Rhodes defeats #16 Wooster

The Rhodes College baseball team defeated #16 Wooster 3-2 this afternoon in Port Charlotte, Fl in their 3rd game of the Snow Bird Classic.  Sophomore RHP Jackson Baker and senior RHP Hunter Chandler had outstanding days on the mound limiting the Scots offense to 7 hits in 11 innings.  Senior DH Brent Lindsey drove in the game winner with a single to right field in the bottom of the 11th.

Jackson Baker worked the first 6 innings for the Lynx allowing 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, and struck out 7.  Hunter Chandler picked up the win for the Lynx taking over for Baker in the top of the 7th and working the next 5 innings.  Chandler allowed 1 hit, 1 walk, no runs, and struck out 7.

The Lynx offense was led by senior RF Matt Gilbert who was 2-4 with a run scored.  Freshman 2B Stewart Martens was 2-5 with an RBI.  Sophomore SS Lynden Pindling was 2-4 with a run scored and stole a base. 

Rhodes will finish their spring trip tomorrow at 11:00 as they take on Wooster before returning to Memphis to open conference play with weekend against Depauw.
