Junior Connor Gill gave up just two hits over seven innings and four different players drove in a run to help Babson defeat Otterbein, 4-0, in non-conference action on Friday afternoon at North County Regional Park. Babson opened the season with a victory for the fourth year in a row, while Otterbein drops to 2-1 on the year. Junior Brian McHale went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, while sophomore Jake Oliger had two hits, including his first career home run, and scored twice for the Beavers. Senior David Lennon also went 2-for-3 with a double and reached base three times on the afternoon.

Rose-Hulman scored three runs in the seventh and two in the eighth to pick up a 6-5 victory over Alma in non-conference action in Florida. The Fightin' Engineers relied on a two-run triple by Luke Calabrese and an RBI single by Davis Robeson to tie the score at 4-4 after seven innings. Rose-Hulman added two more runs in the eighth to take the lead at 6-4 on a two-run triple by Logan Cody. Alma rallied with one run in the ninth inning, but Luke Buehler came out of the Fightin' Engineer bullpen to record the final three outs and pick up his first save of the season.
Texas-Dallas picked up its eighth straight victory as the Comets opened a three-game ASC series with a 5-2 victory over the Lousiana College Wildcats. Jamie Andriot picked up the win for the Comets as he fanned 12 LC batters in 7.0 innings of work. Michael Deacon tossed a scoreless 8th while Garrett Hale retired the Wildcats in order in the 9th for his fourth save of the season.
Junior Nick Brune allowed two hits in six innings and sophomore Garrett Shea smacked a three-run HR in a seven-run second inning as the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team opned its season with an 11-0 win at Fontbonne in game one of a doubleheader. Senior third baseman Gino Cavalieri had two doubles and two runs batted in and leftfielder John Bosco also had two hits in a 10-hit attack. Brune walked none and struck out one in gaining the win. IWU went on to sweep the twinbill with a 5-3 win in the nightcap.
In order to avoid inclement weather, Redlands hosted the 10th-ranked Cal Lutheran Kingsmen at the Yard for an earlier-than-usual, 1 p.m. start. Behind stellar pitching, the Bulldogs defeated the SCIAC foes and defending national champions by an impressive score of 11-2. Felix Minjarez had seven strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work, allowinf two runs on six hits and a walk. Sophomore hurler Austin Williams finished the eighth inning and handed the ball to first-year pitcher Nick Hammel. Hammel close out the game with a perfect inning to secure the huge SCIAC victory.
Neumann shutout Martin Luther 11-0. Matt McLaughlin, John Schoelkopf and Joey Gorman all had a pair of hits in the win. Gorman also scored three runs and hit a home run. Jared Morris started the game and went 5.0 innings for the win. He allowed just three hits and struck out seven. Kutter Endy went 2.0 innings and allowed one hit and struck out two. Martin Luther lost to Grove City 9-2 in an earier game to finish 0-2 on the day.
Texas Lutheran senior pitcher Dylan Drgac tossed a complete game and struck out 11 as TLU secured a 5-2 victory over McMurry at Katt-Isbel Field to reach he double digit win mark. Drgac allowed two runs in the sixth - one earned and one unearned. He scattered four hits and had no walks.

Rhodes earned their fourth SAA win 4-3 over Millsaps. Freshman Will Heurtin hit his first collegiate home run in the top of the ninth to ensure the Lynx remain unbeaten in conference play. Heurtin tallied three runs an RBI and four assists on the night. Nick Bosma switched from third base to the mound for Rhodes in the bottom of the eighth and pitched two innings to earn his first win of the season. Ryan Palermo, the first baseman, went two-of-three with a double and two runs batted in.
Mount Union's kicked off it's spring trip with a doubleheader sweep of Hanover as they got career-high's in strikeouts from both starting pitchers in 5-1 and 3-1 wins at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. With the sweep, Mount Union advances to 2-1 overall while Hanover drops to 2-5. Junior pitcher Phil Mary threw a complete game two-hitter while recording a career-high 12 strikeouts. Senior Jimmy Scott led the Raider offense in the first game as he went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. In his first appearance of the year, Noah Skladan set a career-high in strikeouts with 13 while only giving up seven hits and just one earned run.
Senior Vinny Rotunno went eight strong innings and junior Gunnar Haskins and sophomore Jake Huber blasted Augustana's first homers of the spring, as the Vikings defeated St. Mary's (Minn.) in the final game of the team's first swing through Florida. Coach Greg Wallace's club will bring a record of 6-2 back to the Midwest, where it will be in action next against Rose-Hulman at Swanson Stadium-Brunner Field. otunno gave up seven hits and walked one in an eight-inning stint. He fanned 10 Cardinals to even his record at 1-1 for the spring. Senior Mitch Malone relieved Rotunno to start the ninth and set St. Mary's down in order to earn his second save of the spring.
For a fifth straight game Covenant recorded double-digit hits and the hot-hitting was combined with a solid start from Matt Reitz as the Scots took a 7-4 win at Berea in game one of a USA South series. Joel Johnson was a home run short of the cycle as he went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, and an RBI to lead the offense. The Scots have recorded at least 10 hits in each of the past five games, going 3-2 in those contests. Caleb Bloye and Jonah Carignan each went 2-for-4 in the win on Friday. The hits and runs were all in support of starter Reitz, who threw a season-high seven innings in the victory. Reitz (2-1) allowed two earned runs on five hits and struck out three on the day to collect his second victory of the year. Jackson Heuer came on in relief and tossed the final two innings to preserve the win.
Howard Payne split a non-conference doubleheader with Gustavus Adolphus at the Tucson Invitational, dropping game one 3-2 and winning game two 12-3. Entering the final inning, the Yellow Jackets were up 2-1 but gave up a two-run double to drop the first game. A five-run third inning for the Yellow Jackets broke open the second game to earn a split for Howard Payne.
