Moravian closed out its 2016 Landmark Conference and regular season with a 17-5 win at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Monday afternoon in a game shortened to eight innings by darkness as the Greyhounds clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament. The Hounds finished tied with Elizabethtown in the conference standings but Moravian holds the tiebreaker after winning the head-to-head weekend on April 2-3.

Drew needed a win in their final Landmark Conference contest to make the post-season tournament and got that with a 9-0 win over Scranton to qualify as the fourth and final seed. The Rangers earn a tournament spot for the first time since winning the Landmark title in 2012.
Cal Lutheran defended its Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title for the fourth straight season, 12th in program history, after defeating Redlands 6-5 toady on the road to round out the regular season. Offensively, Davey Casciola paced the pack with a 3-for-4 day at the plate out of the leadoff spot, driving in two and scoring once. His homerun was the sixth of the season for the senior.
No. 23 Buena Vista tallied 20 runs and hit four home runs on the day en route to a doubleheader sweep that capped off the four-game weekend sweep at Luther. In the process, the Beavers assured themselves of no worse than a second-place IIAC finish.
Otterbein picked up another pair of important conference wins on the road, sweeping a doubleheader with host Heidelberg by scores of 3-2 and 6-5, the latter being in extra innings. The game-one victory clinched a spot in the upcoming Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament for the Cardinals

In their last game of the 2016 season, Gallaudet committed five costly errors, which enabled St. Mary's (Md) to come away with a 6-2 victory here in a game called after eight innings because of inclement weather at Hoy Field. This was the 349th and last collegiate victory for St. Mary's head coach Lew Jenkins, who is retiring after 22 years leading the Seahawks program.
Washington & Jefferson did all of its damage with two outs as the Presidents ran their winning streak to seven with a 9-2 win over Bethany. Dan Trettel (3-for-4), Nick Morton (2-for-3) and Michael Ruffing (2-for-3), W&J's 7, 8 and 9 hitters, went a combined 7-for-10 with two doubles, a walk, a sac fly, four RBI and five runs.
Great pitching, solid defense and timely hitting is almost impossible to beat. That's what visiting John Carroll ran into Monday evening at Don Schaly Stadium. Marietta swept the Blue Streaks by the scores of 7-1 and 4-1 to keep its one game lead in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings. Benedictine pulled closer to securing a slot in the conference tournament with a doubleheader sweep at Rockford. The Eagles won game one 14-2 and game two 5-0. Frank Greco twirled seven solid innings to improve to 6-0 on the season in the opener. Joe Palasiewicz struck out nine in eight shutout innings and the offense scored in each of the first three frames in game two.
MSOE led 5-0, but could not hold on in falling to Dominican 9-5 in 10 innings at The Rock Complex. The Raiders jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings, but allowed the Stars back in the game with a five-run third inning. Dominican then won the game with a four-run 10th inning.
The 2016 baseball season for Nebraska Wesleyan came to a close on Monday with a pair of losses at Midland University in the final GPAC doubleheader of the year. The Warriors won the first game 9-1 then took game two 3-0.

The Wheaton Thunder swept North Park in a key CCIW doubleheader. The Thunder won today's first game 4-2. Wheaton executed the sweep with an 11-1 victory against the Vikings in eight innings in the second game as the Thunder scored nine runs over the final four innings.
The Bethany Lutheran Vikings traveled to play Crown in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Storm won the first game with a walk-off home run in the 10th inning before the Vikings took game two of the split doubleheader. Bethany Lutheran would open a 4-1 lead before Crown stormed back to score four unanswered runs to take game one, 5-4. Bethany would scattered 12 hits in game two, while scoring runs in five of the nine innings of play to split the two game set.
St. Olaf had fourteen hits and five doubles to defeat Macalester in game two, 10-3, in a MIAC doubleheader at Mark Almli Field. Macalester won the first game 12-0. Macalester's Collin Brantner went 4-for-4 leading the Scots to the game one victory with two home runs and a stolen base. Macalester had 14 hits and held St. Olaf to just three.
Sophomore Dfrew Lewis pitched four strong innings for Albright, but Kutztown rallied to defeat Albright 4-3 in the season finale for the Lions at FirstEngergy Stadium. Lewis started for Albright and went 4.0 innings and allowed just one hit and one uneared run while striking out two batters. Kutztown rallied to take the lead with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and then held off the Lions the rest of the way. The game was halted after eight innings due to lightning in the area.
Wisconsin Lutheran overcame a five-run deficit to win game one 7-5 but its rally came up just short in game two falling 8-6 as the Warriors split a NACC doubleheader with Marian atNeumann Family Field.
