Top-seeded Mitchell College advanced to the championship series of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament, defeating fourth-seeded Colby Sawyer College 6-1 in the seventh and final game of pod play on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field. The Mariners (30-11) entered the day needing just one victory over the Chargers, but fell by a final of 9-3 in the opener. Mitchell rebounded in the elimination game, using home runs by Michael Ficocelli and Owen Robbins, along with a Jacob Quilies (Wallkill, N.Y.) complete game to extend their season. Mitchell will host the upcoming GNAC championship best-of-three series, which is schedule to be played Thursday, March 9th and Friday, March 10th. The Mariners will face second seeded Johnson & Wales University. J&W pounded Norwich 19-0 and 16-5 to come out of the elimination bracket to win the Pod and advance to the GNAC finals.

Centenary, after building a 6-0 lead only to have top-seeded Trinity battle back to tie the game in the top of the eighth, plated the walk-off run in dramatic fashion, propelling the second-seeded Gents to the championship round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament Sunday afternoon at La Moderna Field. Trinity had two runners on in the ninth, but the Gents escaped any damage, and headed to the bottom of the inning tied. Centenary's Austyn Benoit and Jobee Boone opened the inning with singles then a bunt single by the Gents' pinch-hitter Ben Berglund also resulted in a throwing error that brought in the winning run.

Shenandoah University welcomed Guilford College for game two of the best-of-three series at Kevin Anderson Field at Bridgeforth Stadium. The Hornets (27-15) completed the sweep of the Quakers with an 11-7 win. The Quakers took a 7-6 lead in the seventh inning on back-to-back bases-loaded walks before a single was the final blow to put Guilford back in front. Connor Houser then homered for the third time over the weekend to regain the lead 8-7. Shenandoah added on with a safety squeeze from Brody Pickette before Frankie Ritter and Cameron Carrow added back-to-back homers in the eighth. Joey Mitchell took over for the Hornets in the top of the eighth and picked up the six-out save retiring all six batters in order.

Down two in the bottom of the ninth, University of Rochester rallied for three runs to walk off on the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds in game three of the Liberty League Crossover series to win the series and clinch a spot in the Liberty League Tournament. After Colby Cruser struck out the side in the top of the inning, Rochester headed into the bottom of the ninth down 6-4, down to the final three outs of, potentially, their season. Christian Giresi relieved Sam Dalsimer to try and finish off the victory for Skidmore, having gone five-straight appearances without allowing a run. With two runs already in Grayden Harris relieved Giresi, but a perfectly-placed bunt by Matt Rieth put runners on first and second with nobody out. Ethan Jaquette pinch-ran, and while Harris got Cruser to pop out, Jackson Reed reached on a fielder's choice to put runners at the corners, and after Reed took second, the Thoroughbreds intentionally walked Dylan Stezzi to load the bases for Dan Tirabassi. Just three pitches into the at-bat, Tirabassi ripped a single through the left side, scoring Jaquette to walk things off and give the Yellowjackets a 7-6 victory, the series victory and a Liberty League Tournament berth. The only remaining game in the Liberty league crossover weekend between Union College and Rochester Institute of Technology was halted in the top of the fourth inning Sunday night due to rainy conditions. The game is set to be resumed on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Central Park A Diamond. The game is tied at three runs each. The game will resume with Sam Kulp at the plate with a 2-0 count.

Sophomore two-way player Carlos Martinez was North Park's starter on the mound in the important non-conference finisher. The right hander worked four innings against the Eagles, allowing only two hits, a walk, and just one run before handing the game to a plethora of arms in the 'pen.

The University of Redlands (20-20, 11-13) closed out their 2024 season with a 16-12 road loss at Occidental College Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs offense was on fire right from the start as the first four batters reached base with Luke De Vries getting hit, Jared Anderson doubling down the right field line, Tyler Preece singling home De Vries, and Sebastian Mejorado walking. The lead was eight in the middle of the second, but through the seventh inning the Tigers had clawed to within one, 9-8, as the offense had gone quiet with no hits for five innings after recording eight in the first two. Things fully unraveled in the bottom half of the eighth when Occidental sent 14 batters to the plate and scored eight times thanks to a string of 11-straight batters reaching base. With the final three outs of the season, Lucas Romero and Will Daniel each singled and were on second and first with two outs for Sean McCance. McCance would take advantage of his final at-bat as he hit a three-run home run to left field, his first of the season and second of his career. After MIT took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Gulls answered with a five-run second inning and didn't look back. The second-inning rally was highlighted by Danny MacDougall's two-run single to center field, scoring Robbie Wladkowski and Frammartino. The Gulls continued to pile on runs throughout the contest despite their season-low five hits in the game. In the eighth, they blew the game wide open with a seven-run frame. The offensive burst was led by Wladkowski's two-run single, Pacheco's bases-clearing double, and MacDougall's second RBI single of the game. Cannata got the start for the Gulls and delivered four strong innings with just two earned runs allowed, striking out six Engineers along the way. The Brown and Gold put on a eight-run scoring clinic in the bottom of the frame to take the lead and clinch the victory in the seniors' last home regular season game at Fisher Field.

Pacific has a new single season home run king. Senior CJ Colyer hit his 18th, 19th and 20th home runs Sunday afternoon to lead the Boxers to 10-3 and 18-7 wins over Lewis & Clark. With the two victories, Pacific improved to 12-11 in the Northwest Conference and remain in the hunt for a spot in next weekend's four-team conference tournament. "I was just trying to help the team and if that's what it takes, that's what it takes," said Colyer, who finished 6-for-9 with a double, three home runs, five runs and six RBIs over the two games. "Senior day definitely helped, having the family and having the fans here. It was a different vibe." After hitting two home runs in game one to tie former teammate Isaac Lovings' record set last season, Colyer set the new mark with a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning of game two to give the Boxers a 7-3 lead. "They kind of threw me the whole kitchen sink and I just tried to catch as much barrel as possible," Colyer said. "Knowing that it was Isaac that had it and just trying to beat a friend was fun." After singling to left field to lead off the bottom of the sixth, Colyer stole second and third for his 19th and 20th stolen bases of the season.
