Senior right-hander Alex Chetelat (Farmington, Conn.) was tabbed as the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week after helping the Newbury College baseball team split Saturday afternoon's double-header with a 2-1 victory in game two.

Getting the nod on the mound in the second game of Saturday's twin-bill, Chetelat reared back and went the distance, tossing his second complete game of the season to earn his fifth victory of the season. Allowing just one run on three hits, the Farmington, Conn. native surpassed a new career single-game high, retiring nine Eagles by way of the strike-out to earn his second conference win of the year.

This is the fourth straight week Chetelat has received conference honors as he was named the NECC Pitcher of the Week last week following a two-hit, complete game against Elms College in addition to Player of the Week honors the two weeks previous.

Leading the Nighthawks with a .365 batting average as well as a 1.058 OPS, Chetelat is second in the conference in RBIs and homeruns with 29 and four respectively while leading the NECC in wins, along with teammate Chris Ninteau, with five. In addition he ranks third in the conference in strikeouts, fanning 31 opposing batters.
