Swarthmore split its double-header against Wittenberg and Mitchell on Wednesday afternoon. The Garnet held on to defeat Wittenberg, 16-15, in a wild opener, but dropped this afternoon's finale to Mitchell, 13-3.

Rochester (6-1) saw its offense keep rolling in a 14-11 slugfest victory over Ursinus (5-3) on Wednesday afternoon at the Ripken Experience in South Carolina. The game featured six home runs, three by each team, with two players, UR's Harper Sy, and Ursinus' Keegan Stem both clocking two long balls. Rochester's Luke Gregory added one and Jared Minnichbach clobbered the other home run for Ursinus. The Yellowjackets pounded out 18 hits in the victory, with Sy, Aaron Whitley, Colby Cruser and Jackson Reed all recording three. Sy finished with a career-high 6 RBI, added 3 runs and 2 steals. Whitley reached base 5 times, had 4 runs scored and stole 2 bases. Both Reed and Luke Piontek scored two runs, while Josh Leadem went 2-for-6 and finished with three steals.

Plymouth State rebounded from a heartbreaking 7-6 walk-off loss to score the most runs in nearly six years in a 24-9 win to split a doubleheader with Saint Elizabeth University at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic on Wednesday. The Panthers were one out away from wrapping up an extra inning win in the opener when the Eagles smacked a game-winning, walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth. Plymouth State recovered quickly, however, scoring in each of the first five innings, including a nine-run fourth and eight-run fifth, to pummel Saint Elizabeth, 24-9, in game two. The 24 runs scored were the most since a 26-9 thrashing of Daniel Webster College in March 2016. With the split the Panthers move to 4-6, while Saint Elizabeth goes to 1-6.

Catholic University won another close game on Wednesday afternoon, defeating No. 21 Kean, 9-8, at the Ripken Experience. The Cardinals (6-5) were led by senior Peter Giombetti, who blasted two home runs, including the game-winning two run shot in the top of the eighth. Cardinal freshman Cody Bosak got his third start of the season on the mound, and was strong in his first three innings of work, not allowing a Cougar run. However, that changed in the fourth, when Kean first-baseman Michael Medvetz blasted a three-run homer to tie the game in one swing. The Cougars added two more via a wild pitch and an RBI groundout to take their first lead of the game at 5-3.

Hardin-Simmons pounded out eight extra-base hits in a 9-2 win over Schreiner in its first non-conference action of the year. Corey Ballew and Sam Buchkowski each had three hits and Luke Kirkbride drove in three runs. Ballew also got his first start of his career on the mound and earned the win scattering five hits and allowing two runs in five innings of work. The Cowboys bullpen worked four scoreless innings allowing just two hits and one walk.

Clark University (2-1) played its third game in three
days on Wednesday night from Griffith Field and
scored at least one run in every inning as they
recorded a 23-3 win over Bethany (2-5).

Baldwin Wallace University took on the Mitchell College Mariners in the Snowbird Classic at Centennial Park. The Yellow Jackets again proved to be an outstanding offensive team, tallying 11 hits, and defeated Mitchell by an 11-2 final score. BW improves to 8-0 on the year, remaining undefeated in the early season, while Mitchell falls to 3-4. The Yellow Jackets were led by senior All-OAC right fielder Drew Wilson as he kicked off the scoring for the Yellow Jackets, notching a grand slam in the top of the third. Junior All-OAC designated hitter Luke Vonderhaar batted 2-4, posting two runs and two RBIs. Junior right hander Aidan Bennett started on the mound and earned the win (1-0), pitching through four innings, allowed no runs on just three hits, and tallied eight strikeouts.

Another hot day in Florida and the Redhawks found themselves in a battle with the Keystone Giants. Despite the heat, and the all nine innings that were played, the Redhawks were able to pull out another win at the RussMatt winning 15-13. In the end it came down to the bottom of the ninth inning, La Roche down by one. Nathan Stutz who hit a grand slam in yesterday's game was once again the hero. Stutz hit a line drive single to left field that forced two runs in, giving him a walk off hit, and La Roche the win.

