New York, N.Y.—The John Jay
baseball team, teamed up with Ed Randall on Saturday afternoon at
the fifth annual Yankees Radio Network fan fest helping to spread
the awareness of prostate cancer.
Mr. Randall is the founder of Bat for a Cure, a 501c charity helping to bring awareness of the disease. The Bloodhounds spent Saturday afternoon with Mr. Randall helping bring awareness. The organization was founded in 2002 after Mr. Randall's prostate cancer went into remission. He was diagnosed with it in 2001.
"The team had a tremendous time with Ed Randall, and helping him bring awareness to prostate cancer," said Director of Athletics and head baseball coach, Dan Palumbo.
Thousands of people attended the fan fest, hence leaving many people with a lasting impression of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, especially its baseball program.
Ed Randall hosts a weekly radio show called "Talking Baseball." The show can be heard locally every Sunday morning on WFAN 660AM and nationally on Saturday morning on Sirius XM Radio's MLB Home Plate channel.
