Freshman pitche Hayden Parker pitched a complete game four-hit shutout in his collegiate debut as he led Nebraska Wesleyan to a 4-0 victory over Muhlenberg on Wednesday at the Russ Mat Invitational in Florida. Parker, a freshman from Cave Creek, Arizona, struck out six and walked none allowing just four hits in the 9-inning complete game shutout. Spencer Scheer was the lone NWU player to have a multiple hit game, going 2-2 at the plate with a double entering the game as a reserve.

Thomas Sautel hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th and Concordia (Neb.) handed Simpson a gut-wrenching 6-5 loss at the Tucson Invitational Games. Simpson took a 5-4 lead on a double by Brandon Urius in the top of the 11th. But a walk, a pair of well-placed bunts and a throwing error brought in the tying run for the Bulldogs, who were picked to win the Great Plains Athletic Conference in 2018. Urius finished with three hits and two RBIs to lead the Storm, who have lost four, one-run games on the young season. Jared Herzog and Scott Meier had two apiece and Noah Sacco had a double.
Alvernia held on for a 6-3 win over Otterbein in spring break non-conference action in Fort Myers, Florida. The Cardinals had the game tying run at the plate in the top of the eight, but were unable to convert. Brian Kane picked up the win for the Golden Wolves, allowing seven hits and striking out three in four innings of relief. Alex Salesky led the Golden Wolves at the plate with three hits.
Senior Jason Burkett and junior Luke Klinehoffer had four hits apiece to help the Ohio Northern sweep a doubleheader over Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Polar Bears took the first game, 10-0, and rallied for a 7-4 win in the nightcap. Burkett led the way for Northern during the contests, going a combined 4-for-6 at the plate and adding a game-one pitching victory to his afternoon. Burkett also tallied four RBI and three runs scored, while junior Klinehoffer three runs scored and an RBI to his four hit day.
While Concordia-Chicago's 12-0 rout of St. John Fisher on Monday was a good sign of the Cougars returning to their 2017 form, today's 15-5 win over Penn State-Altoona perhaps better displayed the trademarks of the team that Cougar fans have come to know and love. A 19-hit attack, 10 stolen bases and key defense and relief pitching were all part of the equation that put the Cougars at 2-1 on the Florida trip and 4-2 on the season.
Penn State Behrend defeated SUNY Maritime 8-7 by way of an 11th inning walk off base hit on day four of their trip to Florida. With two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning, David Boehme lashed a double to center field to score Ian Taylor and Zach Murray to give the Lions (2-4) the walk-off victory.
Marymount remained untouched by Virginia Wesleyan, moving their all-time record to 4-0 after an 8-2 victory on the road. The six-run victory ties the highest win margin against the Marlins after the Saints (4-5) defeated them 9-3 in the last meeting back in 2015. Senior pitcher Collin Bazemore got the nod on the hill, while he was also the first pitcher to start against Virginia Wesleyan back in 2015, a day he tossed four innings for just one run and three strikeouts. Today he dealt a better game. He went seven innings for four hits, one unearned run and six strikeouts, and earned his first win on the mound this season. He didn't walk any batters after seeing 25, while he tossed 65 strikes of his 90 total.

Senior left fielder Alex Carey's bases loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning lifted the Bridgewater State to a dramatic 4-3 win over Kenyon in Vero Beach, Florida. The score was deadlocked at 3-3 after five innings of play and remained that way until the bottom of the tenth when Carey ripped a hard hit ground ball that deflected off the first baseman's glove and went into right field as Morini raced home from third with the winning run.
Maryville's Michael Hawks tossed a quality start while the Scots' offense banged out 17 hits to defeat The University of the South 10-1 in Sewanee, Tennessee. Hawks, a senior left-hander, scattered four hits over five innings of work. He struck out four Tigers while allowing only one earned run. Sophomore right-hander Joe Logsdon has a strong outing in middle relief striking out two in two innings while not allowing a hit or walk. Austin Delozier tossed a perfect eighth before Zach Price closed the door for the non-conference road victory. Maryville's offense was paced by Bryce Redaja's 4-for-5, 3 RBI effort.
The Baruch Bearcats lost both ends of a doubleheader to the Blueboys of Illinois College at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Fort Myers, Florida. The doubleheader was the first two of eight games to be played on the traditional trip to Florida. In game one Illinois College recorded a walk-off 4-3 win with a bases loaded RBI single by Austin Gusewelle. In the nightcap, the Bearcats could only muster three hits in a 6-1 loss.
Saint John's (Minn.) suffered its first loss of the season in a doubleheader split with the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. SJU clubbed its way to a 12-5 win in game one, thanks to two grand slams from sophomore designated hitter Joey Stock, but surrendered a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
