NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College baseball team came back in one game and hung on in another for a pair of 5-4 wins in a doubleheader sweep of visiting Geneva Saturday. The Titans are now 16-5 on the season and Geneva drops to 13-10. The games do not count in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) standings because of Geneva's NCAA provisional status.

The Titans came back from a 4-1 deficit after two innings to win the first game. In the second game, Westminster led 4-0 through three innings and won despite giving up three runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Junior third baseman/relief pitcher Ethan Yeager came in to earn the save in the second game by retiring the final two batters. He took the mound with one out and runners on first and second. Yeager's fifth save of the season sets the new school record previously held by B.G. Davison with four in 2003, while Yeager's eighth career save ties the school career record with Geoff Palmer who had eight saves from 1992-95.

Sophomore designated hitter Chris Ross led the Titans by going 2-for-3 in game one despite Geneva outhitting the Titans 9-7. Ross singled and scored on a Yeager single in the fourth inning, while Yeager scored the game-tying run on a single by junior outfielder Justin King.

Ross hit a single in the fifth inning that advanced junior first baseman Tim Wiand to third and Wiand took home on an error for the Titans' go-ahead run.

Junior starting pitcher Justin Prejsnar improved to 4-1 on the season by pitching his third complete-game win. He went seven innings with four runs off nine hits and two walks while fanning two.

Wiand led the Titans in the second game by going 2-for-3 as Westminster outhit Geneva 9-7.

Senior outfielder Rick DeBlasio  hit his first career home run to give Westminster a 1-0 lead.

Junior pitcher Vince Iosue earned his first win of the season (1-2) by pitching 6 1/3 inning with four runs (3 earned) off seven hits and a walk to go with six strikeouts.

Westminster travels to Geneva Monday at 4 p.m. to make up a game originally scheduled for Friday.
