SUNY Fredonia scored two runs in the first and four in the second inning and never looked back as they downed Penn State Behrend, 9-3, on Monday. The victory also brought back the I-90 Cup to Fredonia, and the Devils now lead the series three games to two vs. their AMCC counterparts. Bailey Gauthier earned the win on the mound. He allowed two runs and struck out four in three innings.
No. 7 Rowan picked up a 3-1 victory over visiting No. 19 Salisbury in a battle of ranked teams on Monday afternoon. Right-hander Justin Smith hurled seven innings of one-run ball. He (1-2) allowed just four hits and struck out seven. Righty Dan Corvo pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts for his fourth save of the year. Right-hander Connor Reeves surrendered three unearned runs and six hits in the loss (10-3).
After a three week long layover the Rams finally got in their first conference games of the season. North Central (Minn.) captured a sweep in both games of a Upper Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader. Game one went to the Rams 3-2 with game two going to the Rams 8-3. Taylor Justice led the Rams with five hits, one a double, on the day.
Junior Tyler Weis struck out a career-high 12 batters, including six looking, and six different Engineers clubbed an extra base hit as WPI held off New England College, 6-5, Monday at the New England Baseball Complex. Jordan DeDonato finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Tropeano (walk, RBI) and Benjamin Chaffee (double, RBI, 2 runs) each went 2-for-3 for the Engineers.
Kalamazoo split the series finale with Albion on. The Hornets won three out of four in the series after winning Monday's opener 2-0 and losing the finale 6-2. Ryan Orr went the distance on the mound allowing just two hits in the game while striking out six and walking one. He held the Britons hitless through the first three innings. Orr also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a stolen base.
Keene State got eight strong innings from Andrew Houde and provided him with some early run support as the Owls defeated Plymouth State 8-4 on Monday afternoon at Owl Athletic Complex. Mac Struthers led KSC's offense by doubling twice in a 4-for-5 day. He also drove in a run and scored twice. David Sevigny went 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and run scored, while John Tarascio and Connor Walsh each drove in two runs. Devin Springfield had a hit and drew three walks out of the leadoff spot. Plymouth State got five hits from five different people, including a double from Jimmy Zimolka. Joe Routhier drove in two. Kellan Huang scattered two runs over five innings in game two, but he drove in two runs with a single in the ninth and Jack Wyman pitched four shutout innings as Albion bounced back with a 6-2 victory.

Mount Union's earned a sweep of Ohio Athletic Conference foe, Wilmington, with scores of 1-0 and 10-8 at 23rd Street Field. Mount Union advances to 18-11 overall and 8-6 in the OAC while Wilmington falls to 9-23 overall and 1-13 in the conference. Game one saw Phil Mary (5-3) earn his second consecutive complete game shutout as he struck out 11 Quakers on the afternoon. The Quakers stranded eight runners on base as Mary scattered six hits throughout the game. Joey Hollback of Wilmington almost matched Mary pitch-for-pitch as he also threw a complete game giving up just the one run on six Raider hits. Game two saw an offensive explosion as Mount Union had 17 hits led by sophomore Ryan Boyd going 4-for-5 with six runs batted in.
Hamilton broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the fifth and Cortland's comeback bid over the final three innings fell short as the Continentals defeated the nationally sixth-ranked Red Dragons, 7-5, in a non-league baseball game. Hamilton evened its record at 14-14 with the victory, while Cortland fell to 28-8. The Red Dragons will play a three-game series at Oswego, Friday and Saturday, with the top seed and hosting rights for the SUNYAC tournament going to whichever team wins at least twice.
Macalester played its third MIAC doubleheader in as many days and came away with its third split of the weekend at Saint John's University's Becker Park. The Scots defeated Bethel in game one, 6-2 behind the pitching of sophomore Jacob Simpson, before losing the second game, 9-0. Macalester is now 15-10 overall and 5-3 in conference play, while the Royals are now 18-6, 5-3 MIAC.
Ramapo edged William Paterson 6-5 in a key NJAC conference victory at Jeff Maund Field. The Roadrunners improve to 24-11 overall, 9-5 in the conference while the Pioneers drop to 21-11 overall and 8-6 in the NJAC. Ramapo starting pitcher Kevin Stewart (5-0) worked out of a few jams in the game as he scattered four hits, surrendered two runs while he posted six walks in five innings. Kyle Haag worked 3.1 innings, striking out one, walking two and scattering three hits.
Ray Vogel doubled twice as part of a four-hit effort and Mason Diederich didn't allow an earned run in 6.1 innings of relief in Eureka's 14-5 SLIAC win over Iowa Wesleyan at Henry Sand Field. The victory gave the Red Devils a three-game series sweep of the Tigers, Eureka's first SLIAC sweep since April 2013 Eureka, which swept a doubleheader from IWU in Mount Pleasant, Iowa earlier this month, won all three games of a SLIAC series for the first time since winning three at Principia on April 5-6, 2013. Monday's nine-run margin of victory was Eureka's largest in a SLIAC game since a 16-4 win in the same Principia series on April 6, 2013. The Red Devils are now 13-14-1 overall this spring, their highest victory total since winning a school-record 19 games in 2010. EC is also 7-11 in the SLIAC.
