Franklin & Marshall handled Ursinus by a 5-2 score on Sunday in Lancaster, clinching the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament with the win. The Diplomats (26-13, 12-6 CC) head into the Playoffs as one of the Conference's hottest teams, having won 10 out of their last 12 games while the Bears saw their season come to a close at 18-18, 7-11 CC. On Thursday, F&M is set to open the Tournament at home against No. 3 seed Haverford. Jonathan Cole (6-2) got the win with four shutout innings that included six strikeouts. He did not surrender a hit in his outing and allowed only one walk. F&M took a committee approach on Sunday with relievers Don DiLoreto, Ryan DeWalt and Danny Blugis combining to throw the final five frames.
First-year RHP Cameron Crowley tossed a four-hitter with three strikeouts, improving his season record to 7-0, to lead the Trinity (Conn.) Bantams to a 7-1 victory over the visiting Tufts University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference East Division baseball action this afternoon on Murren Family Field at DiBenedetto Stadium. Trinity improves to 25-7 overall and completes its division record at 8-4. Tufts improves to 23-7 overall and 8-2 in the division. Trinity hosts Union on Wednesday in its final home game, while the Jumbos visit Eastern Connecticut tomorrow.
After surrendering two runs in the first and being shut out for the first five innings of game one against John Jay , the College of Staten Island erupted for eleven in the sixth on their way to an 11-2 victory in the early matchup against the Bloodhounds. In game two, which followed a much different script, the Dolphins took a 1-0 first inning lead and were able to make it stand the rest of the way behind a complete game shutout effort from Salatore Trancucci IV, CSI's first shutout of 2019. The pair of victories improved CSI to 15-20 overall, 7-4 in the CUNYAC, but more importantly, moved CSI to within one win of securing a berth in the CUNYAC Championship next weekend. The Bloodhounds fell to 12-26 and 3-8 in the CUNYAC as they tried to play spoiler with one more opportunity coming against the Dolphins tomorrow.
Ithaca continued its winning ways on Sunday afternoon against Alfred State with a 12-3 victory at Freeman Field. Ithaca, which is now 26-7 and winners of seven straight, recorded 16 hits in the contest with seven going for extra bases. Alfred State drops to 17-18 on the season. Webb Little finished the game with six RBI on 3-of-5 at the plate and two runs scored. Junior Tom Cosentino picked up his fifth win of the season in seven innings of work. Cosentino allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Junior Charlie Hammel fired the final two innings of relief and struck out a pair.
Franklin ran their winning streak to six games on Sunday afternoon, sweeping Mount St. Joseph in their final road conference games of the year. Game one saw a quartet of Grizzly (23-11, 10-4 HCAC) hitters finish with three hits and the team hit three home runs in a 10-1 win. Game two required extra innings, but a three-run 10th ininng ended up being the difference as Franklin completed a sweep of the Lions (9-20, 2-9 HCAC) with a 5-2 win. Franklin remains two games behind conference leader Rose-Hulman.

| After two low scoring victories on Saturday to open the series, the bats woke up on day two of the four-game weekend with Rochester posting two more wins to complete a series sweep over Union on Sunday at Shuttleworth Park. Case Western Reserve wrapped up its four-game University Athletic Association series on Sunday afternoon with a 17-4 win over Brandeis in seven innings at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, Ohio. With the win, the Spartans split the series with the Judges and improved to 22-13 overall for the season with a 7-7 league record. Brandeis dropped to 15-19 on the year with the loss, including a 3-13 UAA record. The Spartans bats broke out at the plate on Sunday with the team collecting 18 hits in the contest. Six different Spartans had multiple-hit games, led by senior third baseman Jacob Kucia who went four-for-five with two triples, a stolen base, a two runs scored and an RBI. Senior second baseman Rocco Maue added a three-for-five day at the plate with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored, and sophomore outfielder Jake Ryan drove in three runs and scored two, while going three-for-four with a double.
Sophomore Ryan Yerby threw his team-best third complete game of the year to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team to a 2-1 victory over Clarkson University in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Sunday. The Engineers, who dropped Game 2, 6-5, are now 15-15 overall (11-7 Liberty League), while the Golden Knights are 17-13 (11-5 Liberty League). Yerby worked all 7.0 innings, shutting the hosts down after allowing a first inning run on a single by Mike Nee. He allowed the one run on eight hits, with four strikeouts and two walks. Ryan Riley (5-4) was the tough luck loser, surrendering two runs on five hits in 7.0 innings. He struck out 10 and walked one.
Senior Ian McIntosh had three hits including the 100th of his career on Sunday night as Scranton defeated visiting Elizabethtown 11-6 in key Landmark Conference game at Volpe Field. The Royals (14-18, 8-8) hold a half game lead over Drew in the battle for the fourth and final spot in the Landmark Conference playoffs heading into the final conference games of the regular season to be played next weekend. The Rangers, who hold a head-to-head tiebreaker of Scranton, are 7-8 in conference play after rallying for an 8-7 walk-off win over Catholic on Sunday. Drew will play a three-game series at Elizabethtown next weekend while Scranton closes out the regular season with a doubleheader at Moravian next Saturday. With the tiebreaker favoring the Rangers, the Royals need to finish with one more win than the Rangers to qualify for the postseason tournament.
