Rutgers-Camden received strong pitching, a milestone performance and broke open a tie game with a five-run seventh inning on the way to an 8-2 victory at Ursinus. The win was the third in two days for the Scarlet Raptors, who swept a doubleheader from Oneonta Sunday, have now won four straight games and stand at 4-1 overall.  It was the season opener for Ursinus. The Scarlet Raptors had heroes up and down the lineup, beginning with starting pitcher Ethan Pritchett, a junior transfer who was making his second appearance at Rutgers-Camden and his first start. Pritchett hurled five innings of two-hit shutout ball, walking four and striking out nine batters.

The St. Vincent Bearcats rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 11th inning to defeat Aurora by a score of 6-5 in Auburndale, Florida. The Spartans scored a pair of runs in the top of the 11th, but Saint Vincent, after the first two batters of the inning left the team with two outs, came back to plate three runs to win the game. Jordan Sabol, facing a 3-2 count, hit a sharp single to right center that easily scored Tim Beimel to tie the game. Sabol took a wide turn around first and got caught between first and second as the throw toward third was cut off. The third baseman threw to first, catching Sabol in a rundown. The Aurora players focused on the rundown, taking their eyes off Johnny Daggs, who scored uncontested from third for the winning run. Colin Parks (1-0) earned the win in relief, getting SVC out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the 11th.

St. Mary's (Md) (4-2) traveled to Washington College to take on the Shoremen (2-2) in non-conference action. The Seahawks edged the Shoremen by a final score of 6-3. Bowen Plagge led the Seahawks from the plate with two hits. On the mound, St. Mary's College received excellent pitching from starter Tyson Johnson. Johnson pitched seven strong innings and allowed just one earned run. Additionally, Johnson struck out four batters on his way to earning the victory. As mentioned, Roeder pitched in relief and earned the save.

St. Scholastica blanked the UW-La Crosse in game one and then rallied to force a tie in game two before it was called due to time limit in a doubleheader on Monday at U.S. Bank Stadium.  The Saints scored six runs in the first two innings and held the Eagles off the scoreboard to take game one 7-0. The Eagles scored five runs in the top of the first, but the Saints would crawl back in and ultimately tie the game at 6-6 in the fourth. Neither team scored the rest of the way and the game ended in a 6-6 tie after six innings due to time limit.

Kicking off a three-game swing at the Ripken Experience Complex in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Christopher Newport exploded for 18 runs in a dominant victory over Easten Nazarene (4-2). The Captains improved to 6-4 with an 18-5 win that saw the team belt eight extra-base hits including a pair of three-run home runs. One of the two round-trippers came off the bat of senior Evan Baer in the top of the first inning when he blistered a line drive laser over the left field wall with two on and two out in his first at-bat. His three-run bomb gave the Captains a quick 4-0 lead at the start of the game and allowed rookie starter Aidan Henning some breathing room in his first career start.

Rose-Hulman pounded out 13 runs in the last three innings to earn a 16-6 victory over Fontbonne in the 2020 baseball opener at Lake Myrtle Park. Rose-Hulman trailed 3-2 entering the fifth inning, but five runs in the fourth, seven runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh allowed the Fightin' Engineers to pull away and pick up the win. AJ Ernst led the offensive attack with three singles, two runs scored and two RBIs.  Logan Cody added a double, triple, three runs and two RBIs.

Wartburg followed a Sunday split with the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a 17-1 victory Monday afternoon over Chatham. Versus Chatham, the Orange & Black tallied 15 hits while Manny Jeffery three a complete game with nine strikeouts with seven innings while allowing run run off three hits. Eight Knights' batters recorded hits, including a 4-for-5 performance for DH Ethan Hayes. Wartburg also notched 17 RBI, including four doubles, and a homer from Tyler Hovick. Ben Dekruyf led with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.

and completed a three-game sweep of York Sunday, defeating the
York Spartans 11-3 behind a strong pitching performance from
sophomore Brandon Pond  (pictured) and a 3-for-3 day at the dish

New England College kept the bats hot as they hit four home runs en route to 18-13 win over Manhattanville. This was the first time Manhattanville and NEC have played each other. Harutaro Takahashi lead both teams today with 4 hits and 4 runs scored. Mike Ciccotelli set a career-high in RBIs with 5.

