Playing your rival never gets old. Just ask Hope College head coach Stu Fritz who coached his 105th game in the series. The pandemic has created many scheduling dilemmas for teams in all sports this year. It resulted in Hope playing rival Calvin seven times so far this spring. The two Saturday wins at Boeve Stadium came about in different ways. The Flying Dutchmen rolled to an easy 10-2 victory in the opener and in the nightcap scored a dramatic come-from-behind 4-3 win in nine innings. "I honestly don't approach our games against Calvin any different than with other opponents, but I have to say it is very exciting to win on a walk off against our rival like we did today," said Fritz. "I have the greatest respect for Calvin and their coach Kevin Van Duyn. They have a solid lineup; hopefully these wins are the springboard that we need to finish strong."

Clarkson jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first two innings of game one, only to see Ithaca come back to tie the score by the fifth frame. However, in the bottom of the fifth, Clarkson put up another six spot. Game two was the reverse of the first, as Ithaca was the team that raced out to a big lead in the early going. Down to its last at bat in the bottom of the ninth and trailing by three, Clarkson put together a strong rally. With the sun dropping below the horizon, the umpires and coaches convened and the game was called due to darkness.

Ripon finally spoiled the no-hit bid in the top of the seventh with two outs. A single and a double put the visitors on the board, but Sarkisian finished his outing with a strikeout. Sophomore pitcher Dylan White looked to pick up right where his teammate left off. On the mound, first-year Drew Bryan turned in an eye-opening three innings of work to earn his first collegiate save. The rookie righthander blazed his scorching fastball past Ripon's bats as he struck out the first five batters he faced. He ultimately put down all nine batters in order to end it.

With just three series left in the season, MSOE started their push towards the playoffs this afternoon against Concordia Wisconsin. While an improbable comeback in game one shifted the momentum to the Raiders, a very questionable call during game two prevented the Red & White from taking the sweep at home. MSOE (9-11, 6-4 NACC North) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in game one. Down 7-2 entering their last at bats, the Raiders put on their rally caps. The Red & White loaded the bases with one out and plated three runs on back-to-back singles from Brandon Beauchamp and Josh Beier. Micah Overley then grounded out to second which scored Beauchamp and moved Beier to third. Nick Stricker was next in line with a double that plated Beier to tie the game and Chris Barnes knocked in Stricker to complete the comeback and take game one in dramatic fashion 8-7. The Saints batted around in the seventh and tallied five runs to push the lead to 15-9 in the opener. A BLC baserunner did not advance past second in the final two innings to give the visitors the win. In the finale, it was a similar story as St. Scholastica jumped to a 4-0 lead after its first at-bats but BLC had a five-run second inning. Even in the fourth BLC got the go-ahead run. Back-to-back solo shots by junior Carter Wendlandt and Jake LaBerge made it 8-5. Sophomore Daniel Salinas earned his third win of the season and Nissen had the save.

Raab was really dealing today, as he was perfect through five innings before allowing a walk in the sixth and another in the seventh, then was just one out away from a no-hitter in the bottom of the seventh before a looper to left field fell in despite a diving defensive effort. Raab lowered his season ERA to a microscopic 0.96 after the performance.

After falling 7-5 in game one, UMass-Boston bounced back in a big way in the nightcap as they earned a 12-7 win over rival UMass Dartmouth to earn a Little East Conference split Saturday afternoon at Monan Park. With the split UMass Boston has now won 10 of their last 15 meetings with the Corsairs dating back to the 2016 regular season.

Johns Hopkins swept Ursinus taking the game by scores of 11-2 and 5-2. After trailing 2-0 in the fourth of game one, Johns Hopkins scored 11 unanswered to defeat Ursinus 11-2 and win their seventh straight contest. It was a different story in game two. Hopkins jumped on Ursinus starter Nolan Graber early, taking a 5-0 lead before hanging on for a 5-2 victory. The Blue Jays continued their trend of scoring in the first inning of at least one DH game. JHU has scored in seven of 12 first innings this season. Suffolk exploded for 19 hits and poured in 20 runs, including 11 in the sixth-inning alone, to mercy-rule Gordon, 20-5, in seven innings in game two of a non-conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon at J. Tec White Field. The Rams put game one away in the sixth though as the blue-and-gold batted through the order twice to put up 11 runs on nine hits to make it a lopsided outing, 20-2. Homers by Gordon proved to be the difference as Suffolk fell, 5-3, Saturday afternoon in game one.

Matt O'Leary had a monster day at the plate as the Beloit Buccaneers took two from St. Norbert on their home turf. Beloit cruised to a 16-5, seven-inning, win in the opener and followed with a 5-4 nailbiter in the nightcap. O'Leary tied the program record for homeruns in a game with three. His solo shot in the second put the Bucs on the board. He added a three-run bomb in the fifth that extended the gap to 7-2 and capped the game with another three-run dinger that brought the score to the final, 16-5. His three four-baggers ties Jon Moran's performance against Carroll in 2007. The Bucs blasted 16 hits led by O'Leary's 3-4 game at the dish. He added three runs scored and seven runs batted in, a mark that also ties Moran for the program record. Kaiya Nishino picked up the win in relief for the Bucs. In 2.2 innings of work on the mound, he allowed just two hits while striking out two and walking two. The nightcap was a much different affair. The Bucs got the lead for good in the top of the eighth using four hits and a Green Knight error to plate three runs.
