HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Behind 14 hits and 10 runs CUA cruised to a 10-2 win over Juniata (8-9) in the series finale on Sunday.  The Cardinals (12-7) scored four runs in the fourth and sixth innings and four CUA hurlers combined to allow only two runs and seven hits.  Offensively Matt Grieb and LJ Travaglia had three hit each.

CUA was held to just one run in the first three innings but the Cardinals offense got in gear in the top of fourth, erupting for four runs.  CUA did all of its damage with two outs, beginning with a Kory Smigocki single followed by Tim Mierzwa's RBI double.

Grieb was next and he doubled in Mierzwa, and Dan Sullivan brought in Grieb with a triple down the right field line.  Travaglia then drove in CUA's fifth run of the afternoon with a double down the left field line.

Juniata got on the board with a single run in the fourth but the Cardinals gave themselves some significant breathing room with four more runs in the top half of the sixth.

Travaglia singled with two outs to put runners on first and second.  Dave Grear was then hit by a pitch to load the bases and Brendan Breslin cleared the bags with a triple to center field to make it 8-1 CUA.  Kalokitis added an RBI single and the Cardinals were in front by eight.

The Eagles scored their second and final run in their half of the sixth but CUA came back with Grear's RBI single to score Grieb in the seventh.

Jack Mahoney, Nick Perrotta and Thomas Travaglia threw three innings of scoreless relief for CUA with that trio allowing only two hits.

Andrew Carroll earned the Cardinals win after scattering five hits in six innings and striking out one, while Joe Sforza took the loss for Juniata.  He gave up nine hits and seven runs and walked five hitters.

CUA is off until Thursday when the Cardinals hit the road to face the nation's No. 1 team Shenandoah.  First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m. from Virginia.