A wild pitch with bases loaded plated the game-winning run in the 10th inning as Danny Brown scored the decisive run to give the No. 14 Mass-Boston Beacons a come-from-behind 8-7 extra inning win over Suffolk at Monan Park. With the win, the Beacons are now 2-0 to start the season for the third time since the 2014 campaign. The Beacons have never started the season with back-to-back extra inning wins in the program's history before.

Crown came back from a five-run deficit to defeat the Macalester Scots 16-9 in the Storm's opening game of the season at US Bank Stadium. Entering the top of the seventh inning down two runs, the Storm rallied back with an incredible nine-run inning to start 1-0 in their 2020 campaign. There was a second game scheduled, but due to the length of game one, it was suspended in the middle of the third inning 4-2. 

Penn State Harrisburg used a five-run seventh inning to pull away from Hood in an 8-5 road victory at the Frederick Community College Baseball Field. Chase Smith had a big day, going 2-for-3 with four runs scored, an RBI and a walk, while Ryan McSorley and Bret Williams registered three hits apiece. Travis Van Houten was strong on the mound, earning the win after allowing five hits and no earned run in seven innings of work to go along with seven strikeouts.

Junior Andy Mills had a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Ohio Northern to a 9-7victory over No. 19-ranked St. John Fisher in the RussMatt Invitational at Lake Myrtle Main field. Junior Michael Rocco went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI to join Mills, junior Will Davis, junior Krue Thwaits and sophomore Chayten Overholt with multi-hit games for ONU.

Elizabethtown split on day two of its spring break trip, taking game one against Kenyon, 6-5, before falling in game two, 5-3, in non-conference action. With the split the Blue Jays sit at 4-2 on the season, while the Lords finish the day 1-2. Sophomore Robbie Bertucio combined to go 4-6 with a triple and three runs scored. Freshman Ben Watson tallied two RBI and a triple, while junior Andrew Fisher also registered two RBI.

For the second time in two games, Albion found some late-inning magic and sits 2-0 on the young season. The Britons broke open a 5-5 tie with four runs in the seventh inning and two more in the eighth to defeat St. Mary's (Minn.) 11-7 Monday in Auburndale, Fla. In their opener Saturday against Wittenberg, the Britons scored six times in the eighth to claim an 11-7 win. Also, for the second straight game, Albion rode the sizzling hitting of senior catcher Jordyn Finney, who went two for four, scored three times and knocked in two runs. In his frst two games, Finney has five hits in eight at-bats, has scored four runs and driven in six. "I have been proud of how we've competed when our backs have been against the wall in the first two games," coach Scott Carden said. "We haven't played our best baseball but we have been finding ways to win games."

Saint John's (Minn.) opened its 2020 season with a doubleheader sweep of Bluffton, 9-4 and 11-3. The Johnnies out-hit the Beavers (0-4 overall) 20-8 and the pitching staff combined for 24 strikeouts in 16 innings. Senior Stanley Ridgeway picked up the win in game one after pitching three hitless innings of relief. He struck out five and walked one. Five Johnnies combined for the two-hitter in game two's scheduled nine innings, four of which were freshmen. The starter, Cade Marsolek, allowed two runs and struck out four in three innings, while Braden Higgins picked up the win. He struck out six and did not allow a baserunner. Alex Otto and Casey Trapp struck out two and pitched an inning each, and junior Justin Langer closed the game with a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Senior shortstop Michael Gruber led the Johnnie bats by going 5-for-6 with two doubles and three RBI in the two games. He is now five hits away from becoming the 32nd Johnnies to reach 100 for a career.

Wilson earned its first two victories of the season today with a doubleheader sweep against the Nittany Lions of Penn State Schuylkill. The Phoenix, who lost a doubleheader yesterday, improve to 2-2 on the young season. The Phoenix finished the first game with 5 runs on 11 hits as Dylan Procopio and Brandon Cook paced the team with two hits and an RBI each. Jaret Price threw four solid innings for the Phoenix, allowing just one run on three hits and striking out six. Wilson finished game two with 12 runs on 11 hits as Dean Mercer led the attack by going 2 for 3 with 4 RBIs. Juan Rosario and Kevin Finn both had solid games, each going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Spencer McNamee (Hagerstown, Md., St. James) picked up the win on the mound throwing 3.2 innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out 3.