UW-Platteville opened the 2022 season and split with Bethel in US Bank Stadium Wednesday night. The last time the two teams faced off was one week prior to the COVID-19 shutdown of March 2020. The Royals (3-1) struck first and pulled ahead 5-2 in the first seven-inning game, but the Pioneers (1-1) answered back dishing out 11 hits in an 8-3 game two victory. Jonathan Kelso went 3-7 on the day, tallying up three RBIs and three hits including two doubles. Ross Krist finished 5-6 on the day and tallied two RBIs and one double. "I'm proud of the whole team's response after the tough first game. Ross Krist had a great day at the plate getting on base six times and really provided a huge spark for us on offense," said head coach Chad Harris. "Sam Hernandez and Isaac Bixby really stepped up on the mound in game 2. Sam had a huge shut down inning for us after we took the lead and though he made it a little interesting, Bixby did a good job closing it out."

Earlham College won a doubleheader series against Principia College by a combined score of 31-4 (21-4 and 10-0) on Wednesday evening. Catcher Nathaniel Whetstine and right fielder Noah Collins led the Quaker bats in the first game with three hits and two RBI each. Nate Hemmerich started the day off on the mound and recorded the win with six strikeouts and six hits allowed. Collins led Earlham in game two with three hits and one RBI. David Lally earned the win after starting on the mound and scoring two strikeouts.

Centenary continued its recent impressive offensive output as the Diamond Gents cruised to a 17-7 victory over the Millsaps College Majors in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at a chilly Shehee Stadium. The Diamond Gents (10-8) won their season-high fourth-straight game after a three-game series sweep over Occidental College in Los Angeles over the weekend. Millsaps fell to 11-6 with the loss. The Maroon and White improved to 9-4 all-time against the Majors as the teams were meeting for the first time since the 2019 season. Centenary pounded Millsaps pitching for 17 hits on Wednesday, marking the 13th time that the Maroon and White have had 10 or more hits in game and at least 13 hits eight times. Six Centenary players posted multi-hit performances on Wednesday five players collected at least two RBI.

Bridgewater State University posted a 7-4 victory over Coast Guard Academy in a lightning-delay game on Wednesday night at the Ripken Experience Complex in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Bears improve to 3-3 on the season, while Coast Guard falls to 4-2. The start of the game was delayed by roughly a half hour due to lightning and the game was delayed again in the bottom of the third inning. Graduate righthander Matt Josselyn tossed five scoreless innings to pick up the win on the mound for the Bears. Josselyn (1-1) scattered three hits, did not issue a walk and fanned six. Sophomore third baseman Kyle Suraci went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and three RBI to pace the BSU offense.

Andrew Miles was responsible for seven runs with four RBIs and three runs scored to lead Lebanon Valley College to a 9-7 win over Heidelberg University on Wednesday afternoon in Port Charlotte. LVC (3-4) got off to a great start with one run in the second and a big five-run third to take a 6-0 lead over Heidelberg (3-4). The Student Princes hit two home runs in the fifth and scored three runs in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead. Miles knocked in a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to give the Dutchmen back the lead and then scored the final run in the eighth.

New Jersey City University wrapped up its Spring Trip today, Wednesday and heads back to Jersey City with back-to-back wins. Similar to yesterday, the Gothic Knights' offense exploded, scoring 12 runs and had four different sluggers with two or more hits as they defeated Mass-Dartmouth 12-6. Continuing his blazing start, freshman Matt Kaliske followed yesterday's masterful performance with three more hits today and drove in a run. Kaliske is now hitting an eye-opening .500 through his first five career games. He is not the only slugger that is on a tear, as junior Jimmy Vizzoni drove in three runs of his own and scored twice. The third baseman is hitting .400 this season, behind only Kaliske, and leads the squad with 10 hits.

Trine University collected a run-rule victory on Wednesday afternoon 16-6 over Vassar College. The Thunder (3-5) pounded out 16 runs on 19 hits, the most of either in a game since March 2, 2020 and held the Brewers (1-4) to one run over the final five innings of play. Jeff Ballard was able to wrap up the game early with a 1-2-3 seventh inning. In total, he went two innings of hitless baseball out of the bullpen. Kortas was credited with the win after 3.2 innings pitched and a team-high six strikeouts. All 10 hitters in the Trine lineup recorded hits, including three each by Avery Fulford, Easton Rhodes, Adam Stefanelli and Matthew Martin. Rhodes drove in four runs and Fulford scored four times and had two extra base hits.

