GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Marymount baseball swept Gwynedd Mercy on Sunday afternoon behind a historic day for Alec Reilly, who hit the first cycle in Marymount baseball history to top the Griffins 15-5.

The Saints move to 24-5 overall on the season, now sitting strong at 11-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Reilly got the Saints on the board first in the opening frame of the contest, shooting a single through the right side to drive in a pair and give Marymount a 2-0 advantage.
• The Griffins plated one in the bottom of the first, and after a scoreless second inning, the Saints put another three on the board in the top of the third inning. Another RBI single from Reilly, alongside a two-RBI double from Chad Singleton, highlighted the frame.
• Jonathan McMath opened the top of the fifth with his fifth homer of the season, all coming in AEC play, to extend Marymount's lead.
• Reilly followed McMath with his fourth round tripper of the season to keep the Saints moving.
• Quincy Via rounded out the scoring in the fifth with a sacrifice fly.
• Kevin Knoess punched an RBI double in the sixth.
• The Saints went on to plate six more runs in the final innings to secure the decisive win over the Griffins.
• Reilly highlighted the day with his historic cycle. He went a perfect 5-for-5 at the dish.
• Singleton and Knoess each had three RBI.
• McMath had two RBI and a home run in the win.
• Parker Casselberry moved to 5-0 on the season, going 5.1 innings with six strikeouts.
• Owen Mead pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts.
• Jordan Dickson went 2-3 at the plate with a triple and two runs scored.

UP NEXT

The Saints will come back home on Tuesday for non-conference action against Hood at 6 PM. It will be Little League Night.
Marymount will play another non-conference matchup with Mary Washington on Wednesday at Capital One Park for a 6 PM first pitch.
