Riverdale, N.Y. – College of Mount Saint Vincent Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students Dr. Dianna Dale has announced the hiring of Paul LaMarr as the College of Mount Saint Vincent's third ever head baseball coach. Most recently on the college level LaMarr served as the Associate Head Coach and Pitching Coach at Division II Concordia for the past three seasons.

LaMarr took the reigns of the pitching staff at Concordia in July 2008 and in that capacity he oversaw the development of the Clipper pitchers. He would also develop in-game strategies, such as opponent scouting reports and tendency charts. LaMarr would also keep detailed performance charts for the Concordia staff, in addition to putting together in and off-season throwing programs and strength and conditioning programs.

While with the Clippers, LaMarr also served as the recruiting coordinator for the Baseball program. He would attend lower level games for potential recruits and would also communicate and visit with recruits. Off the field, LaMarr was responsible for team uniforms, overseeing study halls and organizing alumni and fundraising events for the program.

"I'm excited to be given this opportunity by such a fine institution," stated LaMarr. "The baseball program has had a good amount of success in a very short period and I'm certainly ready to build on that and bring this program to the next level. I'm looking forward to seeing our student-athletes reach new heights in the classroom and on the field."

In addition to his work with the Clippers, LaMarr is also involved with the Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League in Staunton, Virginia. He served as the team's pitching coach in 2010, before moving into the head coaching roll for the 2011 season.

As pitching coach he worked on the development of the Braves' staff, while also working to organize off-field community engagements, such as autograph signings and youth clinics. Among the players he has mentored with the Braves is Ben Alsup from LSU. Aslup was selected in the 18th round by the Colorado Rockies in the 2011 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.

LaMarr got his start in coaching at the college level in 2003 when he was named an assistant coach at Queensborough Community College. In his roll there he assisted with in-game decision making and pre-game preparations along with being responsible for the pitching staff.

Other coaching experience includes work at the New York Mets Baseball Academy from May 2000 – August 2008, a season as an assistant coach with the Long Island Tigers in 2001 and a stint with the Team New York Cardinals from September 2007 – August 2009.

LaMarr also has Division I playing experience at both Rider University from 1999-2000 and Stony Brook University from 2001-02. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook in May, 2008.

LaMarr currently resides in Manhasset, N.Y.
