Meekins is ranked in the top three in the C2C in all three Triple Crown categories (batting average, home runs, RBIs) and is Salisbury's all-time leader in times hit by the pitch (68), along with one of just 10 Sea Gulls to ever amass 200 career hits.

Key pitchers

RHP Clayton Dwyer

Dwyer had one of the most dynamic seasons by a Sea Gull pitcher in recent memory. He won the Pitching Triple Crown in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference by leading the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts. Dwyer was recently named the South Region Pitcher of the Year by D3baseball.com

Outfielder Kavi Castor

Caster, a sophomore from Crofton, Md., emerged as one of Salisbury's breakout stars in 2021. Caster has been especially potent at the plate down the stretch. Castor is the Sea Gulls stolen base leader.

LHP Jackson Balzan

Balzan found his groove late to become one of the Sea Gulls' most dangerous weapons on the mound. He has won his last three starts in dominating fashion. In Saturday's regional game he shut down Lynchburg over a career-long eight innings while setting another career high with 12 punchouts.

Scouting report

  • Salisbury split a two game set with Rowan on March 20th. If Salisbury is going to play Rowan, both teams will have to win their brackets as Rowan is in bracket one and Salisbury is on bracket two.
  • Salisbury has not lost two game in a row since May 2019 when they dropped the CAC championship game and the first game of the 2019 Salisbury Regional. 
  • Salisbury is making their 21st consecutive appearance (26th overall) in the NCAA Championship Tournament by winning its 17th conference title by sweeping both rounds of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, earning the C2C's automatic bid. The Sea Gulls have made five World Series Appearances in 2001, '04, '11, '14 and '15.
