Catcher Gunner Rainey

Fifth-year senior Gunner Rainey leads Adrian in several offensive categories. He has been a rock behind the plate ending the season with a 0.996 fielding average. Rainey won the MIAA Position Player of the Year of for the second consecutive year.

RHP Pirece Banks

Adrian is led Banks, the MIAA Pitcher of the Year. He was to be part of a 1-2 combo with Mo Handley who earned recognition on the Golden Spikes watch list, but did not play due to an injury. Banks is the "Strikeout King" at Adrian as he holds the record for most career strikeouts for Adrian.

Second Baseman Brady Wood

Wood's grang slam in the Whitewater Regional title game was the biggest hit of his career, He held the second base spot on First Team All-MIAA, and marks his third career All-Conference selection.

  RHP Gage Ricker

Ricker was named a Second Team All-MIAA pitcher which marks his first all-conference honor in his career. He did not see any action in his freshman year.

Scouting report

  • Adrian opened the season 5-5 but since that time, the Bulldogs have only three losses in the last 34 games they have played heading into the 2021 D-III World Series.
  • Adrian was last in the D-III World Series in 2008 where they finished 2-2 in head coach Craig Rainey's 15th season. Adrian finished 6th in the national polls that year.
  • "We have a unique blend of speed and power that should help us offensively," said Rainey at the beginning of the season. He was right as the 2021 squad demonstrated their speed and power this year. The Bulldogs stole 60 bases (85th in the nation) with 21 triples (9th in the nation). They also hit 32 home runs, good for 47th in the nation.
