WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Edgewood College baseball team wrapped up their annual spring break trip with four games over the weekend. The Eagles split a doubleheader with Greenville College, including a thrilling extra inning 6-5 victory, and lost a pair of games to St. Olaf College.

In Friday's opener, which has scheduled for seven innings, the Eagles scored once in the eighth and once in the ninth to secure the victory. Zach Creekmore tied the game in the eighth with an RBI single to score Eric Curtis to tie the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth. After Joe Gura held the Panthers scoreless in their half of the ninth, Mike Selvaggi delivered a game-winning single to center field to score Ryan O'Dell from third base.

In the second game, Ryan Walker went 3-for-3 from the leadoff position, but the Eagles fell to Greenville College 10-4. Walker, Jake Thome and Alex Jaskulski all had RBI singles in the game, but the Panthers took the lead with three runs in the first inning and sealed it with four runs in the sixth.

On Saturday, Edgewood College played their final southern games against St. Olaf College (Minn.). The Oles used a five-run first inning in game one to and cruised to a 10-1 victory. O'Dell went 2-for-3 while Jaskulski drove in the Eagles only run with a fifth inning single.

In their final game of the trip, St. Olaf jumped ahead 6-0 after two innings, before Edgewood College cut the deficit in half with three runs in the third inning. Thome led off with a double and then scored on another double by Jaskulski. Jake Zadra drove in Walker with a sacrifice fly, before O'Dell's single scored Jaskulski. St. Olaf answered with four runs in the fourth inning and ultimately claimed a 10-3 victory.

Edgewood College will open their Northern Athletics Conference schedule on March 30 against Maranatha Baptist in Watertown. The Eagles play their home opener the following day with a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader against Concordia University Wisconsin at Charles Stampfl Field in Verona.
