PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Baseball extended its win streak to three games on Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of Valley Forge down in Pennsylvania. The Bloodhounds won game one, 4-1, and then went on to win game two, 11-0. John Jay moves to 3-17 on the season, while the Patriots fall to 5-13 on the year.

Sophomore Ismael Tatis was the star of the show in game two, tossing a no-hitter allowing just four walks and notching four strikeouts. He also had two hits and four RBIs in the game, making it the best game of his career at John Jay. The Bloodhounds scored three runs in the first, second, and fourth innings, and then tacked on two in the seventh to earn the victory. Nunez also had another good game, reaching base four times and scoring three runs. Freshman Juan Maldonado went 1-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Freshman Marc Weeks fired a complete game four-hitter, holding Valley Forge to just one run and striking out five. The two teams traded runs to start the game, but the Bloodhounds took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth on an RBI single from freshman Michael Mauro. John Jay tacked on another run in the sixth, and than sophomore Christopher Nunez made it 4-1 with a solo homer sin the seventh. That would be the final score.

John Jay will look to make it four wins in a row on Wednesday, April 6 when the Bloodhounds will take on Purchase College in Purchase, NY. First pitch is set for 3:30 pm.
