Senior lefty Bryce Gapinski allowed one run and four hits in a complete-game win as St. Thomas (3-1) scored an 8-1 game-two win over UW-LaCrosse in Monday night's Metrodome baseball action.

LaCrosse (1-1) won game one 6-1.

In game two, UST scored six runs in the second inning on four hits, a walk, a hit batsman and a fielder's choice. Dan Reichert had a two-run double; J.D. Dorgan had a two-run single; and Ryan Gerber had an RBI double in the second-inning uprising. Tim Kuzniar added an RBI single in the third inning.

Gapinski (shown at right), who had a two-hit shutout through six innings, got 12 ground-ball outs and struck out five. He improved his career record to 20-5.

In the opener, Eagles senior RHP Garrett Scray worked into the seventh inning and allowed just five hits and one run. UST's Dylan Thomas struck out 11 but took the complete-game loss. Nick Reichert's seventh-inning sacrfice fly scored UST's only run.

Ben Podobinski, Gerber, and Kuzniar each had three hits on the night to lead the Tommies. 

St. Thomas returns to the Dome Thursday to face nationally-ranked UW-Whitewater in a 5 p.m. twinbill.