Bates is one win away from another NESCAC tournament bid after sweeping Colby in a doubleheader Sunday at Leahey Field. The Bobcats (17-13, 7-3 NESCAC East) need to split a doubleheader with Bowdoin on Saturday, May 4 to clinch their third consecutive appearance in the NESCAC tournament. Senior Justin Foley tossed a complete game shutout and the Bobcats scored three runs in the fourth inning to defeat the Mules 3-0 in game one of Sunday's doubleheader. The Bobcats scored a run in the first, two runs in the second and three runs in the third and never trailed in a 7-2 win over the Mules in game two of Sunday's doubleheader.
St. Olaf got quality starts from sophomore Hunter Barber and junior Jesse Retzlaff on its way to 3-2 and 6-1 victories over Macalester in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Sunday at Mark Almli Field. Barber and Retzlaff each picked up their fifth victories of the season for St. Olaf (21-10, 10-6 MIAC). Barber threw a complete game in the opener against Macalester (16-17, 7-9 MIAC) before Retzlaff worked five strong innings in the nightcap, with both starters yielding only one earned run apiece.

On Senior Day, the Class of 2019 helped the Heidelberg University baseball team punch its ticket to the four-time Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament by sweeping Wilmington by twin 9-4 scores. Furthermore, the Student Princes will head into the final weekend of conference play locked in a tie for first place with Baldwin Wallace. All of Head Coach Chad Fitzgerald's healthy seniors saw action on the day -- including reserve catcher Zach Hunter who picked up his first collegiate hit and RBI. Heidelberg moved to 25-11 overall, 12-4 in the OAC. Wilmington slipped to 7-27 and 3-13. Six Student Princes had multi-hit afternoons, including senior Kane Bateman who went 7-for-10 with five runs scored. Kyle Jenkins had five hits while Zach Doran and Matt Psychas each had four hits.
Ramapo swept Rutgers-Camden University in NJAC action today 11-7 in game one and 23-6 in game two. With the sweep the Roadrunners improve to 23-11 overall and 13-4 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors now move to 17-20 and 8-9 in the conference. The Roadrunners never trailed in either contest as they tallied 40 hits on the day. Kyle Buser led Ramapo with eight hits.
Following a two-hour rain delay, the CSAC doubleheader between Keystone and visiting Valley Forge was able to be played as the Giants won the opener, 10-1, followed by a 7-5 win in game two. The Giants scored in every inning and enjoyed 11 hits in the opener. The Giants opened up a 7-0 lead before a five-run seventh inning rally by the Patriots made the game interesting. Junior Zabdiel Parilla came in to slam the door and earn his second save of the year.
Williams took on Hamilton College in the final two games of the three-part series. After the first game yesterday, the Ephs were looking to complete their sweep in today's action. Williams was held to two runs in each game, shutting out Hamilton in game one but losing 3-2 in the second game of the day. With this weekend's baseball completed, the Ephs are entering the later portion of their season. Only five regular games separate the Ephs from a postseason run. Two of these games are out of conference, while the final three will be in conference against Wesleyan.
Marietta scored three runs with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to come from behind and beat La Roche, 5-4, in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon. In the first game, a seven-inning contest, La Roche erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to the 12-0 win.. Marietta moves to 17-19 on the season, while La Roche is now 24-11 overall.
Delaware Valley put a bow on the 2019 campaign with a doubleheader split with visiting College of New Rochelle, and honored its seniors in between games. The Aggies finish the year 13-25 overall and 7-14 in league games. The seven wins in conference play is the most for the program since the 2012 season. DelVal's Neal Flogel got the chance to play hero in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and he capitalized. He drove a ball the other way, into right field, and Matt DeLaRosa who was in as a pinch runner trotted home from third for the walk-off, 8-7, victory. The Blue Angels scored eight unanswered runs over six innings to take the nighcap 8-3.
Junior Nate Tellier rapped out six hits, including a perfect 4-for-4 effort in the nightcap, as UMass Dartmouth swept a Little East Conference baseball doubleheader from Keene State by scores of 4-1 in the opener and 11-1 in the nightcap at the Owl Athletic Complex. The visiting Corsairs (16-17, 7-6 LEC) extended their winning streak to four straight and moved into a tie for third place in the Little East standings.
Southern Vermont picked up a valuable pair of New England Collegiate Conference victories Sunday as the Mountaineers defeated Dean College 9-8 and then 9-2 at Longley Field. SVC used an eight-run sixth in game one to pull ahead, and the Mountaineers were able to hold on for the slim victory. Southern Vermont then scored five times in the top of the first during game two, and the visitors held the Bulldogs to just a pair of scores to claim the sweep. The Mountaineers (13-15-1, 7-7 NECC) are back at it on Monday as they take on Eastern Nazarene College at the New England Baseball Complex
