MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Huntingdon College baseball team celebrates the 50th anniversary of competition during the 2011 season. The Hawks first head coach John Mabry will throw out the first pitch on Saturday, Feb. 5, against Methodist University at 2 p.m.

Coach Mabry led the Huntingdon baseball team from 1961-74. Mabry's first pitch will open the Hawks 50th season of baseball on Saturday afternoon. Huntingdon will host the 50th year reunion on Saturday, Apr. 2, when the Hawks take on Piedmont College at 2 p.m. The Hawks welcome back all baseball alumni to the reunion, and there will be an alumni game following Huntingdon's contest against Piedmont.

"It's great to be part of Huntingdon baseball, especially when we get to celebrate the 50th anniversary," says head coach D.J. Conville, who enters his seventh season with a 164-87 record. "I look forward to getting together and celebrating this special time at Huntingdon College."
