ABERDEEN, Md. - Wesley College used a two-run seventh to take the opener and got a complete game from Jordan Lozzi (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) in the second game to take a CAC twinbill from Stevenson, 6-4 and 3-2.

The Wolverines led the first game 4-3 heading into the seventh.  Rob Benedict (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) led off the top of the inning with a double, stole third and scored on a wild pitch for what proved to be the deciding run.  Kevin Murphy (Middletown, Md./Middletown) followed with a walk and stole both second and third.  Geoff Kimmel (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) brought him home with a single through the right side.

The Mustangs got one run back in the bottom of the inning and brought the potential winning run to the plate but Zach Stuart (Palmyra, Pa/Palmyra Area) forced Dustin Tarlow to pop out to end the game.

Stuart earned his third save of the year, preserving the win for DJ Keckler (Fallston, Md./Fallston)

Keckler improved to 4-1 on the year and pitched around trouble all afternoon.  He allowed eight hits and walked seven, but allowed just four runs in the game.

Wesley had jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning against DJ Milliken, who fell to 0-5.  John Carlson (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) doubled and scored on Kimmel's first RBI base knock of the game.  Then with two outs, Steve Perone (Skillman, N.J./Montogomery) ripped an RBI double and Kimmel scored on a base hit by Seth Hastings (Seaford, Del./Sussex Tech).

After Brian Poppleton drove in two with a single in the second, the Wolverines stretched the lead back to 4-2 in the third on a sacrifice fly by Carlson.

Stevenson got back to within a run in the sixth when Kyle Van Beek led off the frame with a triple and scored.

Kimmel was 2-for-4 in the game with two RBIs.  Murphy scored twice.

Poppleton knocked in all three Mustang runs.

In game two, Lozzi went the distance, scattering seven hits and a walk, while fanning seven.

Wesley, however, needed a bases loaded hit by pitch in the sixth to bring home the winning run.  Perone was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and a single by Billy Crowe (Newark, Del./Salesianum) and an intentional walk to Benedict loaded the bases with two outs.  Tim Pyle then hit Carlson to force home pinch runner Aaron Queen (Harrington, Del/Polytech), breaking a 2-2 tie.

In the first inning, Benedict reached on an error and later scored on a wild pitch for a 1-0 Wolverine lead.  He scored his second run of the game in the third on a sacrifice fly by Bryan Reshetar (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) that made it 2-0.

Justin Andersen singled in a run in the bottom of the inning and a fielder's choice allowed Van Beek to tie the game later in the frame.

Kimmel had four hits in the game, while Benedict added a pair of hits and walked once.

Tarlow had a two-hit game for the Mustangs.

Lozzi improved to 5-0, outdueling Ryan Kellough in the process.  Kellough allowed two runs in five innings, but took a no decision.

Wesley hosts Frostburg State for a three game series on April 1 and 2.