Fitchburg State split a doubleheader with the
Fighting Scots of Gordon in marathon non-conference
action this afternoon at Northeast Regional Park. The
Falcons took game one 6-2, and dropped game two
5-4 in nine innings.

York College got a much needed doubleheader sweep of Dean University on an overcast and humid Wednesday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Spartans won game one 25-3 and followed that with an 11-8 victory in the nightcap. The wins snapped a four-game losing skid as the Spartans had not won since their season opener on March 1 at Rutgers-Camden. The Spartans have one game remaining on their spring trip before being scheduled to open at home with a three-game set this weekend against Elmira.

Alvernia scored a 7-4 win over Bluffton. The Beavers fell to 1-5 on the season while the Golden Wolves improved to 4-6-1. As Alvernia was putting up runs, Bluffton matched them until the eighth when Alvernia scored three for the 7-4 victory. Luca Grammatica led the Wolves with a 3-for-4 day. Zach Rogacki drove in three with a double and triple in the game.

A Wednesday doubleheader against Thomas resulted in WPI's first and second victories of the season as the Engineers started the day off with an 18-5 triumph over the Terriers followed by a rain shortened, delay-filled, 14-2 five-and-a-half inning win. The Engineers put together 21 hits in the game one victory as Andrew Brooks kept his home-run streak going with a three-run shot while Dylan Connors, Kyle Johns and Martin McCormack put together three-hit outings. Game two saw 10 hits, and three Thomas College errors, resulting in 14 runs as Johns finished with a 2-for-4 effort, driving in five runs while scoring three of his own while starting pitcher Matt Penkala earned his first victory of the season, pitching 4.1 innings and facing 23 batters while allowing six hits, two runs and striking out two.

Following a day off from game action Mount St. Joseph University was able to hit the field again. In this game the Lions were playing Russell Sage, from New York. The Lions would dominate again, winning by a final score of 14-4. There were several Lions who contributed to the impressive offensive showing. Andrew Harrison continued his impressive freshman campaign going three of five at the plate, Harrison would account for eight of the Lion's total runs, totaling four RBI's and crossing the plate four times. Ryan Murray would record three total hits on the afternoon, adding two RBI's to his season total. The Lions also received strong contributions from their pitching staff on their way to victory. Mason Jewell started the game for the Lions, pitching three innings, allowing only three hits, and surrendering zero runs.

A seven-run seventh inning sparked Central College to a 9-3 win in its first game of the 2022 season Tuesday Night/Wednesday morning against the UW-Superior in an indoor game at U.S. Bank Stadium. Central (2-0) made it a sweep against the Yellow Jackets (0-4) with a 5-2 victory in the second game. Trailing 3-2 entering the final frame of the scheduled seven-inning opening game, Central connected for four hits and took advantage of three walks, three wild pitches and two fielding errors by Wis.-Superior to string together seven runs. Lucas Farren was 3-for-4 and scored twice. Landon Vander Leest picked up the win. Game two's winning pitcher was Declan O'Hare, who struck out four and yielded no runs in three innings. Kurby Vowels. Garrett Finley was 3-for-3 at the plate in the nightcap, driving in one run.

It took two runs in the top of the seventh in game two for Kenyon College to beat Monmouth College 2-1 after beating the Fighting Scots in game one, 10-3. The doubleheader sweep moved the Lords to 2-3 on the season while Monmouth dropped to 4-4. Including his strikeout in the second, Frank Lynch sat 13 Fighting Scots down in a row. Lynch finished his day pitching six innings, giving up an unearned run, and striking out six. After six scoreless innings in game two, the Lords took the lead in their final at bat on a Will Sturgeon single. In the bottom half of the seventh, Monmouth had a chance to tie the game up with two outs. With the game on the line, Monmouth grounded out to third to end the game.
