Thomas More Completes Three-Game Sweep of Geneva With a 9-4 Win On Senior Day

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College baseball team complete a three-game Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) sweep of Geneva College with a 9-4 win today (Saturday, April 21, 2012) on Senior Day at Thomas More Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 22-10 overall and 11-7 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Golden Tornadoes fall to 14-19 overall and 8-13 in the PAC.

Thomas More scored three runs in the first, one in the second, four in the third and one in the fifth, while holding Geneva to one run in the sixth and three in the ninth.

At the plate, the Saints were led by sophomore center fielder Cody Makin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder), who was two-for-four with two runs batted-in and a run scored and freshman catcher Brad Popham (Edgewood, Ky./Dixie Height), who was two-for-four with a run scored.

Freshman pitcher Tim Baldrick (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) earned the win on the mound as he pitched five shutout innings and gave up five hits and struck out three.

Prior to the game the Saints honored seniors Aaron Carmack (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg), Andrew Clements (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) and Andrew Thole (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas), who were playing their final regular season home game at Thomas More Field.

Thomas More returns to action on Tuesday (April 24) when it travels to Columbus, Ohio to play Capital University in a non-conference game starting at 4 p.m.
