The Spartans scored a run in the first inning off Brandeis' starter Cam Roberts, but the Judges answered back with two in the top of the second to take a one-run lead.  However, the Spartans put up eight runs in the bottom of the second inning, as CWRU sent 13 men to the plate in the inning, with the first eight each reaching base.

Brandeis scored single runs in the third and fifth innings, but CWRU piled on the runs with a five run fourth and a three-run bottom of the sixth.  Junior right-handed pitcher Paul Slota pitched the final two innings of the game, striking out four batters and allowing just one hit, to close out the game, which was shortened by virtue of the 10-run rule.

Roberts took the loss for Brandeis, dropping to 3-3 on the season.

The Spartans will complete their regular season on Tuesday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m., when the team plays host to John Carroll University at Nobby's Ballpark.
