Fort Worth, TX— The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team found itself undone by one tough inning as the Cru fell to Texas Wesleyan for the second time this season 4-0 Tuesday afternoon in Fort Worth. The loss drops UMHB to 3-2 on the year with both of those losses coming against the Rams. Texas Wesleyan improves to 9-1 on the season with the victory.

The Cru outhit Texas Wesleyan 6-5 in the game, but the Rams bunched three of those hits with three walks in a four-run sixth inning that proved to be the difference in the game. Alex Padilla drew a bases-loaded walk to get the first run home and Vincent Winter and Joseph Lassiter also drove in runs with bases-loaded walks. Tyler King singled home the fourth run but UMHB escaped further damage by getting out of a bases-loaded jam to end the inning. The Cru would get a runner to second base in both the seventh and eighth innings, but could not scratch across a run.

Braden Embry had two of UMHB's six hits in the game as the Cru left four runners on base. Chase Daniels took the loss for UMHB after walking three, hitting a batter and giving up two hits in one and a third innings of work. Five Cru pitchers combined to allow just five hits in the game. Patrick Stanley picked up the win in relief for Texas Wesleyan. Five different players had hits for the Rams.

UMHB will return to action with a non-conference doubleheader against Tarleton State University. Those two teams are slated for a 1:00 PM start in Stephenville on Saturday.
