Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State baseball team swept a Skyline Conference doubleheader against NYU-Poly this afternoon in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Rams won the first game 20-5 and picked up an 8-3 victory in game two.

In game one, Farmingdale State (10-6, 4-0) was led by freshman second baseman Thomas Rydzewski (Franklin Square, N.Y.) who was 4-for-6 at the plate with 4 RBI and four runs scored. Junior first baseman Ron Remi (Massapequa, N.Y.) was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, while junior catcher Eric Wiener (Deer Park, N.Y.) had two hits, a run scored and 2 RBI. Freshman shortstop Matthew Zsevc (Westbury, N.Y.) batted 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored and senior designated hitter Danny DeVito (Plainview, N.Y.) recorded 2 RBI and scored a run for the Rams.

Junior pitcher Anthony Eilers (Bay Shore, N.Y.) picked up the win after allowing three earned runs on eight hits over six innings of work.

In the second game of the doubleheader, freshman shortstop Anthony Alvino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and two runs scored, while freshman right fielder Frank Gagliardi (West Islip, N.Y.) had two hits and a run scored for Farmingdale State.

Sophomore pitcher Mike Dolce (St. James, N.Y.) allowed one earned run and struck out five batters in six innings to earn the win.

The Rams next will host Maritime in a Skyline doubleheader on Sunday, March 25th at 12:00p.m.
