JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back, pounding out 16 hits as NJCU won its 12th game of the year, knocking off Baruch College, 12-4, in non-conference action on Tuesday at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex. The Gothic Knights scored in every inning except the third and sixth.

NJCU (12-18) snapped a four-game losing streak while knocking off the City University of New York's undefeated Bearcats (17-14, 8-0 CUNYAC). The Knights turned three double plays in the game and stole five bases.
 
Freshman shortstop MICHAEL MARTUCCI (Bayonne, NJ/Saint Peter's Prep) led five players with multiple hits, finishing 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI while stealing his 13th and 14th base of the season. He was instrumental in all three double plays turned.
 
Junior center fielder MICHAEL PATTERSON (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) was 3-for-4 with three runs, one RBI, a walk, double and steal in the leadoff spot while junior PETE SENYSZYN (Carteret, NJ/Carteret), in the designated hitter role, was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and one run.
