Lee Cavico hit a home run in his first at-bat of the championships. Cavico batted .714 (5-for-7) to lead all batters. He also led all batters with a 1.286 slugging percentage. Despite playing only two games, Cavico stayed on the leaders list through the fourth day of the tournament.
