On the third day, nobody rests. Not the bullpens, not the grounds crews, not the rescheduling committee, and definitely not the hitters. Few regionals were untouched by delays, once again, and few pitching staffs emerged unscathed.

With the Central Regional still two games behind after Friday's weather, the day started with two winner's bracket games. Webster, the No. 1 seed according to the NCAA, rallied from a 6-1 deficit and forced extra innings. But Rhodes, with its closer chucking up strikes on the mound, held off the Gorloks the rest of the way and Will Huertin hit a homer in the 11th to give the Lynx the win. 

Down to its final strike, Ben Dinter hit a home run to right field for Webster, hitting off the glove of Levi Greenberg. The Lynx then called on closer Nick Bosma to replace Jack Mercer who went eight and two thirds innings. Bosma went the final two and one-third for Rhodes, picking up his third win against three defeats. Shane Donovan, who got the final 10 outs for the save Thursday against Thomas More, went the final three and took the loss for the Gorloks. Webster bounced back later in the day and got a complete game eight-hitter from Sean Beaver to eliminate Monmouth by a 6-2 score, and the Franklin-Whitewater nightcap continued to be delayed by weather. 

Jose Mercado had another great day at the top of the lineup for Concordia-Chicago, but it wasn't enough as every UW-Oshkosh starter got a hit as part of an 18-hit attack in a 9-7 win. The Midwest Regional game featured two teams who came into the game each at 2-0. Jesse Sustachek started for the Titans, faced just 11 batters and allowed seven of them to reach base, but Chris Atwood and Alex Larson cmbined for eight innings of relief, with Larson getting the win, his first of the year. UW-Oshkosh advanced into Sunday and is one win away from making its first trip to the Division III World Series since 2003, just after it moved to Appleton.

Jon Brignoni spun a gem for the Roadrunners as Ramapo shut out Mitchell 6-0 in the early game in the New England Regional, played on this day at Mass. Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay. Brignoni allowed four base runners, two on hits and two on freebies, of which only one got as far as second base. Ramapo provided the offense with tallies in the first, third and eight innings. The loss eliminated the Mariners from the regional. After giving up three runs in the first inning, freshman Nathan Hinkley settled down and allowed just one run the rest of the way to lead Keystone to a 6-4 victory over Western New England in the regional's other elimination game. Keystone, now 34-11, will face Ramapo tonight. The Giants overcame a 4-2 deficit by rallying for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Dakota McFadden drove in a run with a single to right center that scored Mohammed Hussein. The key hit was then delivered by Eric Drzewiecki, who singled to left field with the bases loading to cap off the rally. Prior to Drzewiecki's two-run single, Adam Kelly was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded that forced in another run.

Adrian continued to enjoy the benefits of home with a 1-0 win over La Roche in the second winners bracket contest of the Mideast Regional. Pierce Banks pitched eight inings of shutout ball for the bulldogs. His counterpart, La Roche's Nick Tunstall was just as sharp, allowing a manufactured run in the sixth for the game's only score. Gunner Rainey worked his way around the bases with a  single, sac bunt, stolen base, and a sac fly for the run. Ithaca rallied from a 5-1 deficit and pushed across two runs in the ninth to defeat Shenandoah 7-5 in an elimination game at the Mideast Regional. Catcher Andrew Wollner posted his third RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to give the Bombers (30-16) the lead and a bases-loaded walk provided some insurance as Ithaca staved off elimination for a second consecutive game. Tom Cosentino improved to 4-0 with five and two-thirds innings of relief.

Sophomore Reece Yeargain ripped a two-run homer in the sixth as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon went ahead to stay in a 4-3 win over No. 4 Christopher Newport in the South Regional at Ting Stadium. The Yellow Jackets advance to the Championship Game on Sunday, one win away from their first regional crown and initial trip to the Division III College World Series. Christopher Newport will meet La Grange, a 9-4 winner over TCNJ, in a late night start to determine Randolph-Macon's opponent on Sunday.

Texas Lutheran remained unbeaten, beating Texas-Dallas 2-1 behind a complete game from Nathan Malinovsky. Eric Rabinowitz drove in Chad Curtis for the walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth. Rabinowitz singled to left-center field. Curtis, running on contact with two outs, slid headfirst with the winning run well before the throw came home. And both teams moved on to Sunday in the West Regional. TLU defeated Willamette 6-1 to move to 3-0 and advance to the championship of the regional. Landon Weatherly (2-1) notched the win with six innings, with Dylan Murrell going the final three innings for his fifth save. In UTD's second game of the day, Cole Hanson threw a complete-game four-hitter, improving to 7-3 as the Comets put up a six-spot in the second and cruised to a 6-2 win vs. Chapman. Willamette will UT-Dallas in an elimination game on Sunday with the winner facing TLU, needing to beat them twice to advance to Appleton.

Anthony Harrold broke open a tie game with a two-run double in the 12th inning and Shawn Leydon followed with a single to bring him around and lift Rowan to a 4-1, 12-inning win vs. Arcadia in the Mid-Atlantic Regional. Arcadia was eliminated. Nick Cardace had homered in the sixth to tie the game and force the extra frames. Jordan Friedman picked up his first win of the season with five innings of scoreless relief for the Profs (35-10). It was the first game of the day at the regional because of weather. Virginia Wesleyan staved off elimination, jumping on Union for six unearned runs in the first three innings and defeated the Dutchmen 10-4 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional. Jay Crusemire went the first eight for the win for the Marlins, while Jordan Sprouse and Deon Hammond knocked in three runs apiece. Babson and Misericordia's winners' bracket final was pushed back to Sunday and will be followed by an elimination game between Rowan and Virginia Wesleyan. 

Baldwin Wallace scored the first 11 runs of the game and cruised to a 14-3 win vs. Salisbury, eliminating the Sea Gulls from the New York Regional. The Yellow Jackets pounded out 17 hits, with Kyle Pennington knocking in four runs and Spencer Badia adding three in the victory. Brandon Wysong (4-1) started and got the first 19 outs to pick up the win. Weather delays pushed the Cortland-Baldwin Wallace game off to Sunday afternoon.

Swarthmore scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to snap a 6-6 tie and defeated Southern Maine 9-6 to remain unbeaten in the New York Regional. The Garnet needs one win to advance to the Division III World Series. AJ Liu opened the Garnet eighth being hit by a pitch from USM closer Jake Dexter. Charles Levitt lined a triple past a diving USM outfielder to score Liu and snap the tie.

Sunday's games have Baldwin Wallace taking on host and top seed Cortland at noon. The winner of the that game will play Southern Maine, with the winner advancing to the final round against Swarthmore. Pending results, the championship round could start Sunday evening (if Southern Maine advances), or Monday (if either Baldwin Wallace or Cortland advance)

Dubuque continued its Cinderella bid with an 8-4 win over North Central (Ill.) at the Midwest Regional only to see midnight strike in a twilight elimination game with Concordia-Chicago. The Cougars bounced back from a loss earlier in the day to UW-Oshkosh with a 6-3 win, eliminating the Spartans. The Spartans got to their game with CUC by capitalizing on several North Central miscues in a five run sixth inning. CUC will face UW-Oshkosh on Sunday, needing to win twice to extend their season past this weekend.

Second-seeded Oswego State upended top-seeded UMass Boston 11-4 with a late-inning surge at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. With the victory, the Lakers advance to the NCAA New England Regional championship round and need just one more win to secure their place in next week's College World Series in Appleton, Wis. Trailing 3-2 after the teams traded blows in the fifth inning, Oswego exploded for four runs in the seventh, two runs in the eighth and three runs in the ninth to run away with the win.
