runs in the top of the seventh to pick up an 11-9 victory over No. 17 Wooster in both teams' NCAC opener. Allegheny needed eight hits to plate its 11 runs, but five of those hits were of the extra-base variety with three doubles and two home runs. The second game of the teams' doubleheader was suspended in the bottom of the fifth Allegheny holding a 12-6 lead. Allegheny will continue that game before playing its scheduled doubleheader against Wooster on Sunday.

There was no drama as No. 16 Centenary (La.) finished a sweep of an ASC series with East Texas Baptist, winning 5-1, 8-1 to take the three game series 3-0. The Gents game plan for both games were to score early and keep the pressure on the Tigers and that is how each game played out.

Thirteenth-ranked Oswego State found some late magic and took down New Paltz, 5-4 to complete the weekend sweep. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning, Wes Randall absolutely crushed a ball, which just missed going over fence. Before the fielder retrieved the ball and got it into the infield three Lakers all scored to give Oswego State the lead 5-4.

The 22nd-ranked Frostburg State Bobcats cruised to a sweep of 11th-ranked Christopher Newport behind a pair of dominating pitching performances at a windy Bob Wells Field. Frostburg posted a 7-0 shutout of the nationally ranked Captains in the opener before collecting a 6-2 win in the nightcap. Both Bobcat starters, Greg Schneider and Anderson Burgess, remained perfect on the season.

A four-run ninth inning allowed William Paterson to open NJAC play with a 4-3, 8-7 sweep at No. 10 Rutgers-Camden. In game one the Pioneers jumped out to a 4-1 lead and held on for a 4-3 opening victory. In game two, Jimmy Kenny's ninth inning single to right center tied the score and he scored the go-ahead run when Anthony Hoagland dropped a base hit into left field.

Three Pirates homered to lead Whitworth to a 7-4 win in the opener of a NWC doubleheader at Linfield but the host Wildcats powered to an 8-2 victory in the second game. The split allowed the Pirates to increase their lead in the NWC standings to three games over second-place Pacific after the Boxers were swept by Willamette.

Chris Slivka hit two home runs in Emory's 8-4 win over Maryville.

Chris Slivka and Hans Hansen powered the No. 7 Emory Eagles to an 8-4 victory over Maryville. With the victory, the Eagles moved to a season-best 15 games over .500. For the second straight game, Slivka drove in a team-high three runs and belted his first two career home runs as well in the four-run win. Hansen bounced back after taking the loss his last time out, tossing eight strong innings of one-run ball. Hansen gave up one run on six hits, striking out four while walking only one.

No. 6 Birmingham-Southern got back on the winning track after a midweek loss to Emory with a doubleheader sweep of SSA rival Rhodes. The Panthers won 13-4, 7-1 for their fourth straight SSA victory.

Junior Herminio Azor had an RBI single in the top of the ninth to snap an 8-8 tie as fifth-ranked Randolph-Macon split an ODAC doubleheader at ninth-ranked Shenandoah. The Yellow Jackets took the opener 10-8 before falling 8-2 in game two against the Hornets. Shenandoah ended the day an half game up in the ODAC standings.

No. 3 Ramapo swept a hot NJAC rival New Jersey City at Jeff Maund Field, 6-5 in game one and 3-1 in game two. The Gothic Knights had leads in both games but Ramapo scored the winning runs for both games in the late middle innings and made these leads stand up.

The Brockport lineup came up big down the stretch for the Golden Eagles as it rallied for five unanswered runs in the eighth inning on its way to capturing the SUNYAC) lead midway through the season with a 6-5 victory over second ranked Cortland at Clark V. Whited Complex.

The No. 1 Trinity (Texas) Tigers won the opening game 11-1, and took the second half of the twinbill 15-2 with Schreiner. Trinity has now won nine games in a row, and stands 10-1 in SCAC play. The two teams conclude their series Sunday with a single game.
