Johns Hopkins win Centennial

For the second-straight season and 16th time overall, Johns Hopkins has claimed the Centennial Conference Baseball Championship. Despite not competing since last Saturday, May 1, the Blue Jays clinched the title on May 8 following Franklin & Marshall's doubleheader split with Dickinson.

Entering Saturday's contests, the idle Blue Jays, who had already completed an 11-3 conference season, needed Dickinson to knock off F&M at least once in its schedule twinbill in Lancaster. The Diplomats (10-4) took game one 2-1, but the Red Devils bounced back for a 9-3 game two victory to give JHU the title.

With the title, JHU also earns the Centennial's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. NCAA selections are set to be announced on May 23, with Regionals slated for May 27-31 at various sites throughout the country.
